The start of the always fiendishly fun annual Harvest Festival has been set for Thursday, October 18, 2007 at 1:00.

This year's festival has all the makings of a truly memorable event; everyone's favorite bomb decorations will adorn the streets of the three nations, specialty shops will deal in seasonal sundries, and both classic and all-new costumes will debut!
The townspeople from San d'Oria, Bastok, and Windurst are decked out in their most horrifying ensembles and awaiting your arrival!

So go ahead and start stocking up on all those goodies that the monsters of Vana'diel can't resist!

For information on how to get involved in the Harvest Festival and more, be sure to check out the Topics posted on the day the event begins.

I love the halloween event, can easily make a huge profit while sitting there afk overnight ^^

I was kinda on break last year when they gave out the witch hats.....do you just need like chocolate or something to get them? I was pretty crushed when I got back and everyone had rad hats and I didn't!

If I remember right, you start the event from the Witch Hunt NPCs, get any costume by trading a sweets(any sweets work, ginger cookies etc.) to various NPCs, then follow some witch ghost NPC around, making sure to stay behind them so they don't see you.

During various points they'll stop and spin in a circle, if you are seen you lose the costume and need to recostume up, although I think you can start over on the story where you left off.

The goal is to listen to the entire story the ghost NPCs talk about while following them, then back to the event starter NPC for your prize, can't zone at all while doing this event though. As for HQ wait a Vana'diel day, wear the witch hat and talk to event starter NPC and repeat for coven hat. With either equipped you can buy the lantern furnishings from Moogle NPCs for 10,000gil.

Not sure if they're gonna have the same event though this year for it, or offer it as something else.

I'm hoping for something new. Although I still haven't gotten all the pumpkin heads. I keep missing out on the enmity- one =/

I managed to pretty much get all items from the Halloween events from the last two years of playing and doing these events. I didn't care much for the witch one though, I enjoyed the one before that more even.

:O

They have lantern furnishings?!

Omgaaaaaah!

Anyone have screenies?

I think the lanterns have been around for a couple years. One looks like a pumpkin, one looks like a Snoll, and I forget what the other looks like.

I'm truly partial to the Snoll one.

O.o I didn't know you could put them in your house!

I thought they were just decoration for the cities.

I think they're the same thing then. I could be wrong since I never bought them (30k each wtf), but I swear I saw STG:1 on each of them way back.

Either way, I might pick up a Bomb Lantern this year, if I login at all.

Such a time sink...yet I keep participating ; ;

Indeed, I'm an event whore if there's gear or furnishing obtainable from it, been disappointed past few times though. First was the haiku crap for Celestial Nights you have to use linkshell beta community crap for, Quetzalcoatl didn't get enough thus I couldn't get those 3 bamboo furnishings, /cry..

Other one was the Test Thy Mettle during the Sunbreeze Festival, I was hoping for new r/ex items with that dungeon crawling event, but alas, just food.

So yeah, I'm somewhat skeptical about the Halloween Event, hoping it has some new gear or furnishings, as I already have everything from the past 3 years ones.

Bomb Lantern, Pumpkin Lantern, and a Mandragora Lantern. Oh and a Sock.
Ok maybe not the sock.

Sock was from the Starlight Celebration 2006, as well as the dream platter and dream coffer.
Plus the armor if you didn't obtain from previous years.

Both exceptionally disappointing events.

Isn't the sock from the Winter Festivals?

Twas a joke, a joke! I haven't got any Festival items cause im a nooblet :D

ahh! Touché, my fellow Tarutaru! The Christmas/Winter Event and the Easter/Spring Event items are my favorite furnishings by far, but I intend this year to possibly stock up my last mule with Halloween items :D

Man...I didn't even know they had furniture outside the egg stuff/bamboo things...I'm a sad taru now ;_;

If only the gear magically granted + storage space.
