The boomerang that wont come back

Nice, the old one looked stupid
Button layout was identical to the old one, it just has longer handles (which are needed), and the shoulder pads aren't shaped so poorely. I really don't understand the dislike. Who cares if it looks like a boomarang if it works.

Oh well, the old controller will always live on in photoshop memories....

QFT

I don't see what the big deal was with people not liking this. The just rounded the corners. It's the exact same controller.

I wanted that controller, then I could act like Crocodile Dundee and be "down under"! But anyways, nothing was wrong with it, it's the same controller as the current ones, just improved, hope they don't change it too much.

Bajaratt, lets not forget EA beating concepts to death. Rather, making a quick buck off the hot concept, patching their product once, maybe twice, then moving on to the next project, never to return again. Yet people keep buying product from them, like the girl going back to the abusive boyfriend, thinking "it will get better". I hate EA. :(

I'm so sad they bought Westwood and Maxis T.T C&C Renegade.. so great in its prime with decent servers...

I don't like the way the face buttons look on the boomerang pad, they look too flat and spread out.

EA doesn't make only bad games. *puts in Need for Speed: Underground* WHEE

I'm well aware of companies recycling their games, but Sony and Microsoft have more identical games within genres than just characters. The games all begin to play exactly the same, they all copy the same model and don't bother to introduce . Nintendo is where new genres are made, Sony and Microsoft are where they're done to death, but with better and better graphics. Megaman hasn't been on a Nintendo console in a good while, but it's still on the handhelds; and Mario's been through more genre's than any other character I can think of so it's not just the same game with new characters.

WTF you can't compare third party games to first party games, that's like comparing Halo to Area 51, Zelda to Aidyns Chronicles, etc... The reason Mario's been through more genre's than any other characters, especially lately, is because alot of third parties are no longer releasing their games on the Cube. Now don't get me wrong, Nintendo's handhelds are great. As for the revolution I'll wait and see about that, because we all know Innovation isn't always a good thing....(See GC->GBA Link, E-Reader)

Actually, I really can. The third party games, although that's where a lot of the best games come from, also create all of the redundancy. That's in no way saying that nintendo's first party games are better than all third party games, but nintendo doesn't make 10 versions of the same game with different charcters; not counting sequals.

Actually, I liked the GC > GBA link, the only 2 games to use it were good. Most of my friends didn't have a GBA or the link, so it would have been nice(as in, we could actually play the game) if they could have just used a controller, but the games were still fun.

lol, Marajade, EA Sports is the biggest joke I've ever heard of... I definitely agree with you on that count. Yet people continue to shell out for that shit year after year.

Um...EA has some awsome PC games. Most of the sports games are pretty kickass also. Fight Night Round 3 for the 360 kicks so much ass you better wear head gear while playing it. Battlefield 2 is one of the best FPSs out. All of the Medal of Honor games rock. The Sims is fun for a few mins. Madden is a staple in electronic football. Personally though I would like to know what was wrong with the LotR games and what are these countless PC flop games.

Battlefield 2 is so bug-riddled it's almost unplayable. Until you have experienced the "red name" bug several times, the very laggy and the game itself is poorly coded. Is it fun? Yes. But it's not anything I'd ever want to get "serious" with. BF2 is by far from one of the best FPSes out there. It is, however, one of the most popular.

Madden may be a staple in electronic football, but every year there is so little change in the game you may as well call them "Roster Update 2006". Yet, people continue to shell out for it in hopes a new player gets a few stat boosts, or they can play their favorite rookie.

And I'm not going to put words in Marajade's mouth, but the "flops" are when they put a game out, such as C&C Generals: Zero Hour (which I understand was a big RTS hit), or even Battlefield 2, and continue to leave major bugs and balance issues in the game unchecked, all but abandoning said games in favor of putting out more fun-for-a-while product. EA doesn't give a shit about the people PLAYING the games, they're just a business here to make money. I find it very ironic that a company whose slogan, "Challenge Everything", changes and challenges almost nothing, from title to title.

Note: I did hear that Friday Night FIghts for the 360 was pretty nice, though. :)

Ok well maybe you need to upgrade you PC or possibly use the filters that they give you to search for a game in BF2. The red bug does suck, but if you are the one that has it all you have to do is jump teams or exit/enter the server again. I never get any lag on the servers I play in, and what other FPS lets you use cars, tanks, helos, planes, artillery, and a very organized squad/commander fuction?

When you have something as good as the Madden franchise is, why would you do a drastic overhaul of it?

Actually they do update their games if there are bugs or balance issues. the only problem is there are just as many people that bitch about "fixes" as there are people that bitch about bugs. You can't please everyone, but I've downloaded a few patches for BF2 since it came out and while some say they are good, there are also servers that I can't play on anymore because the admins of them didn't like the fix. I would really like to know what the problems with C&C Generals was. I played the hell out of that when I was in Iraq on our little wireless network we set up and truthfully I never saw any inbalance other than the skills of some players that would jump on. Is there some glitch you know about that we missed because we were having too much fun playing the game?

Personally there are only 2 things I dilike about EA. 1) the James Bond games, 2) the fact that they charged you to play online games for the PS2. Other than that I give them a thumbs up for the products that they put out.

no, they just make a game with the same plot, same characters, same music, and virtually the same gameplay with some new additions. I will admit that Nintendo is fun and has some pretty fun games but a lot of them are just repeats.

I'd perfer the PS3 controller to keep the same layout but just be bigger than the PS1 or 2. I was playing God of War last night and my left hand cramped up my pinkie went numb. I need bigger grips. :D

I borrowed this game from my friend, however....my dang PS2 won't play it!

You know what, come to think of it, they can make the controller any shape they want to. Just don't make a product that is going to crap out on people within 3 years, and not allow them to play God of War. That is all I ask.

My PC is completely fine, was top of the line when I put it together in December. BF2 just sucks in my opinion, there are much better shooters out there for my money. (And look up stats for rune.kan3 if you think I don't like the game just because I may be garbage at it.)

I will always like the original X-box controler over the Dual Shock. I have long fingers :spiteful: and the PS2 controler blows for FPS's. The staggered sticks on the box are way more comfortable, and the grips were WAY more durable, the nubs are gone on my cousins PS2.

The boomerang failed to me because it looked like the gap between your thumb and your finger was too far, that would seriously hurt after a while. After looking at the pic posted, it actually doesn't look that far, in fact the whole thing looks VERY small, the sticks look like the c-stick on the 'cube.

As for it being thrown out because people didn;t like it: Smart move, people didnt like the 'cube controler either, and I'd wager it didn't help geting developers involved.
