ok, I don't post flames. I respond to them, i post all over the place but i'm not one to really make a big deal over something. However today there was an incident I couldn't ignore. Long story, bear with me.
So I log in this morning, a fresh lvl 34 mnk, outside of that big green worm infested hole, Cawlers nest. I put up my flag and turn on the radio and after about half an hour, boom invite. After a lengthy formation we get going. Great setup, great leader, exp flows like wine. Members seem to come and go every half hour or so but they always give warning and a replace is always found. The transistions are pretty flawless with the person leaving as the next is standing beside the party.
Heaven right? Right! Before I knew it I was sitting pretty at 36. But the leader has to go, and gets a replace for herself, and guess who ends up with leader. Yeah. Me.
Now I like to exp and this party as crazy as it was, was going to take me farther if i had anything to say about it. So enter the problem party member. Yamaha. War/Nin.
Now, this isn't a flame against his/her playing which was perfectly fine. He/she was a great member for about 45mins and i was really proud to have been in a party for soooo long without any mishaps, NOT ONE DEATH, etc, then we get the first hiccup in that long chain of crawlers. The whm has to go. He gets a replace but he has to log before the replace gets there. No prob right? Wrong. Anyways, I'm chatting with the new whm, I ask him to pick me up a new stack of kabobs since i ate all mine, hes like sure. He zones into Rolanberry, and some time passes.
Now suddenly he's not answering tells, my party members are getting antsy since it's been about ten minutes. I start looking for a new whm. Here's where the problem begins. There isn't another whm seeking, i'm trying to reestablish contact with the one who was otw, and some party members are pretty sure the whm must be joining another pt thats why he isnt answering us. I told em he got me a stack of kabobs that would be kinda dumb of him but theres still grumbling. Yamaha decides he'll give the whm 1 more minute. Yeah, cuz thats his decision to make. Never mind the fact that theres a yellow dot next to MY name.
So that minute (more like ten secs) passes, and Yamaha says "Fine I'm seeking" and disbands. Yay for him. whoohoo. The remaining 3 with me are worried and i'm just about to disband entirely when bam the whm sends a tell, apparently he got a knock at the door and had to answer it. Hey it happens, i invite him and all is forgiven. Now Yamaha had directly said he wasn't going to tank nest beetles (the party was mostly 37-38 by now) and I agreed because that would be hard on a war/nin with no backup tank. However with my newly free'd slot I invited a ninja instead of reinviting mr cant wait ten minutes.
Now I suppose this is as much a flame as a question, was I in the wrong for replacing him? He left the party. As the leader it's my responsibility to take care of the party. With the empty slot I could have invited him back and had a sup-par party or invited a ninja and keep hauling. Should I have kept any loyalty to someone who ditched party to seek?
Whm arrives and Yamaha notices. He sends me a tell saying "oh i see the whm is here invite me." I said "No, I invited a ninja so we could do nest beetles." He says "Oh maybe I'll go get my 75 nin and skillup on some nest beetles." I said "Its my job to do whats best for the party." He said "Its ok I'll just get my 75 nin and skillup on nest beetles brt." (He kept harping on the 75 nin thing.) I said "Your 75 nin doesn't impress me." He said "Your mnk doesn't impress me either." (um its a 36 mnk who was i trying to impress anyways?) Then the kicker: "About 80 lvl 75's have blisted you." I was like
? There were a few more lines which i cant remember atm, basically him bullying me and me not caring. Then i said "Tell me what linkshell you are in so I can laugh." Because I know a lot of the high lvl NA community on this server, (not that i felt the need to tell him that.) and would have honestly been amused to know who was 'blisting me'.
He didnt answer and I didn't say anymore. (Except a mt to one of his buddies about the stupid mnk wearing rse, the only piece of rse i had on was the chest which has 1 str on it, because thats as good as it gets pre-jujitsu gi for mnk body pieces. I have all the +1 federation and bastokan acc+att+ gear otherwise dipshit.) After my party found out there were various MPK jokes because lo and behold half the people rotating in and out of my party that night were part of the big Beastmaster linkshell leveling up their subjobs. I thought that was funny, and they were great guys.
Happy ending to the story, I dinged 38 and the poor party finally huffed its last puff and collapsed of exhausion. I had been in party since ten am, it was now 8 pm and I was really happy it was over while wishing it wouldnt end. Maybe i was just tired but that rude stupidity in the middle just irked me to the point of posting.
Oh, one last jab. What the fuck was mr 75 nin doing leveling his 36 warrior in CN? OH BURN. He never showed up to kill beetles either, just sat in jeuno seeking on his lowbie job. I don't lie, I don't embellish, and I don't make this shit up. I leave it to QCDN to judge who was at fault here.

FFXI is a frustrating game so it's understandable
