Forgive my ignorance, but I have never heard of it and I have no idea what it is.

the hajj mean is the Pilgrimage to Mecca . It is the fifth of the Five Pillars in Sunni Islam and one of the ten Branches of religion in Shi'a Islam. Every able-bodied Muslim who can afford to do so is obliged to make the pilgrimage to Mecca at least once in his or her lifetime.

there is 2 type of Pilgrimage to mecca

the Umrah "lesser pilgrimage"

the Hajj "major"pilgrimage

it takes place during the Islamic month of "Dhu al-Hijjah". you can say its happn in the last of decembers , so its once a year

Kinda of an unusual topic..anywhoo

Don't the muslims like climb on something on the hajj? I heard that a long time ago where they all gather at Mecca and do some type of climbing..or some event where some die or something..I dunno.

no there is no climbing in the hajj the death happn in "Muzdalifah" where ppl gathered for the al-jamarat "stoning of the Devil "

snice Muzdalifah is a small area and a sudden crowd movements on or near the Jamarat Bridge can cause people to be crushed. On several occasions hundreds of participants have suffocated or been trampled to death in stampedes. most of the case are these two factors are felt to be most responsible for the most recent tragedy during the Hajj of 2005, despite several attempts by the authorities to inform pilgrims about the permissibility of staggering their visits to the jamarat as well as instructing them to leave their luggage at their tents. Adding to the confusion involved in the tragedy is the lack of co-operation on the part of pilgrims who do not leave the jamarat area by the proper route, and therefore interfere with the movement of others who are arriving.

I saw the photos on the news wire this morning and all I could think is "I'm glad I'm not in charge of sanitation facilities." You'd need a lot of Port-o-Sans for that crowd.

OP changed, no need for this.

Actually the countries..well like maybe Iraq or Afganistan (my dad went over to the middle east twice, in Afganistan and Iraq) they have poop burners, who..burn your poop when your done.

The water there is pretty bad, if you use ice to chill something, you can't drink it cause it does have bacteria like e. coli in it.
