I have been taking some notice on some potential impacts the expansion may have on the game as a whole. With the ever increasing number of people in the new areas and the decrease of people focussed in Jeuno, I was beginning to think that SE may have just given us too much world to keep the economy working with low population servers. What I mean by this is that we now have five different Auction Houses, and yet right now we only have about 2000 active people at any given time online.

I forsee issues of where to list the item you want to sell, Al Zhabi or Jeuno. Since so many people will be doing things such as assault or whatever in the new areas, we will need more crafters to start selling in that AH, making fewer resources available in Jeuno for people who wish to remain in the "old world".

I'm not seeing the influx of people that they banked on 360 bringing in. Right now I potentially see a server migration available or server mergers due to the decline in populations in relation to how many areas you need to populate to keep a flowing economy.

So here's my question, who will use the new AH as they do with the starter town AHs and just sell/buy the essentials for the level range? Basically I want to know if it looks like Al Zahbi will become the new Jeuno or its equal, or will we be forced to travel back and forth to supply up before doing something?

My theories could be way off but what's your all's view on the issue at hand? I know I'd be all for a server merger in the future (maybe split a small server between two mediums) to balance the population. Sure there is crowding issues in endgame but with the new areas being geared toward high end levels, we should have enough room to spread out now.

>.> so is this why my shit isnt selling in jeuno? O.o

Jeuno and ToAU Auction Houses are linked.

They are? Hmmm, is the tax the same, if not, most people are movin to Al Zahbi lol. My post got nerfed if that's true.

Yay! Lower Jeuno spam in the new areas, Awsome!!

Yeah they are...just put somethng up on Jeuno AH and then try to take it off in ToAU, you will find you can ^^

Is anything Blazn says true?

Can someone confirm this? That means everyone is just going to AH their items in Aht Urghan with higher prices (at least that's what I'd do).

That already exists, it's from all the idiots who want their hand held for everything and can't be bothered to explore the new areas. I had to filter shouts for the first time ever because people wouldn't stop whining about not being handed everything as soon as they landed in Aht Urhgan.

heh. not to be the one who ever agrees with Blazn, but i believe if you are married you dont pay bazaar tax in jeuno...

I personally think that once people have done the missions, gotten sick of assault, and unlocked the new jobs that the new areas (unless a new meriting location is found) will become just like Tavnazian Safehold. Scarce, but still have its share of Adventurers. I don't think this area will "Become the new jeuno" because of its location. Jeuno is a meeting point of all the cities (and Kazham) and also where the majority of people Lfg from lvl 20 on because of its proximity to the nearest camps.

Let's also not forget the what seems to be hours long boat ride between Mhaura and Whitegate.

There are a few things that hurt your reasoning badly.

One, you can set your home point in Al Zahbi, and there's a Teleport NPC that will warp you straight to Jeuno. or at least, within walking distance...

Two, Besieged. For Besieged to work out properly people have to be active in Al Zahbi, and the rewards so far are looking pretty good.

Three, Mog Lockers. Imperial Currency is required to keep Mog Lockers available. Imperial Currency requires Imperial Standing points, which are acquired by doing Assault, TAU missions, and Besieged, as well as (if I'm not mistaken) earning EXP in the Besiege map regions.

Four, Tavnazian Safehold connected to Sea (access requires a lot of dedication and hard work), Cape Riverne (only good for once-a-week ENMs and CoP missions), and Phomiuna Aqueducts (Subligars... once you have one, you don't need another for a long time...). Other than that, Misareaux and Lufaise are relatively quick to reach from Jeuno, and the Tavnazian outpost is Beastman-controlled a lot because Lufaise EXP mobs are so damn volatile. Lots of factors that make the Safehold a sub-optimal choice for a "home". On top of everything else, you can't even access the Safehold AH until you beat Diabolos, which the Avatar form of him made a lot of people do... but most people still have not.

Isn't there a cost to the teleporter?

Once everyone has what they want, I don't think people are gunna care about the Astral Candecense.

However true, I personally just used my mog locker to dump all the rare/ex crap and older no longer used job items into to it. I'm personally using it as a 2nd form of storage without the need of furniture filling up my mogsafe. What I'll do is just keep my imperial currency in my mogsafe for safe keeping once I've taken assault items for all their worth, and reactivate the safe only when I need something from it.

I agree with this, but the population even with CoP venturers is still low at any given time regardless of characters having the AH unlocked or not. I rarely see people exping here. You just need to ask around and see the last time anyone has actually gone to this area without it being related to a mission or enm, and then the last time anyones been to jeuno to see the direct difference between these places.

And yet, Sky is STILL dramatically overpopulated.

You can only activate the locker in Al Zahbi, meaning you'll have to take "the what seems to be hours long boat ride" if you want to access it, not to mention waiting for the boat in the first place. Also, you'll have to do things in the Besiege areas to get ISP to buy the coins.

People rarely exp in the Safehold region because so many people still don't have their fucking promyvions done. Even at HL I often end up attempting at least one invite per party that can't go to the Archipelago. Not only that, but Lufaise Meadows only comfortably supports two limit parties really. Three if one or more of the parties is lacking. Not only that but only Piercing DDs are effective there, so setups are more limited than other zones.

>.<; It is possible that they dont have a PC like many of us do =P Hell i dont even know where the teleporter is.
