That time has come... see you again :)

One of the nicest people I've ever met in FFXI :( later reya!

Indeed. Great times, Rise, haha. Actually, a few hours before you and star were talking about that, it happened to me, and I got stuck, had to call a GM. <.<

Take care Reya, and GL out there. I hope to see you back one day. :(

<3 My awesome avatar!

i haven't posted on here for months but i gotta say goodbye and good luck to ya reya!! the army huh?? and medic too?? thats pretty awesome.. ive got 4 years in the army now, and was actually just thinking of reclassing to combat medic. good luck to you, you'll love it :) hit me up if you have any questions or anything like that, i'd be more than happy to answer.

Well, as of about 18 minutes ago, Reya left with her recruiter to begin the long process she's embarked upon.

It's a good thing I don't believe in solving my problems with alcohol, or I'd be gettin' pretty fucked up right now.

You can do it Raes :D but if you ever need a drinking buddy... fly here :P

Anyway, I know Reya left the building, but still, best of wishes!

damn I just come back and now you're leaving?! ;;

Reya's actually started Basic now, after about a week in Reception. She's not overly happy last time I talked to her, but I'm sure she'll get better as she gets used to the routine there. ^^;

Hopefully I get used to this as well, very sad panda. ;.;

Well, just got my first boot camp letter from Reya. ^^ She's doing better now, her boots didn't fit her very well and gave her blisters which subsequently got infected, but they gave her some meds and let her wear sneakers for a bit and she's doing okay now. She wanted me to say hi to everyone on QCDN, so consider yourselves greeted! ></)

Oh, and she also found it humorous that one of her Drill Sergeants is named Sgt. Slaughter.

Sgt. Slaughter.... holy shit! =p

tell her to get me his autograph lol

Minor update to Reya's bootcamp adventures:

She's done her first major obstacle course (called "Fit to Win" apparently) and passed easily. ^^ She also did (and passed) her gas chamber event, which strikes me as probably the least fun part of the whole experience. She also got to have some fun with bayonet charges and pugil fighting. She wasn't overly thrilled about the latter, which I find confusing. What's not fun about beating up someone with a stick?

Aside from the fact that she keeps getting sick, she's doing okay and is on schedule to graduate in a few weeks. ^^

Fighting?

"Fit To Win"... I know exactly where she is. Tell her to stick in there and it'll be over soon enough.

(Insert comment about bedbreaking here)?

Probably an appropriate time for one, though the segue could be tricky.

<pic of pugil> Fighting?

Not... exactly.

Yeah, from our last phone conversation and her letters she's pretty much past the worst of it, it's all downhill from here. Though she's having some rifle issues it seems. Yet another reason the Army (and everyone else) should have replaced the M-16 years ago...

Um, this is actually bizarre but here goes.
When I was playing WoW I knew a character named Dahgoo.
The person behind him was a latino boy of 17 named Ernest Slaughter, he was enrolled in officer training school. To become a sergeant. Sergeant Slaughter. We made fun of him a lot over vent for that.
I left WoW in July, but before I left he told me he was preparing to leave home during the summer. It may be a stretch, but considering it's a Sgt. Slaughter from Texas and the times match up somewhat, I think I might know Reya's Drill Sergeant.
If you could find out if his first name is Ernest (I think it was Ernest) or if he's a 17-18 year old latino, or even if he responds to his in-game name Dahgoo then that would be some pretty amazing shit.

P.S. If it turns out to be him, tell him Jeuno says hi for me, lol.
Edit: He was from Houston if that helps.

Your story seems a little off cix. Sergeant isn't a rank any officer would be. You wouldn't go to officer school to be an enlisted rank. Maybe it was NCO school or something?

Pugil sticks can be fun unless you piss off you drill instructors and they pair you up with someone who is like 4 times your size.

When I went through marine corps basic back in 2000 I was the guy in my platoon who couldn't stop laughing. I only weigh about 150 lbs now. I went into boot camp at 120 lbs. Well in boot camp they usually pair you up with guys within about 30 lbs of each other. Well my drill instructors wanted to teach me a lesson. I ended up paired up with a guy who weighed about 250. I got put on my arse pretty quick; but I never learned my lesson.

You seem to know more about it than me, and I don't remember all the details, but I think he was going through ROTC. I still think the coincidence warrants a little investigation, though.
