Ok I am a huge Baseball fan. I was looking and notice this was the only one for the Wii. Anyone know when it is slated to come out GameSpot.com just says Q1 07.

I posted something about this a few days back in the big thread going. 2k Sports is trying to get it out for a summer release last I heard.

Ayup, it sucks :/ I wasn't interested in the game until I saw it was a "fantasy" styled game and made by 2K, no one does baseball like those guys. Anyway, looking around, it looked like they had some problems making MLB 2K7 for the Wii how they wanted so they scrapped it, kept going with the others, and are putting a whole new effort into this game which would explain the summer release.

MVP when it had MLB liscensing won best baseball franchise three years in a row until they lost the contract. Now Sony makes MLB The Show series and is prolly running #1. I just want a real baseball game three innings on Wii Sports isn't enough. As for them making it a "fantasy" I am curious with this. Are they going to go NBA Street or NFL Blitz like?

Necro ya ya

Gamestop says this game comes out Tuesday for all you Wii owning baseball fans. Although this is kind of like NFL Blitz it's still a full baseball game.

It's going to be MLB Slugfest with better graphics. Going to trade in MLB2k7 and pick it up for the 360.

I already have The Show for PS2 I just want something for wii to enjoy that involves baseball. Too bad the white sox are just horrible this year.

Oye another necro to this. I got this the other day, and damn it's fun. A little tough to control then adjusting to actually having to field everything yourself is kind of a pain. Still a fun fun game to play and addicting. Going the full 9 can start building up a good sweat.

My only complain is the pitching staffs aren't full.

I was looking at it. It looked interesting, but I heard the gameplay was a little too "gimmicky." (i.e. too much Wiimote useage; so much that it's difficult.)

It's not difficult once you get use to the game play style. It's actually quite fun to play solo or with people. Either way in rookie mode (forget what it's called on game) you only go 5 innings. It's really fun to play sometimes the controls don't respond so well, but for a first year on a fairly new concept of a remote it works pretty damn well. I wouldn't say so much gimmicky more like actually utilizing what the Wii was meant to be used for.

I could see next year being better and more responsive with controls for most Wii games. That is one reason why I didn't pick Madden 07 up for the Wii because I was worried the controls wouldn't be so great being the first one out on the Wii.

I would probably give the game a solid 7/10 the graphics aren't the best, the controls being a little bad at times, rosters not being full, and no online game play kind of brought this game down. Otherwise it's still a fun game worth renting to try it out before purchase to see how you like it. I also highly recommend doing the tutorial.
