I recently bought it it's been out a while and although I'm not that far into the game it's still pretty cool.

It has alot of bugs which makes me think it could have been better off on PS3maybe (hate me all you want). Loading textures when you first zone into an area can take some time, battle also lags sometime maybe for several reasons(?). I think because of the amount of detail on screen and the amount of people on screen at once make it lag. Details (when they do load) are awesome though and so are cutscenes it's pretty detailed once everything loads correctly lol.

Battles are also pretty hard early on in the game as Rush is put on his own instead of with a unit and therefore dies easily. later in the game you can recruit soldiers of an army and add them to his unit to increase the unit HP and stuff so he has more survivability.

Story wise I haven't gotten that far but it's about Remnants(weapons) that are binded to people, you play as rush sykes the child of top two researchers of remnants, your sister is kidnapped early on in the game and is said to have a special power. So the goal (right now anyway?) is to save your sister with the help of the Marquis of Athlum and his army.

Character design is cool...they're different that's for sure lol, and you can optimize Rush in most weapons, a dual weilder or a two hander etc etc. You can also save anywhere which is good since I seem to die alot in this game lol.

Did anyone else pick this up?

Personally I feel as though delaying the PS3 version was the best idea they could've done for this. I wouldn't be surprised if MS pressured them into releasing it because they wanted to be "FIRST!" and therefore have some feeling of superiority, therefore shooting themselves in the foot seeing as it had those problems.

That's why I am waiting for the PS3 version, it's having extra time to have all the bugs worked out, and hey, they might add some extra stuff in for PS3 users sorta like with Eternal Sonata.

thanks Gerry, I couldn't seem to find it D= stupid work computer.

Mods can lock this thread ^^;

Or, it could just be a shitty game like most of what Square Enix releases that isn't a remake.

Is it really so hard to believe that they are actually at least TRYING to make something new? Besides some reviewers absolutely loved this game's plot and characters, but it got the marks down because of the flaws that this is Square Enix's first actual attempt at using the U3 Engine.

I'm still going to be optimistic about the new IPs because like I said, at least they are trying. They can only get so far with re-releasing and remaking older games and continuing other franchises (Dragon Quest however is the exception, they can make those forever because those games are win.)

Edit to mods: Just merge this thread with the already existing Last Remnant Thread, it'd be easier, maybe.

It's just the flavor Squaresoft brought with them. You don't let a failing company keep doing what it was doing to be failing when you absorb them. Why the Enix half of leadership lets it continue is beyond me. Oh right, because there is no Enix leadership. They handed the reins over to Squaresofts heads after the devouring of their company. Big footbullet right there. And I thought the Japanese were supposed to be great businessmen.

Honestly, instead of spreading out in to new territory with stagnant talent thats basically fit to only design games in one genre, why not use some of the successful IPs that already exist, but for some reason are abandoned. Brave Fencer Musashi, Rad Racer, Parasite Eve, Vagrant Story..

Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger...

Speaking of old kick ass games they should revamp:

Anyone play E.V.O. Search for Eden on SNES? It was an old Enix game.

I loved the crap out of that game. It was sort of repetitive and boring after a few hours, but the idea behind it was fun as hell. I wished they pick that up too.

-on topic- I have Last Remnant. It has fallen to the wayside as more interesting games came out, like most of my SE purchases. I want to defend it, but I just can't. I play it every now and again thinking just around the corner shit is gonna take off and be awesome (story wise) and that just keeps on making me wait. Meanwhile, when I say wait I mean wait. The texturing and frame rate is ridiculous. Honestly the sentence that comes out of my mouth almost every time I play it or talk about it is - Damn, this would be so awesome if it just looked and loaded right. Cause when it does load and look right (1-10 min) later it looks awesome.

On the whole, I agree with Skaw. Actually, the rapid decline of SE is traced back to the merger and change of leadership. I think if the old cast of Square was at the reins they might be doing good things, but instead they gave it to some chode who launches one rampant failure after another and keeps the company afloat by re-releasing FF1-6 and Chrono Trigger - what? 3 times in one decade? GG! Oddly enough, I once trumpeted Tetsuya Nomura as a genius but pretty much with everything that's come out of FF7 and KH I have decided he's just an arrogant punk bitch like every "celebrity" dev at SE.

They should sell the Xenogears to Namco instead of sitting on it, cause I'd like that to come out at least once a decade if we're banking on our company's past successes here.

PS: I know there's another LR thread, but I was mostly talking to Skaw and mostly off topic anyway.

Brave Fencer Musashi, Rad Racer, Parasite Eve, Vagrant Story
Perfect examples. I miss those games so much because they were damn enjoyable.

Well after playing this game for a bit, I give up and I'm going to trade this and Fallout 3 in for Fable 2 lol.

Yeah. For fucking Cell Phones. So who gives a flying shit except the Japanese?

Actually The 3rd Birthday and FFXIII Agito cell phone versions were canned and both are being developed for the PSP.
