Referring to the in-game auction house.

I hate it when people jack up prices.

We all do, it's just a natural thing though that people want to get more money for their items. Whatever.

What I'm mad about though is when idiots bid WAY up on items. You know, when an item has been selling for N gil, only 1-2 are up and N won't buy it... and then someone bids N + x gil where x is some arbitrarily large increase in the cost of the item. (example: http://www.ffxiah.com/item.php?id=1398&sid=16 going price: 300k. someone buys for 400k. not necessarily the greatest example but it's an example nonetheless)

Thoughts?

In before "<blank> flame is <blank>" people.

It sucks, but as long as there is someone stupid enough to buy it for a crazy price, there will always be people who sell it for a stupid price.

on old gear I can sympathize a bit esp gear you have had for a long time then outgrow it and it sells at 1/4 of the original price.... crafted stuff is always a tricky business, can't blame the crafter since it's mostly a loss or break even at best and rarely profit pending what you're doing, the buyer seems like he's trying to make it a lesser loss going by the price for mats. That's just someone on the outside looking in though

I remember back when P.rope was only 200k for a weekend but shot back up 350k or so

Up, down, inflation, deflation, rmt, gil, etc.

If people want it, they're gonna buy it. I've paid over the price on several items and not once can I complain because, I'm the one who choose to pay that money for it.

Prices on the AH are determined by supply/demand and what buyers sellers think the item is worth.

If someone thinks the item is worth more than you're willing to pay, they get it.
If you're not willing to go that high, then you don't really want it as much as they do, so you don't get it.

Prices go up when there's more people buying than people supplying.
Prices go down when there's more buyers than sellers.

Not exactly new stuff (or rocket science)...

AH called and...

Auction House>> Get over it.

Yeah, I understand the principles of economics guys. Doesn't mean they can't irritate the crap out of me.

Well if you dont like dealing with the rising AH prices, vote with your wallets and dont pay higher prices, then maybe they would lower a bit when people stop buying on impulse rather than waiting a bit.

And when you're selling I bet it irritates the crap out of you when people undercut you?

Winnar....
If you want to complain go to this expand it to 25 and let me know when you get to Lennon... Then you can complain

At least Cursed Mittens have a good reason (being they're for one of the best WS hands in the game for most jobs)

What confuses me to no end is when there's, for example, 6+ of an armor or weapon (such as Blau Dolch) and the price manages to be going up as they sell. Not sure if these guys are the luckiest guys in the world or what...

I hated when there would be like 6 of one item, and each of those would be like 20k more then AH price.

Angel skin (material)= 380-400k

Mayyyyyyyyyybe........that has something to do with it? o.o I would rather come out even than lose gil.

Crafter are not always to blame, but when it comes to non-craftable items > > then yeah...It's obvious someone is trying to make a profit.

have you check how much cost to craft? blamed crafter?? no one craft u go shout to buy like a whore and not getting it. idiot
