The "Do Not Party" List.

Yesterday, as I was leveling my lv 10 SAM, I had to replace my WHM, since he hit 13 (Iamtrini). He was a good guy, so it hurt to have to get rid of him, but it helped us both in the long run. Since we were being.. "watched over" by a lv 30 WHM, I figured a DD would speed up EXP. But then another pt member (DD) had to go, so I invited a Rank 7 (!) MNK, Euphacent. (good MNK) Also replaced the WHM with this fucking arrogant taru, Zutaru. I swear to god, I will never, ever, even whem forced to choose between a mnk / rdm and him, NEVER invite this person to the same party as myself, EVER again.

I invite him, and he's at the HP in the dunes, near our camp.

Not known for taking shit? He's rank 2. how can he be "known"? Even im rank 3, on the last mission.

One fight later, Ive taken about two Cure's worth of damage. He doesnt cure me till right before the next fight.

In the lag from me engaging mob after its been pulled, constantly "Hey Kyo" "wanna join the fight?" Of course, no WHMs were about to replace him. I put up with his shit for the first (and final) time.

Another WHM, this time a total idiot noob. Im leveling my lv 16 NIN, WHM decides to leave the PT since everyone else left, vowing to return If I get 5 members. We already had 4 including the WHM, so i invite a DD, and he says he already got a PT killing lizards (at lv 16). So I Invite the only English WHM about, Hirococo. Total. Noob. We have a RNG about, and she takes it upon herself to cast Dia on a nearby Snipper (camp at Oasis). Everybody is asking "WTF just happened?" Hiro steps in and says "It didnt look like anyone else was doing anything, so I pulled something." Imagine if she had fucked up and pulled a leech???So first I tell her do NOT pull and do NOT cast Cure II in battles. She calls me an ass for telling her, your common noob response, blah blah blah. A few pitiful battles later she stands outside of the Oasis, getting Gambler aggro. She stands there curing the PT like nothing happened. tank asks "Um.. what are you doing...?" "Im healing, what does it look like"? I say "Heh, you might wanna zone that." she finally starts heading for selbina. Lucks out on a stray Cure 3, eventually zones. She was so far away, I thought she 2HR'd. She was upset at me for thinking she was a noob. (which she was). I hate the dunes. Utterly hate it.

An easy way to get craploads of money, would be to offer a powerlevel service for those who qualify (Subjob, advanced job acquired) and only if they arent maining whats being powerleveled. (I.E. THF to 15 or something, or sub to Qufim lv). You could pay per level. I dunno.

HELL NO!!!!!!!!!!

Having a leveled subjob and having acquired and advanced subjob is in NO WAY determinent of a player's competence in this game. For instance, I tried getting NIN up in the dunes. Got in a PT with a PLD... I told him 3 times that he needed to provoke when:

1. I was starting to take damage (needed to re-apply Utsusemi);
2. I couldn't hold hate.

That guy was going freestyle. I just finished applying Utsusemi, voke the mob, and he goes ahead and voke it back like clockwork. Heck, I've even seen him throw a Cure on the mob! That guy needed to learn a bit more about how NINs can contribute to PTs (not much else than blink-tanking and a bit of elemental debuffing), and how to set healing macros properly.

So no, no PLing unless you actually KNOW the person, and KNOW HE KNOWS how most jobs interact in a PT as well as how his job works in multiple PT setups.
 
wow... lol... Whenever im LVing NIN in the dunes, I always tell the war how to blink tank... and make it idiot-free by telling them when..... as easy as "voke now"
 
I really haven't been in a lot of parties with nin. As a level 19 PLD if there is a nin in the party I always ask them before the first pull how they want to handle the tanking and to let me know If there's something I should be doing differently. I'm still learning a lot about how the different jobs interact. I personally prefer if it the nin let's me know when to voke it. I suppose that the more parties I'm in that include nin that may not be necessary.
 
I told him once as we geared up for our first fight, and I repeated it twice during the next two fights. I didn't get anything from him, not even an "ok". Made a quick /sea, and no indication that he was Japanese.

...Maybe he was Cantonese?

So I get the invite into this pt after being pointed at by Inguo several times. After the invite, as I wait for what I saw on the Member List to sink in, I see Davion and Inguo saying "come on lets go", as if the PT was ok and ready to level. Me and chainer (the only ones noticing a problem with the PT) start trying to make sense of wtf it was that just happened, telling these guys that this PT cannot possibly work, while we get "..."s from Davion and Inguo. I tell them that me being tho lowest lv in the party, + the 4 other members, + the 5 level gap, + the BSTs pets will make my EXP nil. Not that the PT could fight anything in the first place. I tell them that im gonna write down the PT layout for future reference, and the BST chimes in: " oh i wont use any pets unless we need to, so its ok". I disband, /disgusted at Davion, Inguo, and the BST for their utter noob-ness, and seek. About a minute later, a Taru MNK walks in and invites me. His dialect riddled with the usual "ne" and "1" abbreviations, he manages to get a full PT going (all lv 11, me being the only 9 >_<). After many more minutes of waiting (gonna start soloing crap instead of waiting like a damn fool), everyone gathers at the Konschtat zone. Leader Taru MNK decides we'll take an IT Lizard. The WHM stands amongst the melees, curing away, while the THF takes damage into the near-red zone somehow. (Had a BLM, but wearing noobRSE armor. when asked, "I have no money and nobody seems to want to just give me any. (Dalolah)) I get
about 134 EXP, and Sathe, the WAR, says, "40 TNL!"

Myself being the only underleveled person, I figure I'll have to leave the party next fight. Instead, the next IT lizard decides to kill the tank (Hahaha!). The WHM uses Benediction, not before I die of Poison. I HP, turns out they tried to zone, ended up killing it, I get my lv, disband, type this out.


So yeah, feel free to add names to this list of bad PTers.

In my own defense, that was first time partying on FFXI, I've learned from my own mistakes, I had never made my own party before, my god I only had the game about 2 weeks.
 
Having this thread come back from the dead after so many months makes me wonder how badly i layed when I started... :(

Plus I wanna add that nobody on this game is perfect I hate the fact that Kyozabi is acting so self-righteous in a since like he's never been new to a game and made mistakes. I also wanna add that he's been in parties with former LS members and he complained about the EXP even when the party lvls were even. I dont know what lvl he's at now, dont really care. I just had to defend myself cause I only had the game for 2 weeks or less. Plus ppl that have partied with me now know I'm an uber BLM ^.^

Ok I got a couple people in mind. This was a level 58-59 pt we set up in Jeuno. I dont remember everyone that was in it but the list included Ranphamansura, MrKiller, Teomar. Ranphamansura was our whm and really I have no complaints about her, she was good at her job but just a little map ditsy. We were going to originally camp in valley of sorrows. So we got the teleport altep and made our way to kuftal tunnel. I usually have sneak and invis items on me and this was no exception. I remember making a comment becuase the rng teomar saw cactrot rapido. I said something like So what, its not like we can take it and theres no way your going to solo it. He must have had ADD or something becuase he thought I was talking about this antican that he was looking at so he says "wanna bet?" Not really caring I said to keep heading toward the camp. As we were going through kuftal we all got out sneak and invis up and were running through it when I noticed that teomar was still in the desert. "Get over here already!" is what I said. At the same time we were nearing the cape terrigan zone (about 2/3rd's the way there) when Mrkiller's sneak obviously wore out so he uses "flee"!!!! I say "Omg dont be a n00b man" Too late though as he had this huge ass train of crabs and was heading towards the zone :\. Well he died at before he hit the zone luckily ^_~ and then we find out that teomar has also died. "Wtf guys stop waisting time damnit" Ranphamansura had to go and raise both of them. I cant remember who exactly it was but on the way to the north camp in valley of sorrows someone took a wrong turn and landed in gustav tunnel. He cant get back so we all decide just to PT in gustav tunnel. On the way there me and the DRK make it to the camp, Ranphamansurra gets a little lost, Mrkiller dies from gobs and pugs (on the way there) and she is trying to find him. All of a sudden I see teomar heading towards us at the camp (stll just me and drk at the time) with a crab in tow. "Wth man, are you tring to fucking kill us?" of course he died right there on the spot and I'm saved by my sneak oil. Note: this is 2 deaths before we even START exp'ing. So the rdm comes in and casts raise 1 on the rng. I'm laughing to myself as he accepts it then he says "wtf, why did you use raise 1 on me??" Eventually everyone makes it to the camp and we start pulling (1 hour already gone by). While the PT starts Mrkiller shouts out that he wants to pull, I told him it was probably a better idea for the rng to pull (neither really apealed to me as pullers though :\) As we are playing we get a bunch of n00b questions from Mrkiller like "How do I make macro's that tell me when my abilities come back" or something to effect. he was also thf/war I'd like to add. I send /tell's to the rest of the pt telling how crappy these guys are. All of them agree with me and we also started theorising that Mrkiller bought his account. Come on, Kingdom Aketon and asking how to make macro's? F that. We end up finding out that he 'aquired' his account. Teomar has crappy EQ and made some really poor decisions during the whole pt. To make a long story short, dont PT with Mrkiller and Teomar, ; ;

He was a decent blm....but he was AFK...a LOT. And unfortunately, he got away with it..

aww i remember my 1st week playing, I stayed La thein platue till i was about 16 RDM/WAR in a PT chaing bird for 67 exp, I belive we were making progress, boy thoes where the days
 
I don't know why such an old thread was brought back with such a worthles reply, but I might as well contribute.

I was partying on my 54 monk and we were going to party in kuftal tunnel. The whm was good, I'd partied with him before, and the rest of the pt seemed ok. One of the pt members was afk before the teleport, so the whm was waiting at the entrance of the zone to sneak them. So, me, the drk(Papillion) and the rdm(i forget the name) were all headed to the cape terrigan zone, since I knew it was clear.

We get just past the amemit room, and the drk suddenly starts getting hit from a bunch of robber crabs. I watch him die, since me trying to do anything would mean both our deaths. The rdm, who was with us, tried to help him and died. My sneak starts wearing, so I run back to the amemit room and get in a safe spot to use another oil and pretty much stay here for most of the rest of this.

At this point, the whm asks what happened, and the drk says he lost sneak and got aggro. I ask them drk, "why didn't you say anything then?" He responds with "I did." Now, I didn't remember him saying that, but I might have missed it, so I check my log. I didn't see anything in my log, so I tell him that I checked my log and he didn't say anything. He never responds.

Well, after a while the party gets underway. Papillion is supposed to be first voke so that the thf can sata onto the pld, SOP for parties with thf. Only in the first fight, he doesn't do anything, so the pld vokes after people start getting low and starts tanking. I'm not sata bitch at this point, so I get to enjoy tanking while the pld gets hate back. Halfway through the fight, Papillion says "ok, back, had to take a piss." He never said a damn thing about going afk, I double checked my log.

For the remainder of the fights (maybe 7 of them) he doesn't voke first for about 15 seconds, if at all. After the 4th fight, I /tell the whm that i'm going to be first voke, he agrees, so I tell the party that I'll be voking first. For the last 3 fights, the party runs smoothly, other than he doesn't use his weapon skill when he's supposed to, just waiting way too long so I take a beating when I'm holding hate. After those fights, the whm, rdm(different rdm than the first) and I tell everyone we're leaving. We teleport out and start a new party without the drk
 
ya...i was wondering how in the hell that happened...lol old ass post Davion is in my Static PT is a badass BLM to boot >_> lol this must be holy sh*t old, anyone know when? (considering Davion is 63BLM now >_>)
