Our CoP static is now on Tenzen. We tried a few times on Thursday night, but due to his uber Skillchain we lost each and every time.

I have a stradegy but I want some opinions from people that have actually done it before.

Party Setup : 75SMN/WHM, 75SAM/WAR, 75RDM/BLM, 70RDM/BLM, 75PLD/WAR(or /NIN) and 65BRD/WHM

This is what our Static has to offer and from runs we did, this ended up being the jobs that wrked best.

Now, fight starts like normal. RDM casts dia II on Tenzen and take the attention of the pesky Taru Threesme. Then PLD prvkes and begins tanking.

Our first run, SMN, SAM, and BLU (who is the BRD) Two Houred at about 75%. At 26% Tenzen used his SC, we lost.

Second Run, Again SMN, SAM, And BLU two houred at about 70%. Also a sidenote, SAM was /RNG for first few runs for Sidewinders, turns out /war is much much better w/ Tenzen. Anyway, Tenzen again SC'ed at abut 25%. We lost.

So We tried a run w/out two hours. BLU switched to his lower level BRD and we tried it. This was just a ZERG of Predator Claws, and WS and nukes from the RDMs. We got him to abut 26% and he SC'ed. Hmmm interesting

On a run with no two hours we did just as well as when we had our two hours.

So onto the forth try...
We decide to 2hr until abut 50-45% of his HP is remaining. We do so, and believe it or not, he SCed at abut 24% and killed us.

What I'm wondering is this. Is is SC timed, based on HP% or /random?
And also, I'm think SMN should 2hr at about 45%, SAM at about 30%. PLD right after SAM to keep hate. BRD should soul voice Minuets w/ SAM's 2hr, and RDM's as needed.

Will a Zerg this late into the fight win it? Or will it be too late?

He's been nerfed to hell now. Just go bitchslap him.

The fight is a complete Zerg, just go all out on him... Like every strategy guide says to do. And his SC is timed I believe.

Too many mages, not enough damage dealers.

Have your RDM70 swap to a melee job if they have it, or have the 75 swap and tell the RDM70 to level up. Remember the Icarus Wings also. Don't try to purposefully try to make a skillchain, except for the SAM, who's majority of 2hr damage comes from this.

I can't see how you could actually fail this BCNM with the right jobs, especially since its been nerfed.

I suggest you get a couple people to help out, and do the fight twice.

First run: pld, sam, rdm, smn, blm, 2nd blm or heavy DD

Second run: pld, sam, other rdm, brd, blm, 2nd blm or heavy DD

Strategy is the same both times, sam and pld (or 2nd heavy DD) start with TP, make a SC for the blm(s) then pop wings and do another. Smn and Brd act as the decoys, they do their buffs for the party then run in and aggro, then run off to a corner and stay alive while they eat taru nukes, smn can Predator Claw away at him while doing that. Rdm keeps the melee alive. You should be able to do it without 2 hours with that setup.

You need quick damage, SC's and MB's do a lot of damage fast.

We didn't even have a tank when we won it. Just sleep pots, Brd 2 hr Minuet x 2 walked in and did a 3 man Darkness, I think the rdm got off 2 bursts with Chainspell. Icarus wing, started again next thing I knew he was giving up.

Thats the same thing my static did with the Darkness chain. We tried a light one, but that did ALOT less damage then the dark (i don't know if that was a fluke or what). We had Nin, Drk, Drg, Whm, Blm, Blm in our winning run.

Had all mages stay as close to the start out point as possible to avoid the taru nukes and Ranged attacks. Melee sleep 100 tp and go from there. Didn't even need the Icarus Wings when we were done.

If I remember good my static whit pld/war sam/war rng/war blm/rdm /whm/sm and rdm/blm. rng used opo-opo whit sleep potion, sam meditated. First I knew is pld went in 2hr and every 1 max dd including rdm whit chainspell. Next thing I new as the blm I didin't had the time to spam manafont since I never ran out of mp.

Good luck

Thanx for opinions from everyone. Biggest issue is definatley that the RDM's are far as I knw, only have RDM leveled....so lets hope that doesn't stop us.

Option 1: Zerg. See previous posts.

Option 2: He'll only use his "I win" button when he 2-hours *after* eating his rice ball, if memory serves. (It's certainly possible for him to 2-hour without ending up with Cosmic Elucidation.) Also note that like all skillchains, he's going to be trying to pull off a *sequence* of WS's.

Cosmic Elucidation isn't technically a skillchain effect (read: avoidable by delaying time between WS's). It's actually a side effect of the final WS in the sequence, whatever fancy name it has that I don't remember offhand. But the point is that he's not gonna use *that* WS (which makes you lose the BC) until he's used the two or three WS's *before* that.

And some of those require that he be awake and close to someone (though I remember that at least one is ranged). Factor in that Bind, Gravity, and Lullaby (not sure about Sleep) all work on him - though he builds resistance to all of them - and option #2 basically boils down to:

- Do as much damage as you can pre-rice ball.
- When he 2-hours post-rice ball, get away from him, stay away from him (use above spells as needed, to make sure he never gets close to his current hate target) and do ranged damage only. Such as sleep-nuking or chainspelling or Nether Blasting or something. (Note that due to the rice ball, he takes rather low damage from everything, but it does still wear him down.)

As a side note, the tarus stop doing stuff while his 2-hour is up, so you don't have to worry about them being a nuisance at that point.

Find a ranger that shadowbind him when 2H are active

Hate to say but SMN is sortof too little, too unreliable of a DD for such an all-or-nothing fight. =/

The tick is, burn him. Burn him hard, burn him fast. have your PLD sleep TP for a good intial Spirits, have the bard sleep TP for more spirits, have the RDMs preped to chain nuke-burn, and have everyone else just unload on them. If the sams good, he can prolly do a fair bit on his own, just dont fuck his SC. If you can swap jobs around for more DD, do it. Needs more burning.

With a sam/rng this should be a walk in the park, thier 2hr "should" take most of his hp. Other than that you have too much mage, needs moar DD, like others have already stated >.>

For sme wierd reason, our SAM/WAR was doing more damage spamming Light SC than he did Spammin' Sidewinder's. Could have been a fluke but who knows. We will try again w/ SAM/RNG.

strategy*

on topic: zerg.

you have a blu for this? when we did it we just had the blu stun spam, concentrating on breaking up his chains. it works well maybe you could try it.

Yeah, the Person playing our BRD has BLU leveled. We may have to try this was well.

I would keep Sam/War unless your SAM has a Soboro then /Rng is probably okay. I don't think it's necessary though. I remember subbing /war with Hagun my WS would hit him for about 1.3k.

Did this with 5 people last time I tried. Whm, Brd, x3 Sam/War and he lasted about 2 mins.
