Anyone been in a party with him?

He fails on a couple reasons.

-His provoke macro.
````He's a 60+ player using retarded macros````
"I'll protect you Kallifa until the very end!" is not a provoke macro.
I told him numerous times to change it and also /echo when provoke was up. I know for a fact that macro will not fly at all for end game. I know that much at least, especially for Dynamis. To keep the chat log clutter to a minimum for only important things.
-He can't keep hate.
````I used souleater and then Guillotine and kept hate for the rest of the battle. I used it as my first attack, and I know for a fact, hate can be taken back. (Even the SAM is taking hate as I type this)

This is here because the way I see it, it's more of a "critiquing" then flame. If this is, by all means switch it.

Gotta love those Campaign NPC's. Sucks when your a WHM and your the only PC in the battle. You can't cast anything on the mobs. I wonder if SE can implement a hate system for those NPC's so you don't get beat on for casting Dia even though said NPC just Raging Rushed for 2000+ Damage.

You may know lots of things, but it's just asinine to start off a fight with something like that and then blame the tank for not having hate.

I took souleater off after I used it and stopped attacking. I did 600ish damage and kept hate the entire time.

You open the fight with Souleater Guillotine, you gonna keep hate. Not much a tank can do unless they have every single ability open and spam them.

o.O ~ I just did it again. The SMN/WHM took hate.

Yeah, that's pretty bad. Usually DDs wait to pull out the big guns during the last 1/2 of the mobs HP. That way you can use the entire first half of the fight to gain back the TP.

Still sounds like a shitty tank.

...Wha?

Also, OP's posting here instead of focusing on the pt? Sure hope nothing bad happens.

This. That's a ridiculous reason to blame your tank for not being able to pull a mob off of you.

Hey guys, I used Souleater+Guillotine, afk a few while I write this thread about our tank.

Ew, I remember partying with those two, He never held hate long enough for me to get SATA off, and his "wife" or whatever would afk every fight, after 10 battles they both d/c'd at the same time.

I had a DRK who kept doing this in a party I had taking up my RDM. In fact, not a DRK, but a handful of DRKs going from 60-70.
Usually if all that damage and MP siphoning doesn't give them a hint, I stop giving them haste and leave them in yellow (unless we were in some place where undead spawn).
Because, high-hate DRK = low HP DRK = Healer curespam on DRK = High Hate on Healer = Dead Healer ._.
Case in point:

Had down time cause WHM died....

I know. Was also funny when I took hate off a WHM after she benedictioned. XD

-Though curious, does no one else have a problem with that macro?

I got confused, thought he was talking about that PLD NPC with a somewhat similar name. Didn't think any melee level 40+ was silly enough to WS at the beginning of an XP fight. Der...

Anyone who has any dialogue in their provoke macro and isn't doing endgame is an idiot.

Until you've seen an SS of Odon's boost macro, you haven't seen anything.

Also, starting a fight with souleater+WS is extremely noobish. Then complaining that your tank couldn't get hate just makes you seem silly.

I'm a firm believer in exp macros that don't have chatlines for actions you're supposed to be doing.
Hence why I took them all out of my Bard macros around 30. Now only my Troubadour/Nightingale macro and 2hr have chatlines.

Thanks for the heads up. (Seriously)

So save any WS after 50%?

Depends on the set up, but yeah i'd wait till atleast 50% to bust a ws let alone a SEWS. Unless of course youre opening a skill chain for sata SC or some shit then bomb away.

That is where it takes personal observation and set up to determine. Once you get to merit level you should only Souleater WS if a mob is taking a bit long to kill, or if you want to give an "OSHI---" moment to one of your whm friends (this is one i was guilty of a lot).

Its different for everyone, because of gear and knowing about your party mates.
