Thanks for staying batshit insane, Nintendo.

existing interest doesn't mean shit if Nintendo does something rad with it.

and hey, the PS3 controller looks like a big curvy dildo. . . but I guess those are intended for "comfort"

You're also ignoring the "controller dock" which is basically a gamecube controller with a slot to put the remote in. Now you have a controller that can't be considered "uncomfortable" but will still play the games exactly the same.

why don't you follow his advice then, Carth? D:

and anyways..that docking thing seems unnecessary. Why would they have that if you can supposedly use the old controllers for the system?

Immersion: Sword hilt. Flashlight. Baseball bat.

When you're not playing a game taking advantage of that, use the dock, or assuming you have a Gamecube controller. One of those.

Remember, they do have to compensate for those that do not have a Gamecube.

I'm thinking it's for the games that take advantage of the motion sensor in the remote, which would not be present in a game cube or any other type of controller. Plus, this way they can save a TON of money on designing a new controller for people who don't like the remote, they just gut a game cube controller and make a couple small changes and it's good to go.

I just want to respond to her completely retarded argument of "Hey if you think Nintendo is so great why do you have a PS2?".

My fave food is Lasagna, now I had chinese tonight instead of Lasagna, does this mean I'm not loyal and still don't think Lasagna is the bee's knees? Fuck no, just means I like to have some different damn food every now and then. I'm in love with Nintendo's systems and games, I'm in love with Sony's games but not it's system - but alas I have to buy a PS3 to play my next Ico installment and new Wild ARMs, do I play my GC more than my PS2? Yup, do I think my GC Is better than my PS2? Yup, does this mean I hate Nintendo because I have a different sytem in my house...nope, Does this mean I hate Sony? Nope - I think Sony's development team is one of the best in the world. They've brought me titles like Wild ARMs, Primal, God Of War, ICO just to name a few.

I just don't trust the hardware, 2 faulty systems after 2 sony purchases have left me with a sour taste in my mouth. Please don't pull this "Well you must not treat your systems well" bullshit because my GC and DC take 4 times the beating that my PS2 has ever taken because I take them to friends houses to play multiplayer games. My PS2 sits in my Home entertainment system not moving....Yeah must be the way i treat it.

Hmmm I must be a Lasagna Fan Girl....

PS: Im excited for the new system, I love my DS and what they've done with it so far. If you don't want the damn new system shut up and don't buy it. Leave the people with a desire to game in a new way to have grand fantasy's of having one on one sword battles with gannon alone and go bug someone else in a different thread.

This is where i like being a all systems kind of guy. i like the ps2, gamecube, xbox, and i love the nintendo, and the super nes. they had great games and i hope they revamp or make it so you can download the old games. I can't wait to buy the ps3 and the xbox 360. i just hope xbox doesn't mess up in halo 3 like they did with halo 2's ending.(although the game play was great)

Now if people want to bitch about how gay or crapy the new system will be then bitch. Look if you don't like it don't play/buy it. i personly hope they keep making new types of controlers and new shapes of the systems it makes it seem like they are trying to please the public instead of staying with one shape or color. look at the nintendo systems all they do is keep coming out with something new and thats great it means they are thinking of fun ways to please the public.

now the ps3 and xbox 360 also look great and i can't wait to try them but i will never put something down till i try it. thats like not playing FF XI and saying its a gay game. but if you want to bitch don't post it where everyone will disagree. or atleast alot of people will disagree(i didn't read the whole thread ;p)

On a side note.. Halo 2's ending was like that because it's supposed to be a delibrate connection to the 3rd.. kinda like Matrix's 2nd movie's ending leading right into the 3rd.. stupid to do, in my opinion. Make it one big movie (or int his case one big game). Though.. that wouldn't appeal to the people wanting to make as much money as they can off of it >.> Though.. I don't find it all that bad.. it's a fun cliffhanger :D

19 pages of reading.. i don't think i read that much in my entire high school career.

My opinion on this topic is that people fear change. Notice this is an OPINION. SNES did the 4 button diamond pattern and 2 shoulder button controller. Sony followed with the same layout but with 2 shoulders on each side for PSX. N64 brings their D-pad and Joystick with the diamond C buttons and 2 reuglar buttons and two shoulders and 1 trigger. Dreamcast came out with the 4 button diamond pattern but with 2 trigger buttons instead of shoulders. Microsoft brings out their giant controller and then retreated to the 'mock dreamcast' controller.

Microsoft took a gamble and lost... thank goodness halo got popular otherwise that 2nd controller type wouldn't have made it to shelves in time ^.^ Microsoft probably fears to even try to change the general button layout to their controller. People know that the diamond button layout with shoulder buttons work. They have nothing to fear when another console brings out something like that. So they can relax about it.

Uh-oh! GameCube controller... I dunno folks.. it's not the 'traditional' layout we all know and love. Wait a minute... this isn't so bad... it didn't crash and burn like xbox's first controller (although some ppl loved that controller ^^). The controller was nice for what it needed to do.

Unveiling of next gen controllers... The xbox 360 controller is shown... everyone breathes a sigh of relief: traditional button layout. ps3 controller is shown: i dunno guys... the shape is weird.. but the traditional layout stays the same... better keep your eye on it! Revolution controller is shown: WTH?!?! where's my traditional layout? Nintendo's up to no good again. lol

My point is... Nintendo didn't make the controller the way it did without a reason. Innovation? sure it is. I've never seen a major console gaming controller that can do what is expected of what the revolution controller 'should' be capable of. Last time i checked, when i turned my controller to the left in a racing game, the car didn't turn left.. it stayed straight. Last time i checked in soul calibur 2, when i tried to mimic Nightmare's 3+A upward slash with my controller... He was waiting for commands so it could do something. Chnage is good people! If everyone did the same thing there wouldn't be any competition.

If the controller doesn't succeed that doesn't succeed oh well. Just make a new model just like what microsoft did. Simple as that. But don't hate what you haven't tried, it might come back to bite you in the butt.

Like a lotta people have stated, Nintendo is doing something with their controller that Xbox and PS3 can't do with their's. That means they will get money and their will probably be a whole lot of 'revolution-only' titles that will hit shelves due to the capability of the controller itself if all goes well. This will make PS3 and Xbox 360 fight it out a lot because they will be providing the same thing to their gamers.

Think about this. What if Nintendo revealed their controller first? What do you think Xbox and PS3 would do? Do you think they would add some kind of unique feature to their controller like the Revolution's? I actually think they would. Not to the extent of making it look like the revolution controller but they would have probably added some kind of sensor to the controller.

I'm more of a Nintendo person although i do like playing Playstation games. It seems to me that Nintendo is the multiplayer fun company. While Sony and Xbox advertise to the people that think graphics make the world go round. (remember this is all an opinion). Most of the games I see people play that are multiplayer are Halo and the majority of the GameCube games. When I go over someone's house so they can show me this cool PS2/Xbox game they got.. it's usually only cool in 1P mode only.

For franchising, Nintendo has Mario and Zelda and Pokemon and Smash Bros. What does Sony have?? (someone answer that for me) and it seems Xbox is trying to get Master Chief to be their 'Mario.' I think microsoft is going to have spinoff after spinoff of halo games just like nintendo has done for mario. But it seems halo won't last long after the big 'story' is finished. You can't put master chief into other games like nintendo did for mario. Nintendo did it because they CAN. Mario is a household name. He's about to have is own freak'n DDR game for cryin' out loud!! Would halo fans buy a DDR game that feature Master Chief? You monopolize on what works. If people buy halo... then the most logical thing is to keep create more halo games. because you KNOW people will buy.

Ok, can't think anymore... i forgot what else i wanted to say.

Laters.

Sony has Squaresoft, and thus, they have Final Fantasy. They also have the Metal Gear sieries (yes its come out on X-Brick, but after about 5 months.)

Basicly, Sony has the games that cater to the more intelectual gamer. the gamer who enjoys the plot to the game, and wants the game to chalenge him (or her, sorry), not just how big the explosions are.

Please note that this is based of percentages of games. I dont want to see some useless reply like "I like my Nintendo, so that means i'm a moron?"

And as for the "Revolution only" games that'll be made for the systems controller functions, if it is a sucess, i wouldnt doubt that sony or microsoft will release a controller with similar functions, to stay competitive. But, if it doesnt turn out to be a sucess (and maybe not, since all these magic features for the revolution controler are Secondary purchases) Nintendo will be sitting there lookin stupid, with a function no one wants, while Sony and Microsoft Arent phazed by it at all.

"innovation" has almost turned into "Retarded" when Nintendo uses it.

it.
Actually, Sony's contract with SquareEnix is already up, and both Hideo Kojima(MGS creator) and the head of SE were interested in making games for the Revolution; so I'm sure there's going to be games of both series on the Revolution.

I miss the good ol' days...

The days of Mario and Sonic battling to the death. I miss Knuckles vs. Luigi. I miss "Blast Processing" vs. the "millions of on-screen colors." I miss MIDIs and sprites. I miss Laser Scopes and 32xs. I miss the days when you would go and rent a video game and play someone else's game-save file. I miss the days when I could actually throw my controller across the room, unhooking if from the base-unit in the process, because I was obviously cheated by the game and not having to worry about if the controller would still work when I plugged it back in. I miss the trick of being able to yank the cartridges out and then put them back in "just right" or with that "magic touch" and getting them to work properly. Things used to be so much more enjoyable and simple.

Remember when arcades were everywhere and the games only cost a single quarter? Remember the first time you beat Bowser and were able to see the Princess for the first time? Remember the first time you got to use real NFL plays and teams in John Madden football? Remember the first time you used ZELDA as the file name and found yourself in a very confusing, yet familiar world? Remember the first time you went spinning around those loops in Sonic and you had no idea where the hell you were gonna end up but you know you were gonna have a blast getting there? Remember when there was no such a word as fanboy and that you played every single game you could get your hands on, regardless of the system/controller and you tried your hardest to beat the game, no matter how much it sucked?

Good times. Good times.

eh.. we'll just have to see how it goes. We already know that MGS 4 is on PS3. And FF12 is supposedly the last one they are gonna make. I don't doubt SE wants to release games on all systems though.. that just means more money for them and we all know how SE is when it comes to money
