i have to say i was kinda on the fence about going to see this. i've read the book and it's one of my favorites, and i like the majority of ron howard's movies. However it is a movie, and you know what they say, "The book is better." Ultimately, my curiousity (and a friend) persuaded me to go and see it. The theatre was pretty empty and i found myself explaining alot of stuff to him that wasn't answered in the movie and was pretty basic to the plot line in the book. and apart from the about half of the movie being just plain wrong, i also felt that the major points of suspense in the book were extremely rushed in the movie. Not to mention all the little comic relief stuff that really made the book supurb was gone.

all in all this movie was a much much bigger let down than i had anticipated, i'm not sure i'd say it fails but it most certain doesn't do the book a bit of justice. Does anybody else feel this way that's seen it or am i just being over critical? XD

You're right. The movie does not give you the same level of suspense the book does.

In fact the whole first HALF of the movie was not done as well as it should have been. There was ZERO suspense up until they make it to England. Then it picked up a bit.

Never watch a movie that u have read a book about. You'll never like it =0

that is true most of the time but one of my favorite books and movies Stephen Kings IT. for me both were superb but im a horror movie fan

The story is good and the movie holds to the story and I thought it was entertaining. The book itself is way way overrated. I enjoyed it but it is not on par with some of the better fiction out there. Angels and Demons was much better in my opinion but even that story kind of falls apart towards the end as does the Davinci Code.

Dune's movies were pretty good and accurate to the book :P the davinci code wasn't that bad (ignoring the book) but as accuracy to the book, well I can't say but it seems others have ^^ I really need to read this book x.x

I didn't read the book, and I thought the movie was ok, though I knew like half way through that the girl was it.

The only thing I didn't get was why the existance of Mary Magdalene's corpse would prove that there is Jesus bloodline. So what if they find Mary? If the present day girl and Mary have the same DNA, that only proves that the girl and Mary are somehow related, but not that Mary was Jesus' wife. So again, what's the point?

There was more to it. Along with Mary's body was said to be all the written documents containing information on Mary's and Jesus's lives, marriage, children, and all. That was the ultimate goal. Find the documents, the grail, and destroy the Vatican

Fixed.

I've never read the book, but Klank went ON AND ON AND ON about it on day, drove me up the wall. I didn't really like the movie much. On the contrary, it's one of two movies I actually walked out on...
