Just got The Black Mages' self titled album. For those of you who don't know who The Black Mages are, go here.

I only heard a couple songs from them before now, and I have to say it's pretty good. Got it on ebay for only $8 USD. And nobody was bidding on them. If you want to get this CD, go to ebay and bid on one, or do Buy it Now.
 
Yeah, I downloaded that album awhile ago, I love it, I like the Jenova song and FFVI battle song, the Gilgamesh song from FFV is also good, but I barely played that game. Anyone who is into rock and likes FF music should check it out, I think there's a site where you can listen to 2 free tracks, don't have the URL handy though.

awwww i only got one song.. the song from FF7, tis really good though

is there anymore in there dat are hidden away somewhere?
 
Very nice music. I may have to buy thier album to see what else they've got on it.
 
I bought it a while back. It's the CD I listen to while driving. I think it's one of the best FF "real instrument" collections out there. It's at least a change from the easy listening piano/vocal collections like Pray and Love Will Grow (which I have and like also). It's great hearing the FF battle themes in heavy metal the way I imagine they were intended. If I have any complaints, it's that the synth keyboard gets the lead more than the guitars. I could do without the synths. In my oppinion, a synth in game and a synth live don't sound that different. It's still an electric bleep sound. The Black Mages would be much better if the instrumentation were left at the guitars, bass and drums. There are several parts of the CD when the keyboard is playing the melody and I think it would sound much cooler with a wailing electric guitar. There are some tracks where the keyboard fits in nicely (FFVII's Boss Battle theme for example), but in about half the tracks, I think it sounds off.

Hmm

Daaaamn this album rocks!!! :D It's on my minidisc labelled friday and that what i listen to on the bus ride home (long weekend of FFXIing)

Ill have to pay for this one if i can find it cheap
 
Just listening The Skies Above, I think it's the best song from Black Mages... Personally I think that both albums are the best of the arranged Final Fantasy albums.

I've also been listening to The Black Mages for a little bit. I downloaded it without really knowing what it was, and haven't really been able to stop since. Dancing Mad is by far my favourite on there though, I could listen to it for hours and hours.

Of course, Dancing Mad is my fav FF song period, so it wasn't much of a contest.
 
The Black Mages II was just released a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, you won't be able to find a very good deal on eBay yet since it's still new. I saw it on sites starting at $25 USD +S&H and they went up. Although, I did find one copy on eBay for only $4 USD plus $9 S&H (because it's coming from Hong Kong). If you look you might get lucky and find something like that.

I had the first BLM's album for a while :P

I had no idea the second one was released untill about half way through January and I was like "OMG!!! w00t!!!"

Downloaded them to find that somehow the second album was better than the first!
 
The only song I got from The Black Mages is the boss battle song from FFVIII
called, Force Your Way. Then I got a few good songs from The Black Mages second album. Hunters Chance from FFIX... anywho those songs are kewl :D
 
Lol, i downloaded the music to both of their Cds, and they *rock*. the only song im really dissapointed that they havnt done yet is One Winged Angel. Other songs that come to mind are Terra's theme, Cosmo Canyon, and Liberi Fatali. Hell, where are the rocked out versions of choco songs!?

LOL it's cool, Demon. And actually, The Black Mages HAVE done One Winged Angel...it's the version that's going to appear in Advent Children. If you've seen one of the many trailers that's been released you can hear a Rock version of the song in the background, that's the Black Mages.

It's just the normal battle music. not the boss.

And I heard that the Black Mages are no more. :(
