Girls Day is a decidedly Japanese event. Most Americans have never even heard of it. Honestly, I don't even know that much about it.

alll i (think) know is march 3 or 3/3 is girls day, 5/5 (?) is boys day and 8/8 is fuji telivision day (fujitv is channel 8).

Girls Day is a decidedly Japanese event. Most Americans have never even heard of it. Honestly, I don't even know that much about it.

lol, Everybody celebrates it here, its even on my calendars at work. Guess I forget I live in my own little world sometimes. =P

Its pretty big here we buy Mochi for all the girls and do stuff, give cards, candy and all that.

Its Hina festival in japan, and its for girls ONLY =p. Traditional japanese families have tiered (look like stairs) setups with red cloth, top level being emperor/empress dolls. Varies after that, mine had 3 servants on next lvl
then samurai, musicians, etc... kinda expensive. The dolls are silk. and on hina festival day girls get parties

I've seen this in a few animes. Hamtaro is the only one I can think of right now. Is this where the 'hina' comes from in Love Hina?
