Well this is totally under the radar.

Nintendo’s announced The Last Story for Wii, which is being developed by Blue Dragon developer Mistwalker.

Nothing has been revealed on it other then its website and logo.

So what you can expect in it would be a better guess then anything we’re throwing up. Other then it’s an RPG, obviously.

Find the website here.

Mistwalker boss Hironobu Sakaguchi said he was working on a AAA RPG alongside development on an iPhone game.

It wasn’t specified what it was, or what consoles it was coming to.

Thanks, Hero of Canton

Awesome.

Interesting, I figured they were working on LO2 for 360 or something (hell, they still may be), but this looks like it may be good, not surprise to see it's on Wii seeing it's popularity in Japan.

Also, The Last (Final) Story (Fantasy), similar looking logo and sounding music.
Wouldn't surprise me if Uematsu was doing this OST as well.
Anyways, I'll keep my eyes out for info on this game.

The fact it's made my Sakaguchi makes me want it so bad. I need to really compose a list of Wii games I'd absolutely love to have and play continuously before I justify buying one :P

Sounds like the Knights will be revealed to be the actual bad guys at some point during the story.

Wow looks really interesting. Any idea on a release date?

ill get this alone with xenoblade .. if they both got US release that is .....

f*** you namco !

Nintendo has explained its decision to only release promising Wii Japanese role-playing game The Last Story in Japan.

"With all the conversions, when we do it in Europe we've got to do the whole of Europe," Nintendo UK boss David Yarnton told Eurogamer. "So it's multiple languages. It has to be viable.

"We've got so much on our plate at the moment. The most important one is in the first quarter this year. Kirby's Epic Yarn is the most important title. We've got some great product coming out.

"On top of that, when we add in 3DS, it's just so much."

Nintendo disappointed many European and North American Wii owners when it revealed it's decision to keep The Last Story Japan exclusive.

The Mistwalker-developed title has attracted a great deal of attention from Western gamers through the release of eye-catching trailers and translated information from Japan.

While Nintendo repeated it's "no plans to release The Last Story in Europe and the US" stance to Eurogamer, it did offer a glimmer of hope.

"We've released quite a lot of RPGs on the Wii in the UK," Yarnton said. "It's an area that's been growing for us. It's up to the market. We never write anything off."

I really doubt this will be Sakaguchi's last game :P he's too awesome to not make more :) and I really hope it comes out to the rest of the world :(

If this game at very least had an English Subtitle option instead of a full voice cast, I would live with that. The Japanese voice actors sound quite good, as viewed on the website.

Can't push a title to the masses on subtitles alone.
Yakuza 3 should've shown that.

That had more to do with Yakuza 3 being a Yakuza title, not a lack of them saving money by not creating a shit dub.

As for the game at hand; Mistwalker has yet to make anything even hittin' the decent mark for me. However, this game actually looks pretty cool. It's up to them though if they want my money, I'll play it either way but I wont buy it unless it is published over here too.
