Third Job
Ninja-Male
To be honest, I am not the kind of person who enjoys "Role-Playing". However, I do enjoy writing, and I am rather good at creating short stories.
I am currently underway for quite a while, as many know, and in my spare time, I will be writing a story for this board. Although I do not enjoy RP, I will put everything I have into this story, merily for the sake of a good read for everyone interested. Dont worry, it will not be corny, but will leave much to the imagination.

If you would like me to post my work as I write it, section by section, post here and express interest in such. However, if you would like the finalized version only once it is complete, also again, excpress your interests of such by posting here.

I promise you a good read.

I like to read a story chapter by chapter. mainly because i only get a chance to browse the forum at work so its easier to read one chapter and come back later and then read the next chapter once its put up.

Since it was requested I post chapter by chapter, here ya go.
Also, fixed some things that didnt directly translate from MS word.

The Entity
Chapter 1
As the storm loomed darkly in the skies overhead, Namir hid among the shadows, watching… waiting. It was beginning to get cold now, Namir’s knuckles and fingers were getting numb with the decreasing temperature, he would have to move soon. He let out a sigh, slumping among the smooth surface of the crag, bored and tired. Perhaps he had been wrong to attempt spying on the Tenshodo, he was sure he had the information he had picked up pegged. Feeling discouraged, Namir began to rise to his feet, the numbness from the cold making him stiff and rigid not aiding him. Namir’s ears perked suddenly, detecting a faint hint of sound in the distance. The clouds above let out a loud thunderous roar, sounding threatening, almost as if they were alive and angry.
“No… just your imagination, the storm is playing tricks on your mind”, he reassured himself.
He began his ascent again from his half squatting position, noting the air’s shift in moisture.
“It’s about to rain… damnit!”, he thought.
Almost as if on cue, he felt the first tender, cold droplets litter his face and clothing. The skies cackled loudly, ominously, laughing at whomever it caught in its wake. It was bitter cold now, the rain nearly freezing as it fell. Namir took one step, and froze, senses alert, he felt his spine tingle. He closed his eyes, leaned up against the crag, and focused on the sounds of the storm. A chill crawled along his backside as he drew in the essence of the air with each breath; Namir knew some other presence was there, and he was going to find out exactly who and more importantly what he was sensing. As Namir drew in his breath and calmed his nerves, time slowed. Each droplet of rain that struck his body took a lifetime to strike, shift mass from the impact, and seemingly explode. The air wisped around him, slowly, carefully. Another thunderous roar was let loose from above, and seemed to continue in to eternity. The sound of the rain slowed to the sound of Namir’s heartbeat, as steady as the beat of a drum. In the distance, ever so soft, he made out the slow, faint pattern of footsteps, carefully masked to make little to no sound.
“Trademark of the Tenshodo”, he thought, “Sneak in, get the job done, sneak out, all without a trace.”
A small grin spread across Namir’s face, he knew now that he was in the right place, that he had infiltrated the Tenshodo and deciphered their meeting place correctly.
The footsteps quickened, and Namir increased his focus, his hand sliding to his long bow, it never hurt to be prepared. There was something missing… he had pinpointed the Tenshodo’s movement off towards the abandoned mines, but… something just still felt wrong. Namir opened his eyes. Thick fog lay around him now, risen up with the wet and damp fields. He turned around and pressed his body close to the smooth marble like surface of the crag. He inched his way around the bend, so that a better view of the mines might be had, but he had no such luck, the fog by now was too thick.
“Strange…fog rolling in like this all in a matter of seconds… something is definitely not right here...” his mind trailed.
He drew his bow, ready for what lie ahead, he moved carefully and silently towards the Mines of Gusgen, the rain and effectively hiding him. If he was correct about the Tenshodo being here, they certainly were doing a good job of hiding their whereabouts. He had been tracking the band of thieves’ movements for quite some time now, aware that something was in the mix. The Tenshodo didn’t affiliate themselves with the outside world, they kept their small band of ninjas and thieves very tight. However, nothing was too tight for Namir. His nickname from many was the Silent Stalker, a name he had always prided himself on.
His thoughts flashed momentarily to his time hiding amongst the Tenshodo hideout in Jeuno… what he had heard there had definitely caught his attention, and eventually had led him here.
“Tomorrow night… is the night we have been waiting for. We’ve received word that he is to arrive near the Gusgen Mines, we must be ready!” one said in a clear and concise voice.
“I don’t understand though! What on earth are we going to do? We’re not about to go and meet him are we? That would be suicide!” another yelled.
“Silence, and have faith. Aldo would never let us sustain a defeat, it would cripple the Tenshodo!” the first man said again. Obviously this one was a messenger of some sort, and reported directly to a higher authority, Namir noted such.
His thoughts trailed back as he silently made his way closer to the mines; he un-quivered an arrow, staying alert and ready. The fog was still too thick for him to see into the distance, but it wouldn’t matter soon, he was nearly to the entrance to Gusgen. He stopped, realizing just then what it was that was missing the entire time.Lightning. This storm had no lightning! The clouds continued to bellow their unholy sounds, but there was never one strike of lightning beforehand.
“My god, what is going on here tonight?” he cursed.
Slowly, he made on his way again, trudging through the slick grass and pressing his back to the canyon wall. The rain poured hard now, each drop stinging his neck where they landed; he pulled his hood over his head.
“Good” he thought,I’ll be concealed this way, even if I am found they won’t be able to identify me.”
As Namir drew closer to Gusgen, he observed the abandoned mine crates littering the canyon walls.
“I’m getting close now”, he noted.
A sound quite unlike anything he had ever heard rang from the demonic clouds, a terrible groan, almost angry sounding resounded into the most air. Namir halted immediately diving behind a crate, long bow at the ready.
He looked around the edge of the crate, carefully avoiding being seen. He saw them all, the entire Tenshodo it seemed standing no more than 50 feet away. He had almost ran right into them! They seemed even more alert to the sound the sky had uttered even more than he was. All of them were staring, baffled up into the clouds, and rightly so. A huge formation of clouds were being sucked back into the sky, almost as if they were forming a reverse vortex, a backwards tornado!
“Oh my lord, what in the hell is going on here?!” his mind screamed.
A brilliant flash of lightning struck just in front of the group in front of him, so bright that Namir and the Tenshodo had to shield their eyes from the blast. An explosion followed suit immediately, sending some of the Tenshodo flying into the night. Namir shielded himself behind the crate again, terrifed of the situation. He curiously peered out again, and was transfixed, horrified at the sight before him.
“…My god!” he uttered, eyes open in terror.
What he saw next was the most horrible and gruesome scene he had ever bore witness to.
He wished he never saw it.

:must not hijack post with thoughts of a pile of dead babies:

oops... =P good game sir, continue writing.

Started writing in the italics and bold style html stuff directly into it, here's chapter two. May need a bit of tweeking, but its pretty good I think.
Edit: Fixed some grammatical errors, as well as a couple of typos, and excessive word useage. ( I could have sworn I missed an incorrect useage of "to" when it should have been "too", but now that I am looking for it, I of course cannot find it -.-)

Chapter 2
Namir kneeled on the wet ground and stay there, frozen on the scene outlying before him.
His eyes were opened wide, unable to shut them from the horrific sight. Impervious to the rain, Namir rose to a slight crouch, unsure if what he was feeling should be fascination, or horror. Before him lie several of the Tenshodo’s members, strewn about from the explosion that followed suit of the brilliant flash of lightning. All of them stared at the blast sight in terror. As the surrounding smoke cleared the area, barely visible was a shadow standing tall, masked nearly invisible by the rain. His eyes were illuminated a brilliant red, a deep, crimson red, that reminded Namir of blood. The man stepped out further into the night air, seeping in the damp environment. He became clearly visible then, a tall Elvaan, with thick, flowing black hair, and a devilish smile. Namir recognized him immediately, he was Kogi, the rebellious monk that had presumably disappeared years ago.
“What on earth is Kogi doing here, alive?” he thought. “He was announced dead years ago by his master, who claimed to have taken Kogi’s life himself! I-” his thoughts were cut short by what he witnessed next. An enormous figure, standing nearly as tall as the canyon itself towered behind Kogi, who’s eyes now were a more brilliant color than before. Namir saw Kogi’s devilish grin, and was afraid. As the huge figure moved forward it shook the earth with each step, nearly knocking Namir off his feet. Still, he kept his focus on towering beast standing behind Kogi, scared, curious, and amazed all at the same time. The massive figure became visible through the storms flare, and began gazing down at the quivering figures of the Tenshodo laying before it.
“Stop!” a powerful voice said, breath ringing into the air.
The giant figure stopped advancing, the earth abruptly stopped shaking.
Namir glanced at Kogi, who hadn’t said a word. A third figure became visible then, sitting on the beasts shoulder! Namir could recognize this one, he had a very large, elegant looking claymore strapped to his shoulder, he looked to be a Hume, from what Namir could tell, and had eyes even more brilliantly glowing than Kogi did. The man lept off of the beasts shoulder, a drop of at least sixty feet at least, and landed squarely.
He advanced forward, Namir terrified of this man’s mere presence. Namir was no longer focused on the great beast behind him, this man… felt like the cold hands of death were reaching from his body. He smiled, and as he did so, a great aura seemed to envelope his body. He raised his arms into the air, and looked skyward. The giant beast’s eyes flared a brilliant white as he did this, and the beast let out a roar so terrifying it sent Namir into quivering shivers. Aware that his movements were no longer his to control, Namir let go, and just watched, the only thing he could possibly do. Kogi began laughing now, a horrific, evil laugh, it sounded almost… mocking, as if it were mocking the very existence of those before him. Kogi looked down, directly at the cowering Tenshodo members, his expression turned serious.
“Aha, so the Tenshodo did arrive. Why were you following my movements?” Kogi demanded.
No one from the Tenshodo spoke, they were to fixated on the seeming bonding between the other man, and the giant towering beast behind, its eyes still lit a brilliant white.
“I will ask again, WHY ARE YOU TRACKING ME?” his voice rang out.
A brief silence followed suit, and Kogi seemed to wait patiently. A man stood up then, gathered himself, and brought his focus to Kogi.
“Kogi, what have you done?” he asked weakly. Namir recognized this man’s voice as the one that commanded the Tenshodo while he was spying that night in Jeuno. He was a tall, solid looking Hume, but looked nothing like Kogi. Kogi was enormous, even by Elvaan standards. Powerful muscles rippled down the Elvaan’s body, from his years training as a monk. He almost seemed unnaturally strong.
Kogi shook his head.
“And who are you?” he inquired.
“I am Teron, second in command to the Tenshodo” he said defiantly, “and I will not let you and your evil…” he paused, and stared briefly at the Hume man, and the giant beast behind them, “Brethren… take hold of this land” he finished.
Kogi closed one fist, and brought it chest level, clearly angered. He opened his mouth to speak, but another roar from the giant beast interrupted him. The giant creature was bipedal, towering over all in the canyon. It had a great, powerful tail that protruded so far that it went in to the entrance to the mines. Its features were strong, so powerful looking that it seemed like the beast could snap any one of them like a toothpick.
The Hume standing next to Kogi lowered his head and arms, staring at the ground. He slowly lifted his head. Namir attempted to see the mans face, but the rain and his fanged skullcap prevented him from getting a clear view, whatever this man was, it frightened him more than anything he had ever encountered in his time being a ranger.
“That is enough Kogi. We are not concerned with the Tenshodo…” his powerful voice echoed. He looked down at the Tenshodo members, still none of them moving. All eyes were on this man, all of them renewed with a fresh sense of terror. “You were foolish to come here” he bellowed “And I’m afraid you will all, each, and every one of you, pay for your trespassing.”
He laughed then, a terrible, terrible howl against the rain and wind. His expression became very grim. He began chanting, a low, awkward grumble from deep within himself, his eyes burned blue.
“Great God Kirin! KILL THEM ALL!” he yelled.
Namir couldn’t believe it, this entity, this terrible Hume looking man, had command of a god itself? His entire life rumor’s the of the gods’ very existence spread through the lands, but never had any sort of evidence to them being something physically real ever shown up! And Kirin himself! The greatest god of all, at the command of this powerful man.
Namir could not move, he stared, still fixated. The great god bellowed then, and took a step forward. Its eyes were burning an evil red as it raised its fists into the air, and hammered them down onto the quivering bodies of the Tenshodo. As its fists exploded into the ground, Namir heard shrieks of pain and death follow, and the earth and grass sprayed into the air. The god took one step forward, and plucked man from the ground, he was terrified, and cried and pleaded. Un-phased by the mans pleas, Kirin slammed its hands together, crushing him; the impact from the two giant sized fists slamming together hid the noise of the crushing bones and mass. A bloodied corpse dropped from the opening as it spread its arms again. A few of the Tenshodo members had gotten up, and were scrambling, retreating in the opposite direction of the crate Namir was hiding behind. The god raised one arm, and let loose a powerful tornado after them, hailing from the skies like a giant blood thirsty demon. It caught every one of them in its wake, tearing them to peices as it did so. The beast roared in the frenzy, content with its kill. It froze then, motionless, eyes turning back to the brilliant yet complacent white they had been before the attack. Namir couldn’t believe it, three swift moves from this creature and it had killed all of the Tenshodo, they were no more. His mind ached from the enormous amount of pressure he had endured from the night’s course. He didn’t know how long he had until they would find him there, he certainly could make a run for it, he would be caught and torn to shreds in seconds. He waited silently.
“Kogi, let us go now. Let that be a lesson to you. Those who cross me, face death” the man said aloud.
“Yes master” Kogi said, bowing down on one knee.
“Scour the grounds for survivors, and kill all who may have escaped into the night.”
Kogi nodded, and the great god Kirin began to look hazy, shimmering in the air.
“Rest now Great God Kirin, there is more work to be done in the future” the mysterious voice assured.
Kirin began to fade away then, small tracings of light escaping from its massive body as it withered into the air itself. It let out a slight groan as it withered away, until it could be seen no longer.
“Kogi, you know what to do next. Do not fail me” he said. And with that, the terrifying man vanished himself, in a quick flash of lightning, and the skies began to clear. Namir realized he was in trouble now, if the weather cleared up, he was totally exposed, especially with Kogi standing no more than fifty feet away. Afraid and still cowering, Namir shifted back behind the crate, completely out of view, and slung his bow over his back, unsure of what to do next. He put his hands on his face, moving his head back and forth in frustration.
“What on earth have I just become a part of? What were the Tenshodo doing here? What in the name of Altana was that man? A man that can summon the gods? This cannot… this cannot be!” he thought. Namir froze when a firm, unseen hand gripped his forearm. Nearly panicking, he attempted to scoot away as fast as possible, and stopped as the person gripping it, slowly became visible. A sleek, slender form of a Mithran ninja appeared before him, black dressings clearly visible in the moonlight spewing from the sky, courtesy of the retreating clouds. She looked halfway at the ground, while pressing a finger to her lips, indicating to him not to speak. He calmed, realizing a member of the Tenshodo must have escaped the carnage from earlier, typical of a ninja to be able to escape such medium. He wasn’t sure who this person was, or of her intentions, but he wasn’t about to question it with Kogi standing nearby. She drew closer to Namir, coming very close to his ear.
“Listen to me misterrr rangerrr, if you want to get out of this alive, then pay attention, and follow me, I’m going to get us out of herrre” she whispered. Namir nodded intently, still terrified. The ninja squat in front of him, and motioned for him to come to her. Namir obediently scooted closer, as she put her hands out in front of her.
“Tonko no jutsu” she whispered again. A veil seemed to flow over both herself and Namir then, he looked at her, amazed, and saw her fading into the canyon. He looked down at his own hands, and saw them disappearing too! He felt her come close to him again.
“Listen to me misterrr rangerrr, you follow me now. My jutsu will keep you and me safe, but not forrr long” she assured. Namir brought her hand to his face, and nodded. She understood, stood up, took his hand in hers, and fled, speed and grace making it difficult for Namir to keep up. He didn’t care. He followed the woman into the fields, towards the crag, mind numb. He just didn’t care. What he had witnessed was a burden he wished he had never endured on his mind, because now, like it or not, he was a part of whatever it was that happened back there. Once they reached the Crag of Dem, the Mithra propped Namir’s nearly lifelessly moving body up against the cold marble-like stone. She began to appear in front of him, but he didn’t care to focus on her features. He felt so tired then, that it was nearly impossible then for him to keep his eyes open.
The ninja stared at him, curious, and placed one hand on his shoulder.
“Stay with me misterrr rangerrr, stay with me” she purred. Those last moments were all he could handle. His head slumped, and his breathing slowed as his eyelids slammed shut with the mental exhaustion he had endured.
“Altana, may my dreams save me” he thought, as he drifted into a deep, black, slumber.

This story is awsome so far ;p more please!

Thanks for the good reviews so far, I'll do my best to keep up on this, as time allows.
Here's chapter three. May need some spelling revisions, but I'll check those later.

Chapter 3
Namir looked around, confused. Surrounding him was… a desert area, on a high cliff looking out into a valley. He felt parched and exhausted, no thanks to the heat and dust swirling around him. He sat up, shaking his head. He covered his eyes, squinting out into the distance. It was a desert alright, a swirl of dust catching drifting dead plants in the distance, swells of heat shimmering against the sun and distorting the background. Namir stood up, slightly confused. He glanced down at the canyon below him.
“Long fall” he thought. He stared into the sky a moment, attempting to gather himself, wherever he was, it was no where he could seem to remember. His head cocked slightly as he noticed the sky seemingly shimmering, just like the swells of heat rising from the earth.
“What in the…?” he was curious now, as he stared into the shimmering sky. He took a step forward, almost without realizing it. He didn’t know why, but he was hesitant to trust his judgment in this place, nothing seemed right. Shimmering sky? Not normal.
“Misterrr Rrranger” an unseen voice said, the sound of it ricocheting off the canyon walls, rippling through the air. Namir gazed about in a panic.
“Who are you!” he demanded, yelling out loud into the heat.
He felt something moving behind him, and he stood alert. Slowly, he reached around his backside, and put a hand around the base of his long bow. Drawing the bow quickly, he snapped his body around, un-quivered an arrow, and aimed carefully. He was staring into a cave opening, large and very dark inside. Sweat began to pour from Namir’s brow as he watched the cave entrance, his focused gaze intently searching the surrounding areas, intent on finding some hint of movement. He took a step toward the entrance to the cave, alert, and ready. As he drew closer, he began to notice the familiarity of the place he was in, the exact location had seemed like… like he had been here before…
“But when?” he wondered. Detecting no movement, he relaxed his bow, dropping his arms down to a relaxed position. He looked over his shoulder, squinting into the light. As soon as he turned his head, he knew it was a mistake; he had let his guard down. A ferocious snarl was let loose from the cave entrance, and Namir snapped his gaze around just in time to witness a great tiger leaping into the air, straight at him. Namir had no time to aim; it was coming at him at full force. In a last ditch effort to shield himself against the beast, he flung the edge of his bow up in an attempt to parry the tigers jump. It slammed into him, fangs locking onto the wood of the bow, and knocked Namir off his feet. Its claws dug into his legs hard, the weight of the tiger pressing him down so hard he couldn’t move.
“Misterrr Rangerrr, come back!” the voice from earlier rang out, having the same effect as it did before, voice ringing about the canyon and skies. Namir couldn’t focus on the voice, he didn’t have time. The tiger’s powerful jaws and massive fangs bit harder as he jammed the base of the bow further into it’s mouth, attempting to lock the jaw of the beast so he would not be bitten. It snarled fiercely, as much as a fierce snarl could sound like from a pissed off tiger with a locked open mouth could. It reared up on its legs, allowing just enough time to let Namir sit up slightly, propping up on one elbow, he yelled out in pain as the beasts entire weight shifted to its back legs, which were currently digging their claws into Namir’s shins. It fell forward again, aiming its long fangs for Namir’s neck. Reacting as fast as he could, he ripped the dagger strapped to his waste from its scabbard with his propped up arm, and fell backwards from the loss of support, all the while thrusting upward with all his might. Immediately everything went black, the heat, the sky, all of it in the rush Namir was feeling. He felt pressure on his neck, a sharp pressure, unlike anything he had ever felt before.
“Oh god, I’m dead” he thought.
“Misterrr Rrranger, is this yourrr idea of a joke?” a soft, cool voice demanded.
He opened his eyes, staring out into a dimly lit room. He was propped up against the wall, and behind him, was the Mithra ninja he had been with before. She was behind him, holding a katana up to his neck, pressing rather hard, but not hard enough to draw blood.
“You werrrre mumbling in yourrrr sleep” she said, “I was sitting in frrrront of you, trrrying to wake you up.”
Namir glanced around the room, and swallowed hard, mouth feeling dry.
“I’m sorry, I must have been dreaming” he said.
“Some drrream it must have been misterrr rangerrr!” she replied, “You nearrrly stabbed me you know, jabbing like that with yourrr knife, what the hell werrre you drrreaming about?” she pressed, leaning into him. She let the katana drop, and stood to her feet. Namir wasn’t quite ready for the lack of support behind him to disappear, and his head hit the wall with considerable force as she stepped out in front of him.
“Ow” he grunted, sitting up, rubbing the back of his skull.
The ninja laughed, and took off her face dressings. She was very pretty, as most Mithra tended to be. She had a slender face, and wild, white hair that fit naturally around her ears. She had sharp facial features, and two wildly blue eyes. She studied him a moment, looking puzzled.
“You know, you don’t look like Aldo said you would,” she said.
“Aldo?” Namir asked.
“Aldo… the leaderrr of the Tenshodo, surrrely you must have known that Misterrr Rrranger,” she chided. She turned her back to him, removing her hand wraps and tekko, all jet black. He was very puzzled then, unsure of where he was, who this mithra was in front of him, and very unsure as to why the leader of the Tenshodo would know about him. He certainly had never met Aldo before, he had heard mention of the name a few times, but never had put it together that Aldo would be the leader of the Tenshodo. His thoughts trailed to the night before, memories still fresh in his mind. The giant God, Kirin, decimating the Tenshodo like scissors would to paper.
“Or a boulder to a worm” thought. He remembered seeing Kogi, the renegade rebellious monk, who was presumably dead. His eyes… still burned the same brilliant blood red in Namir’s mind. And that other man…
“Arrrre you finished day drrrreaming?” the ninja asked. Namir stared at her a moment, and came to his feet, muscles sore and tired.
“Just thinking about last night…” he said, “I have many questions to ask you, and I’m sure you have a few for me. Let’s talk. First of all, who are you?”
The Mithra laughed again, and sat down on the floor in front of him. She looked almost exotic in the dimly lit room, her fierce features turning serious.
“We have much to talk about Misterrr Rrrranger” she said softly, staring at the floor. Namir followed suit, and sat down again, watching her. She lifted her head, staring him directly in the eyes.
“My name… is Miyana.” Namir’s eyes opened wide.
“And you Misterrr Rangerrr, arre the firrrst outside the Tenshodo, to put a face to that name in a long time,” she assured.
“I’ve heard of you Miyana” Namir said, “Your expertise in ninjutsu is rumored to be unmatched. It’s said that you are one of the very few ninjutsu masters that have mastered the use of elements. Miyana nodded, laughing softly. Namir couldn’t help but stare, she really was quite beautiful.
“Miyana, can you tell me now wha-” Namir began, but was interrupted when Miyana rose a finger into the air.
“Hush, I will tell you everrrrything when the time comes, Misterrrr rangerrr” she interrupted. Namir let out a sigh, feeling strangely at ease around Miyana, even though she was from a faction that never… got along with Namir’s spying all too well, to say the least. And yet here she was, she had obviously saved him, when he passed out the night before, and didn’t seem to mind that he nearly stabbed her in the heart while dreaming. He began to wonder where exactly he was, the only thing he’d seen since he woke up, was this room, and Miyana. The dim light was coming from a single oil lamp lit in the far left corner of the room. There was a table near the door, but Namir was comfortable sitting underneath the light, with Miyana directly under him. He looked back at Miyana, who was studying him, looking almost curious.
“You daydrrream a lot, don’t you misterrrr rrrranger?” she asked. He smiled, and gave a slight nod.
“You don’t need to call me mister ranger Miyana, my name is Namir,” he said.
“The Silent Stalkerrr” she recognized immediately.
“That would be me, yes” Namir said proudly, “can we talk now?”
“Not yet Namirrr” she said “This place isn’t safe forrrr talking, we will move somewherrrre else, we will meet with a frrriend of mine. We have much to do, in not so much time. Get rrrready to go Namirrr.” He nodded, and stood up.
“Where… are we?” he asked.
“Wherrrre else?” she replied confidently “We arrrre inside the Tenshodo hideout.”
She stood up, and Namir followed suit. She walked up to him in a deliberate manner.
“Miyana, you took me all the way back to Jeuno? How on earth did you carry me for so many miles?” Namir inquired, sounding almost demanding.
“You arrre verrry heavy Namirrr” she laughed. He couldn’t believe the small, furry eared woman had carried him all the way back to Jeuno.
Miyana brought her face very close to Namir’s. He looked at her, pulling back slightly, very curious as to what exactly she was doing. He realized just what it was when he felt a sharp pain in his neck, and watched his vision fade.
“Sorrrry Namirrr, rrrules” she purred softly. The last thing he saw before everything faded black was her beautiful face, smiling at him in a most deviant manner.
“Bad kitty” he thought, as his mind slipped into slumber.

lol bad kitty, keep up the good work ^^.

Well done! Keep it coming!

Sorry for the wait, been very busy the last few nights, and didnt get much of a chance to write. Finally got this chapter done, so enjoy, plot thickens now ;)

Chapter 4
The wind howled furiously, the snowfall biting cold as it flew with the cold air. Kogi walked through the snow with ease, taking in the cold air, breathing deep. He glanced forward and to his left to his masters footsteps, walking before him. Kogi shook his head slightly, feeling discouraged. He had always hated the place, Beaucedine. Always bitter cold, and seemingly forever snowing, it proved to be a nearly endless trail. Nevertheless, they had to reach Xarcabard, and the only passage was through the glacier.
“You must not have doubts Kogi. Remember, you must relax,” his master said, sensing his apprehensiveness.
“Master” he said, walking through the cold, “I know he was there.” His master stopped walking, and turned around to face Kogi. Kogi winced a bit, seeing through his masters fanged headdress was not the most pleasurable thing, the lack of eyes his master seemed to have always made Kogi slightly uneasy.
“The time will come for him later” his master stated, sounding absolute.
“Will it?” Kogi inquired, “He’s lost all sight of himself. He doesn’t even know who he is!”
“And he shouldn’t, after the injuries he sustained. Curious, I wonder if he knows anything about his past?”
“I doubt it. If he knew, he would have confronted me! That very night! He hid like a coward and somehow managed to escape!”
“Patience Kogi… everything will come to play, and you will get your chance to have your revenge.”
“I don’t want to wait. I must fight him again! He nearly killed me when we fought, and I nearly killed him. I highly doubt he doesn’t remember his origins, he’s hiding master, like a stinking coward!” Kogi shouted.
“Enough.” his master said sternly, “You will wait Kogi. You will have patience. Trust in me, you will have your chance.” Kogi shook his head slowly, staring at the ground. He looked up, and stared his master in the eyes, all sense of uneasiness gone.
“And when I have my chance, I will-” he stopped, interrupted by the grin on his masters face.
“Kill him,” his master said, stripping the words from Kogi’s mouth. Kogi nodded.
“Come now. We have a long way to go until Xarcabard. Once we get there, everything will unfold as it should. It’s our turn now Kogi. This world will feel our utter hold, and will bow down to me, with you at my side,” he said.
“Things will be easy now, especially with the long since death of the Shadow Lord,” Kogi said.
“It’s time we pay our old demon friends a visit Kogi” his master said, mouth curved upward in a devilish grin. Kogi nodded, shook the snow off his body, and continued on, following his master. As they progressed further into the distance, the snow blew harder, and they disappeared from view.
“I promise you Namir, I will make your death an agonizing one,” Kogi whispered, words disappearing into the blizzard. He turned around a moment, staring at the sea of snow behind him. He shook his head slowly, turning again, and continued on.
“Have you really forgotten? How could you have? Namir, you really are pathetic.” His thoughts stung his mind as if he had a live bee inside his head, and it angered him. Calming his mind, he trudged on, content on the thought of his upcoming plans.

Chapter 5
“Rules…Rules…Your life, it lacks your own rules!” a quiet, child-like voice echoed in the darkness.
“Who are you? I… can’t see you; I don’t lack rules, do I?” Namir stammered, alarmed by his sudden surroundings.
“You have forgotten your place in life my son. You must not ever forget your place!” it echoed everywhere and nowhere at the same time. Namir tried to look around, but could not; there was nothing to look at. Everything was black, nothing could be seen.
“I don’t know…my place? I am who I’ve always been... right?” Confusion was beginning to grab hold of Namir’s mind, he began to panic.
“Who are you?! What have… where? I don’t understand!”
“Have you really forgotten? How could you have? You are pathetic” a different voice said sternly, disgustedly. Namir looked about frantically, hoping to catch a glimpse of something. The flash of steel in the distance caught his eye. What it had flashed off of, he had no idea, everything else was black, but this loan object, was calling to him.
“Remember! You are Namir! This life is not yours to live! Remember your ties, your ways! You must!” the child like voice shouted, sounding frantic. Namir reached out for the flashing metal object, but couldn’t reach.
“I can’t… I can’t reach! I don’t know!” he said, grabbing his head with both hands. His eyes and neck ached, and it wasn’t helping his confusion.
“THINK!” the voice shouted, creating its own wake, he felt movement, as if the very world he was chained to was shaking up and down. He dropped to his knees, and looked up, extending an arm out to the metal object he saw. It was too far away, he couldn’t make out what it was.
“Namir the Silent Stalker, is no stalker at all. He has his bow
and he has his wits, and still stands tall. He doesn’t know
what life he lived, before his life’s great fall. He lived a show,
A dream of dreams, walked before he crawl. Living low,
Gave up his tides, misery in stall.
Namir the Silent Stalker
Is no stalker at all.
” The child’s voice sang, sadly, mournfully.
Namir was panicked, still reaching out, arm extended desperately. His vision of the object began to fade away into the black, and soon he was all alone again. He was still shaking, up and down, controlled not by him. He felt exhausted and confused, and once more put his hands over his face, shaking his head slowly.
“Who the hell am I? What have I forgotten?” a loud bump resounded into the black.
“What have I done? What life did I live? I DON’T UNDERSTAND!/b]” he screamed silently.
“Namirrr, arre you ok?” another voice rang out into the black. Namir picked his head up frantically.
“Miyana! Where are you?!”
“Rrrright herrre Namirrr, open yourrr eyes now.” Everything shook once more, the same noise resounding everywhere. Namir opened his eyes, and squinted hard from the light. He gave a moment for his eyes to adjust, and saw green everywhere. The air was thick and warm, heavy with dampness. He was dreaming, he realized. He was sitting in front of Miyana, on a large yellowish bipedal bird, built with powerful legs, and two short stubby wings at its side.
“This Chocobo is called Hindrrrance.” Miyana said, nudging Namir slightly.
“I was dreaming again.” Namir said.
“What’s new Namirrr?” Miyana said, laughing. He could feel her smirking at him.“What werrre you drrreaming about misterrr rrranger?”
“Where are we Miyana?” Namir asked abrubtly, ignoring her.
“The Jungle of Yuhtunga Namirrr, we arrre going to see a frrriend of mine, he will help sorrrt things forrr us,” she replied.
“You have friends in Yuhtunga?”
“No.”
“Then…why are we here?”
“Arrrre you always so impatient? So many questions frrrom you all the time! What is this, what is that? Rrrelax Namirrr, questions will be answerrred in time.” Namir bowed his head down.
“I’m sorry. I’ve been feeling very stressed ever since that night Miyana. I don’t know what to do anymore. I feel lost right now, not in control. You saved my life the other night, but I don’t know from what, I don’t kno-”
“I saved you Namirrr, frrrom dieing,” Miyana said flatly, sounding annoyed. “Now is not the time to feel lost Namirrr, now is the time forrr you to keep yourrr head high, and act like a man. You cerrrtainly look like one and… smell like one.” She laughed heartily, continuing to ride.
“Miyana, I hate to ask another question, but I must know, why did you knock me out while inside the Tenshodo before we left? That hurt you know.” Namir waited patiently for an answer.
“I told you Namirrr, Rrrrules. You werrre inside the Tenshodo, ourrrr hideout is a secrrret. I couldn’t let you see the way in now, could I?” Miyana replied, trying her best to sound cute.
“But… I’ve been inside the Tenshodo before Miyana,” he insisted. “Not to change the subject, but this bird is really uncomfortable.” He tried shifting his weight, but struggled, the Chocobo was bouncing far too much. Miyana laughed again, it was a cute laugh, he liked it when Miyana laughed, it made him feel at ease. The Chocobo moved its head about, and gave out a loud, long chirp, sounding irritated.
“Firrrst thing Namirrr, Hinderrrance does not like being called a ‘birrrd’, he is a Chocobo, call him by his name. Second thing, you may have been inside the Tenshodo beforrre, but you have not been inside the Tenshodo. You rrreally think you could get inside? You underrrestimate us if you did Misterrr Rrranger.” She nudged him again in the side, playfully.
“In…side?” he asked.
“Yes, inside Namirrr. No morrre questions!” she said sternly, “Listen, we arrre almost therrre now. We will be rrready to enterrr by nightfall.”
“Enter where Miyana?”
“Again with the questions!” Miyana said loudly.
“Can’t you just tell me this one thing? It’s not like I wont see it when we get there,” Namir challenged.
“Fine,” she said. “Tonight, we enterrr Norrrg.” Namir couldn’t recall ever hearing of the place before, but it seemed vaguely familiar. He went quiet then, examining the jungle as they rode through. Hindrance was moving at walking pace, it’s movements steady. Miyana remained quiet as well, her body pressed close to Namir’s as they rode. He liked having her nearby; he felt connected to her somehow, but was sure it was just physical attraction. Various noises were being made from everywhere, insects, animals, and some other things Namir couldn’t even recognize. The air was still very damp and humid, and Namir enjoyed it. It began to get dark as they rode, going underneath an underpass in the ground. Namir realized they weren’t walking on a trail, and wondered how Miyana was navigating.
“She must have been here many times,” he thought. The Chocobo picked up speed a bit, jogging now.
“It’s getting darrrk, we need to hurrry.” Miyana sounded distant. Namir said nothing, and continued looking out into the jungle.
“The Silent Stalker, is no stalker at all?” he asked himself, “I wonder what that means? Was it really just a dream? It felt like more to me. Almost like someone was calling to me.” He felt his hood flapping against his back with Hindrance’s movements.
“I hope I never have to ride a Chocobo again,” Namir thought, shifting his weight again. In the moments following, it began to rain. Namir raised his hood with one hand, keeping the other firmly attached to the saddle grip. The rain felt good, cool and light. Miyana said nothing, and continued riding. She had her black dressings on, with various patterns stitched in. Her black gi was soaking, and the thin line of flexible black chain mail underneath glistened from the water. Hindrance steps made small muddy splashes as they came down to the earth, spraying water all over their legs. Namir was an average height Hume, with a powerful build and thick black hair. He had his bow and quiver at slung over a leather strap on his back, buckled near his waste. He had on a typical tunic, made of durable materials, with a hood at the top, and a thick leather belt at his waste, which hung a dagger and small scabbard. Miyana wore her Katana in a similar manner to him on her back, slung in crossed dual scabbards on her back, handles upward.
Namir could faintly see a waterfall in the distance now, but couldn’t tell just how far away it was.
“Not much longerrr now Namirrr,” Miyana said. “You’ve been quiet a long time. Daydrrreaming again?”
“Can’t daydream in the evening Miyana,” he replied.
“You arrre a smarrrtass now Namirrr? You arre just full of surrrprises arrrent you?” she shot back.
“I use to think I wasn’t.” he said reproachfully, “I use to think everything was as straight as an arrow. Now I’m not so sure. I’m confused right now, I don’t know what is going on, and I don’t have any answers. I guess being full of surprises is just in my nature right now…” Namir trailed off. Miyana rested her head on Namir’s shoulder, bringing her mouth close to his ears.
“That’s ok Misterrr Rrranger, I like surrrprises,” she whispered. Namir smiled tentatively. Miyana drew back, sitting straight again.
“See that waterrrfall?” she asked, nodding her head slightly forward, “That’s wherrre we arrre going Namirrr.” He stared directly ahead at the falls, and said nothing. It was very dark now, and the rain was falling lightly.
“Whatever this Norg place is, I hope it has some answers for me.” Namir couldn’t help but wonder why the name Norg seemed slightly familiar.
“I must have heard it somewhere before. If Miyana has friends there, chances are it’s a haven for other ninja and thieves, something like the Tenshodo.” He looked up; they were much closer to the falls than they had been before, the noise of the water extending its reach all around.
Hindrance stopped abruptly, sending Namir lurching forward into its neck, clearly annoying the giant bird. Miyana dismounted swiftly, and made no noise doing so as she landed. She motioned for Namir to do the same.
“We walk frrrom herrre,” she said, “It’s not farrr. Hindrrrance cannot go furrrther, he does not like the Sahagin.”
“Sahagin?” Namir asked, sounding puzzled.
“Crrrreaturres of the lagoon. Smarrrt they arrre. They look like fish, but walk uprrright. They tend to rrroam arrround at night,” Miyana replied. Namir nodded, and dismounted from Hindrance clumsily, nearly falling as he slid off the saddle. Miyana laughed, and took the reigns forward, towards Hindrances’ face. The bird nuzzled her, and she patted it on the beak lovingly.
“Go now Hindrrrance,” she said, and kissed its beak. The bird chirped quietly, and ran off into the distance.
“Where is it going?” Namir inquired.
“Wherrre else? Back to Kazham,” she said flatly.
“Oh.” Namir looked at Miyana a moment, they were both soaked with the rain. “Miyana, lets go before it gets darker.”
“You beat me to it Misterrr Rrranger, you arre full of surrrprises,” she replied playfully.
“I guess I am,” he said, following Miyana as she walked forward.
“I guess I am,” he thought, “How many more surprises am I full of? Maybe I’m just full of it in general.” He stared at the waterfall as they neared it a moment, arching his neck, following it all the way up to where it crested. “I need answers. To everything. I need to know what the hell it was I saw back there, I need to know what secrets of my past I have forgotten, I need to know…I need to know what the hell I’m supposed to do about it all.”
His thoughts trailed as they climbed down towards the falls. The rain continued to fall lightly, and so did his spirits.

You have sturred my interest and creativity Mistra. I look forward to reading more from you, as I'm going to get back into writing myself, and need a good bit of writing to keep my interest going.
