Well, today started out well enough for a Friday, rode into town for work as usual, fought off the wind as per the norm. Roll around lunch time, I go to stop at the pharmacy to pick up bathroom stuff, and reach into my bag to pay...no wallet. So, I'm like..shit, apologize to the staff, run back to the office to see if it's just sitting on the floor or at my desk. No dice. Well, I'm starved, and have no cash, my boss lent me 10 bucks, so I got food.
I phone home after eating because I know my brother is there (lucky bastard doesn't have to work on Fridays), get voice mail. Apparently the idiot was in the shower at the time.
He MSN's me a little later, saying he can't find it, we talk for a bit, and he still can't find it.
(Side note, I love where I work)
Talk to my manager, he lets me take off to go see if I can find it at home. Ride home in the fucking heat, fighting the wind again (changes direction around noon, stupid wind) Get home, search the house, no dice. Fuck. And as it's Friday, everything shuts down soon, and I can't risk having my stuff missing over the weekend without being reported, so I go "better safe than sorry", and begin the process of getting everything canceled/locked and replaced.
Fast-forward 3 hours.
I did manage to get a new bank card after locking the account/going back into town, so I can at least access my money, and use it to, you know, buy stuff, as I don't keep much cash on me. Whoever got my wallet gets around $8, in coins.
Bet you're thinking: bank card, credit card and drivers license, that can be replaced. What makes this a fucking disaster was due to this:
Contained in my wallet:
Bank card
Credit Card
Drivers License
Health Card
Original British Columbia birth certificate
SIN card (FUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!!!) (sigh, I know I should of taken it out of there long ago. Dumbass am I indeed)
Immunization records
Along with every other piece of contact business cards I have
...yea, I had everything in there.
What makes it worse, I can't replace my SIN card without a birth certificate, I can't get a birth certificate online without a credit card, and I live in Ontario, and can only get a replacement certificate from BC. I can at least re-order one by snail-mail, to which Service Canada here was very nice in printing the forms for me.
I've filled my police report, know how to get my license replaced (which just reminds me, now I can't drive anywhere this weekend. GFDI)
Surprisingly enough, replacing my health card was near effortless, a simple phone card and I was told it would be mailed. Same deal for my credit card.
What a way to start a weekend. Sigh.
I'm going to go home and going to blow shit up in SoaSE. (still at work)
