The boomerang that wont come back

EA has some great sports games. TW is one of the best golf games around and Im still in love with NCAA football.

no, they just make a game with the same plot, same characters, same music, and virtually the same gameplay with some new additions. I will admit that Nintendo is fun and has some pretty fun games but a lot of them are just repeats.
You know what, say whatever you want; it's not worth the effort to argue with you and prove you wrong, again. When you refuse to admit that adding a third dimension to a previously 2D game changes the game, you're beyond all logic.

Yeah, Nintendo gets the props for making Mario into a 3D game.
But while they were the first, lets not call them anywhere close to the best.
FFVII, first FF as a 3D game. I doubt i have to tell you which did better.

Battlefield 2 is one of the best FPSs out.
This could be further from the truth, but that'd involve leaving the universe to do so.
Star Wars Battlefront 1&2 kick its ass, and they're based apon the sams system.
And in terms of FPS, Half Life/Counterstrike will blow it to pieces. BF2 isnt really a FPS anyways, its a tactical combat game.
Theres also Call of Duty (not CoD:Souce) which has a much larger following.

it changes the game in a sense. Just like mathematics, the math itself doesn't change, there's just much more to it from 2D to 3D etc. The game was similar to 2D it just added another movement way. If you can't accept that than whatever. Indeed it added new moves new camera angles and such. But it was still the 2D type battling with some improvements and new additions just as FF battle systems have mostly been the same through-out its series with new twists and additions.

I don't really care who they listen to, because they are doin it right. They gave us a new way to play video games. With every System. It's always unique at the time it comes out. It's always easy to use. It's always fun to play. Everyone else is gonna see what nintendo does, rate the success of it, then incoporate it into thier own system.

Nintendo invented:

The standard setup, Movement on the left, buttons on the right.
The D-pad
Start and Select Buttons
Shoulder buttons
The diamond setup for action buttons
Hand help gaming
The thumb stick

I'm looking forward to light saber duels with the revolution controller.

Sirry but I have actually used the revolution controlers at the tokyo game show and there comfortable but thats it. The control scheme is horable unique yes a good contoler no!

Have you ever actually... PLAYED Mario 64? I somehow doubt you have.

nintendo doesn't make 10 versions of the same game with different charcters

Umm, are we forgetting Pokemon here? The only other company that comes close to ripping people off like Nintendo does with the same game is Koei. I use to be a huge Nintendo fan like many people here but the Game Cube totally destroyed everything for me...all of Nintendos franchise on the Cube weren't as good as they were on the 64, except for SSBM.

yes, yes I have. And I've played the old marios too for SNES and NES. They are similar in many aspects. Same with the zelda games. There were obviously many additions from one game to the next. I really don't see how people can't see this. 3D and 2D mario and zelda games were alike (zelda being hack and slash, mario being jump on enemy to kill them or throw something at them or even throw them) the only change was that there was a whole new dimension to use to hack and slash or throw something or jump to.

The pokemon games are the same from game to game in the same sense that FFIV = FFV = FFVI. -_- Just because you have a personal bias against the premise of the games, doesn't mean they're bad.

as far as I remember.. didn't all pokemon games have the same plot (lol.. hardly a plot) and same characters and same music and same battle systems? Where as FFIV, FFV, and FFVI were all different in each catagory (other than the battle system and a few musical pieces.)

Red/Blue had the same plot/characters because they were the same game, they were never billed as being different. Yellow was slightly altered but still stayed in the same vein as red/blue.

Gold/Silver again were the same game, thus having the same plot/characters, but they were significantly different from Red/Blue/Yellow. A little after those came out, Crystal was added, which again was a slightly altered variation of Gold/Silver with tweaked graphics and new animations.

Ruby/Sapphire were again completely new, and in this case the plot was actually different between the two versions of the same game (though it was only a minor tweak - one had Team Aqua awakening Kyogre, the other had Team Magma awakening Groudon). Emerald completes this "trio", and has its own differences while still being the "same" as Ruby/Sapphire... I don't know what Emerald changed but it added a whole new area, I know that much.

FireRed/LeafGreen were never billed as unique games. They're remakes of Red/Blue, but with significant tweaks to the mechanics based on Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald and a largish new section at the end.

R/B/Y/FR/LG = G/S/C = R/S/E about as much as FFIV = FFV = FFVI.

Now, go take your preconceptive bias and shove it.

Sequals are not what I'm talking about. Obviously Game #2 will have the same characters and mechanics as Game #1. What I'm talking about is all of the fps games are playing the same, they all use the same features, 90% of the time it's even the same weapons. Occasionally a fps(or any genre, really) will come out with a new feature, but then every fps after that will contain that feature. It exists on Nintendo's consoles as well, but it is far more prolific on Playstation and Xbox.

That you're only attributing redundant games to Nintendo systems, when ALL of the games you're talking about are sequals is what removes any credibility from what you're saying.

Mario64, because as a "3D" game, FF7 didn't do anything at all. FF7 was only 3D in graphical style. It still played entirely 2D, and every FF after that did as well. Claiming it's 3D actually requires the game to use the third-dimension. Not just have polygon-graphical character models. If anything, the only 3D aspect of it is during control of the Airship, but FF6's Airship did the same thing.

Final Fantasy is not true 3D. Past, Present, and Future. Final Fantasy has had the same control scheme, and the same battle system. The only thing thats changed at heart is the camera-angle, From Birdseye to fixed-position, to complete control(FF11 onry, doubt 12 will use it.)

As far as innovation/improving and Nintendo go.

Metroid Prime: Hunters is the best non-PC FPS game I've played, control-wise. The Touchscreen emulates mouse look flawlessly, something the consoles and other handhelds have yet to do.

I hate EA. They're like the popstars of video games, they even have shows on MTV.

Pokemon didn't seem to really be sequels. Neither was one Mario to the next or even one Zelda to the next (though I know a few fans think they are all linked others think they aren't and the creator hasn't said one way or the other XD)

This makes me think of all the Tony Hawk games. Each one implemented some new tiny thing and was used in ever other game which came after that.

This after you say they all were the same game? GTFO
