The Flamboard is a stupid idea and should be deleted.

I'd say it's someone who have recently gotten flamed, either one time or several times, and is pissed off, and thus decides to flame the flameboard itself.

Inteligence ftw. Don't make me throw in a pick of a bunny with a pancake on its head.

The flameboard serves many very useful functions. It allows people to make a case of why a player is bad at their job. It allows players to air grivences. And it also allows other to vent if they had a bad playing experiance.

Now, if this isn't you cup of tea, then don't read it. If someone posts about you, make a thoughtout retort, and spellcheck it. If your argue your point, and people still are flaming you, then maybe its time to consider the validity of the flames.

The flame board has been a productive place at times. Grievances between people or groups of people are brought to light, the public is informed of them which can be a good thing, and than those people deal with problem. Of course that is the best case, and doesn't always happen. But i think there are many reasons the flame board is useful.

The way you handle yourself on a board like this says a lot about you, or the group you represent. This is especially true when you/your group are the target of a flame. This place informs people of the character of the players who respond, and can allow them to decide without experiencing the person first hand, whether they want to participate in anything with them or not.

Sure, this game is about working together, and the spreading falsehoods here can be counter productive towards that. But, it is a public forum, and if you respond to the accusation with good grammar and good points/defense, the issue blows over pretty fast, and the person who started the flame looks pretty bad... so even those flames can still be educational, it lets you know who starts rumors in our community.

These 'hateful' feelings towards other players would exist regardless of this board, and they would be much more difficult to address without the board. Word spreads around fast when someone is being accused of something, and without someplace that is easy for everyone to access, the person in question may never find out... and will certainly have a harder time defending themselves. And lastly, when the person being flamed really is a tool, I personally think it is good that as many people as possible find out (read: Roofie, Colbwa etc).

Like some others have said, it is pretty easy to ignore posts here. Even when there is a flame about you, you could easily read the first post, and than engage the person in game or via PMs about it rather than feeding the fire. If no one is fighting on the post, it goes away.

Well. Cubs isn't a pad person. He just tends to be brutally honest in most cases. He doesn't sugar coat much. Realism can be harsh.

On the subject of people getting flamed and wanting the flameboard destroyed since they can't defend themselves. Braydon mentioned properly defending ones self....but...maybe they're guilty?

And, of course people who are jack asses in game don't want you to know it. Then you wouldn't help them when they needed it, and they MIGHT have to uphold morals. :lol: :lol: :lol: On the internet too!
