Cause your neighborhood has rainbow flags everywhere!

Edit: Most stores have or get often 20g models.

On the iphone thing. They did drop the ball not including some "must have" features for the PDA phone crowd, but I anticipate they are already integrating that technology, and seeing how many sidekick fans they can get.
Hey, we like color, what can I say.

I just can't wait for the inevitable smaller version iPhone. Then the iPhone Shuffle, complete with random playlist and dialer! After that, the iPhone Nano, which comes with its own special stylus-like tool to push the very tiny buttons.

Would you like it better if they cut it in half, then used a string to hold it together. Or maybe motion sensor so you have to spell out play with your body like you're spelling YMCA. That would be real innovation.

In my experiences, mp3 player + phone isnt all its cracked up to be. 6 Hour batter life is pretty shitty, this seems more of a PDA reject that the little kids will beg mom and dad to buy them. Not quite sure what they are talking about with the "revolutionary" internet on this phone...they are about two years late on that...Don't see this taking a bite out of the blackberry market at all since they are really completely different, and the expensive mp3 player phones do not sell nearly as well as you think. (Cingular sales man all summer long in two stores). Sales would also depend on which network(s) the phone ends up on and how much it costs. Apple does have a semi-cult following, so those poor souls that are Apple freaks prolly will go out of their way to buy this.

You missed the point. It was a jab at Apple always repackaging the same product under a different approach.

Like how snickers has regular size, king size and bite size?

Or like GM made the Camaro and the Firebird? The Tahoe and the Yukon?

Like how TV companies make different size TVs 19in, 20in, 25, 27in, 32in, 40in etc?

Like how Shirt companies make the same shirt in black and white and blue and red?

Or like how Nintendo keeps spaming game shelves with mario games?

And a newer and smaller one every week that'll have even more functions.

It's nice, but honestly I feel it's too much for a phone. Maybe if they took out the MP3 and video capability (or at least lowered the memory a lot) then I'd probably go for it. Not to mention, it'll probably cost a ton.

Apple owns PCs, now they will own cell phones, the revolution has begun!!!

Too bad they didn't own the name iPhone!!!

lololol that hippy shmuck. I bet the name will cost them alot more than it would have now that they announced it after breaking negotiations with Cisco over it.

I think the iPhone is pretty awesome and I'm very Hyped about it, Plus I have cingular FTW. Anywayz I have a rzr and iPod Video and I hate carrying them both around, Plus the Web Browser looks very appealing(Don't want to get a PSP) I just keep thinking of How I can use this everyday for alot of stuff. I'm planning on getting one on launch day, I got till June to save up for it.

2 megapixel camera + No 3G by the 3rd Quarter of 2007/1st Quarter in 2008? That's a bit outdated ... otherwise I think the whole thing looks a bit cool and stylish. I might consider one.

Apple could sell turd only if it was called iShit ...

Or how none of that matters, because this is a thread about iPhone and Apple?

Just thought it was funny you making fun of a company for doing the same things your favorite company nintendo does. Inovation and marketing should only be used by your fave I guess.

i'd buy one, if it wasn't (predicted) $600!

most i would pay for a phone/pda/mp3 would be $400.

I doubt it'll bomb, but I can't see it raking in the same kind of numbers as a regular iPod. The iPhone (or whatever it'll eventually be called) isn't going to draw in people who don't want to switch their cell phone plans or people like me who refuse to buy a cell phone in the first place. I have a feeling it'll be doing too many things to be able to do any of them well.

Give me a widescreen video iPod and I'll gladly fork over more cash, but this gadget holds little appeal for me. I dont need a "convergence" device. I'm content to have multiple bits of specialized gear hanging off my belt so I can pretend I'm Batman. I'm coming for you next, Joker!

Also, there really wasn't that much of a market for MP3 players when iPod came out. They essentially created the market. Cell phones is completely different, as its an all read well established, huge money maker for many companies already. And if this shit is $600...lol.

I work with a person who is a "Mac Zealot". I am amazed that they tout to be so amazing and buy into the false marketing that Apple puts out, yet are willing to do without so many things that a PC user uses on a daily basis.

As Ladykiki said, Apple fanboys (and girls) will buy whatever Apple puts out since all they really want to do is accessorise their "Apple Image". So will it flop on a micro scale? Absolutlely not. But on a MAC-ro (sorry for the pun) it will fail like almost (yes, I said almost, iPod is a great product) everything else Apply does.

Yeah, it's supposedly $600 on top of the cost of the cell phone plan that I think will detract significantly from sales. Every other phone's cost is subsidized by your carrier when you sign the contract($300 razr for $50), but you have to pay full price for the iphone as well as sign the 2-year contract.

Then you shall have one ... cause when the phone companies put a special on it to get u to sign a contract that will lower the price the usual 200ish dollars to the price which u said you were willing to pay.

On a related note i work for a cell phone company (to be specific cingular warranty dept) and i can tell you this thing is not going to bomb imo. People are very... competitive about the kinds of phones they have and this will be the next big cock phone. As someone else stated apple could sell ishit. Same reason that the zune is not doing well the i-whatever name has gotten such a ravenous fanbase that zune cant be sold and iphone will work... sadly.

However if they loose the name iphone i doubt it will do near as well in fact i predict an out of court settlement where apple buys the rights to the name for an undisclosed price

Personally, I don't like all-in-one things like this. I use my mp3 player (was creative zen micro, now Zune) almost all day at work, and by the time I get home, the battery is half gone, and I have to charge it for tomorrow.

I like not having to charge my cell phone every day without worrying that it will die tomorrow. If your iphone battery dies, you lose everything until you can get it charged, and that sucks. Maybe its just me, but those all-in-one things seem more hassle than just using both pockets that already come with the pants im wearing.

But if you're someone who doesn't really use an mp3 player that often, and don't really use your phone either, then I guess its ok to buy something like this, but not one thats going to cost you over a grand your first year of owning it (iphone + Cingular + cancelling your current plan = $$$$$$).

I think this first gen iphone will sell fast at the start because of the name, but it wont be until we see a iphone nano a year from now that the numbers are going to explode because too many people like spending money.
