Ok first let me start off by saying the people who know me, know me as a nice calm person and i respect adults.

Now on to the topic.

A few days again I got some sort of throat infection. Now this is nothing like i've ever had before. It hurts to breathe, eat, and drink. the first day i got it, i thought it was just a sore throat and ignored it. But on saturday it got so bad i had to be rushed to the hospital at about 9 PM my time(i think).

So i get to the hospital and theres a line. No Problem i don't mind waiting i usually get a privite room right away. Which i did.

So after about another Hour of sitting in the room the doctor comes in(where going to call him "Dr, Nicedoctor" for now... ). so he comes in and tells me that i'll be getting some blood work done, throat swab, some xrays and an I.V so i can get some fluids in my body and i will spend the night and see how i am in the morning. So i think to myself "Ok cool" so then i lie in that room for like 4 hours before anyone else comes in(they weren't even busy) I passed out during this time and my fever went down(BTw i've been having a on and off fever of 104 degrees)

So i get my stats checked and my heart rate is slower then normal and my blood presure was in the bad(i can't remember if higher or lower is bad), So mr, nicedoctor calls in the head doctor of the night.(we will call her "mrs, BITCH")


She says "We will do one of 2 things"
Mrs, BITCH > "first we will see how your blood results come back and see how your white and red blood cell count are"
"second we will send you home on meds"
"thrid you will get no meds and just wait it out"

(yep that's three things)

Now i'm too sick to care about that shit.

So after more waiting a nurse comes in and takes my blood, I'm thinking finally we're getting somewhere. then she says it'll take 2 hours for one of the results to come back. w/e right.

So after MORE waiting i get my X-Rays(now i ALL WAYS laugh when they run behind the wall to take the xrays lol) So thats now done, i might be able to get that I.V and get my colour back........... nope.

Mrs, BITCH comes back and tells me that my Xrays are better then my last ones which were taken a few months earlyer. I asked to see and compair myself(I've been going thru this for 11 years, i know what to look for)

then she tells me

"We can't find the olds ones"

So i'm standing there and i ask her "Then how do you know i'm doing better"

30 second pause...

"Good question" WTF WTF WTF WTF

then she tells me "Since there is no change we will be sending you home on a oral med"(now just so you all know i've never had a good time with Oral meds, I always end up in the hospital anyways)

It's now like 5 am and i'm Puking up slurpee, which really burns the back of my throat. So then we get kicked out of the hospital.

I'm at home, drinking 2 litres of water at a time >.>.

So I end up falling asleep a few times(only got like 30 min of sleep at a time i kept coughing and waking up)

At 1:30 pm my time, i sleep for two hours wake up and call my doctor before i go back and wait 8 hours for nothing to happen, I ended up talking to the "Mr, Nicedoctor" and he made me repeat everything again. then i talk to him about the other doctor and how she knew nothing and was rude. he pretty much sounded like a Gm -.-

So after 30 min of listening to him repeat everything he said last night, I questioned him about the I.V. I just said that was the head doctors choose. he changed the subject.

Now pissed i made him call my head doctor "Dr, pastercamp". So i wait 30 min before he calls back and he tells me if i come into emerg again i will be forced out(this is the childern's emerg, yes i'm 18 but kids with CF take time to go to the adults. cause the other doctors need to get to know me and my form of C.F)

So after listening to him say that, i snap and say.
"SHUT THE FUCK UP, you god damn moron, I talked with the adults side and every fucking nurse in emerg last night, you want to know what they told me? They said i can go there till i'm reading to switch over(which is 1 month away).

"But but but but, dr. Pastercamp said you will be removed if you come here.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

"You must also wait 48 to 76 hours before the med kicks in"

"so let me get this right...you want me to remain puking everything i eat up and drink only water for 2 to 3 fucking days"

"As long as the water stays down, there is no need to worry." Which the water was staying down but its not food damn it -.-

Now as some of you know i eat about as much as 5 fat people a day. so 2 to 3 days without food is insane.

so I hung up the phone on him, past out and woke up 20 min ago.

So now i'm stuck at home, unable to eat anything and only able to drink water -.-

This is mostly a rant just to get a little calm. Also anyone who knows me, knows i ALMOST never swear to someone older then me. friends and brothers don't count. This is the first time i ever swore infront of my mom and to an elder.

Man Myrrh that really sucks. I know all about idiot doctors. i work some of them quite a bit (im one of those xray techs that run behind the wall lol i really laughed at that). Yeah some doctors are pretty idiotic at times. but sometimes you are limited to which doctors you can go to so you have to deal with it which really really sucks.

Well i just hope you feel better bro just take it easy and try and eat a lil at a time just like a bite or two ever couple of minutes and just eat light food like breads and yogurt stuff like that

Try having a simple broth - take the water and warm it up with some chicken broth (or boullion if you don't have broth)... it's not much, but there is at least something more to it than water. Also, if you can get your hands on some vitamin water, might not be a bad idea.

They were actually trying to save money >.<

Sounds like they only kept you overnight to make sure it wasn't pseudomonas or a lung infection (a complication of your CF) causing the fever. If tests were negative for a CF flareup, they were probably just going to treat the sore throat with oral antibiotics or something, and that wouldn't merit a hospital stay I wouldn't imagine.

In this case, you have CF, so they need to check that first every time you come in for something. But just because you have CF doesn't mean it's always CF. Even if you do have strep throat, that's a discharge on oral meds and little more.

Now my only concern is that you're throwing up and you have CF. That immediately puts you back at risk for the thing they were checking for in the first place and didn't find--lung infection.

Biggest moral of the story: Don't friggin eat slurpies. That junk does NOT come out of the carpet.

Y'think so Pere? o.o It sounded to me like they were being sortof overlooking on some things (such as not having a past X-Ray to compare and stuff)

Sorry if I'm wrong on this, but wouldn't a bronchoscopy be best for that sortof thing? I guess a blood test would've worked too, just seems sortof unecessary.

Change in sputum/mucus/phlegm/whateveryouwannacallthatstuff color would be a good sign something's wrong, but a TON of things can change the color of that =/ COPD, GERD, or even just a sinus infection...

Well, I do hope that you get better. Try going to a different hospital, or even your area Clinic.
