I think there is a way for us to have a very positive and dramatic impact on how our server starts off in retail. I touched on this briefly in another thread, but I want to see if we can get an organized list of people interested.

Basically, you have a dedicated crafter and a dedicated looter or gatherer. These two team up and support each other, which helps support the community and server as a whole.

If there is a Culinarian, a fighting or gathering job who will come across a variety of meat and such should team with him to supply him with those ingredients. Or a Fisherman to keep the fish flowing. Or both! In return, that Culinarian offers a reasonable payment or a supply of cooked food.

Everyone else outside of this forum is going to do their own thing and trample each other to get what they want. If we focus on helping each other, it will put us all ahead in the long run.

Basically, if we have "crafting teams", we stand a better chance of succeeding than we would trying to beat each other down.

Anyone interested in attempting this system with me, please post. ^^

Listing your crafts will make this a lot easier to accomplish, so head on over to the user specialty thread and post what you intend to be :D

Should make it easier to find somebody in a craft you want to partner with.

Aye, I just didn't want to jack that thread. Was simply looking for a list of people that actually WANT to try this so they can team up.

I think it's a good idea. For the economy to succeed as a whole there's going to need to be a lot of cooperation.

Alereth, I'd recommend making an LS in the game just for this purpose. Since you can have multiple active simultaneously it's possible to have one for crafting requests and mats, another for your normal stuff, etc.

I like this idea a lot. i was thinking of starting out as a crafter to help my friends and maybe make some money when the regular launch happens. I'd be interested in Armorer

No. We want them to implement an auction. The bazaar idea is just, well, bazaar. It's fine to have a bazaar system, but as the sole drive behind the economy things will just suck.

While I agree that an AH would be beneficial, we have to be prepared to be without it for the time being.

I will make the Linkshell "The Lindblum Combine" which will be our global crafters and gatherers central core. Cooperation will play a vital role, so I encourage all to participate.

Miros, there is actually a big part Eosun can play. I'll message you about it.

EDIT: Name suggestions for the shell are very welcome. Just post your ideas and any other beneficial things you think could help the system.

This is what I came up with:

This plan basically takes the best part of QCDN/EOSUN and turns it into a means of supporting ourselves. The best part being a tight knit community. Everyone would pick their craft job or gathering job. They would team up into pairs or small groups, and basically provide for each other.

The gatherers provide the materials, the craftsman provide a product in whatever field they are. (Armor, Food, Weapons, Glue, etc.). First and formost, the craftsman supply directly to the gatherers. The surplus is sold.

This takes cooperation from EVERYONE involved. The gatherers have to be willing to give up the materials to the crafters, and the crafters have to be willing to give up whatever they produce to the gatherers. The surplus materials/ingredients can be sold or crafted into items that are then sold. The Gil obtained from the sold items is split among those in the team in whatever way that they agree.

We will have a linkshell, as yet to be named, and the best way I can put it is to look at it as the Crafters Guild. It's a group effort to maintain a somewhat stable economy in the shaky start of the game. We would do everything as a group. Set prices, setup sales locations, change the market as needed. We would do this through the very forums we use daily. We would keep track of recipes, factor the costs so that we can give each other and other players the best value while still being able to sustain ourselves. Players can post an item they need, and a group of crafters and gatherers can band together to get that player what they need.

FFXI was known for its tight communities (however forced some of them were.) Let's make FFXIV a smooth and wonderful community. We need to be the future of Lindblum now, by helping each other grow, not only as players, but as a server and a community.

How many of you are actually gonna BE on Lindblum at retail? I surmise that it will be overrun compared to other places from closed beta but that would probably work your advantage :) . This idea sounds pretty cool. I'll be on Istory with some friends.

Also, I just thought about something....our characters will be deleted once they take down beta in a few days....so why are ppl still bazaaring items?

Here's what I'll do. Since I'm going to end up with alot of crap I won't use like meat, hides, shells, etc.

I'll give these items to each type of crafter. A Culinarian will get all the meat, a Smith will get all my ore, etc. etc.

I will be on istory as well with my ls and friends.

Any suggestions for the LS name?

I'll be willing to help, not sure what I want to do yet since I only had the chance to play like 3h with the closed beta but I'll be around for sure.

I will be on istory as well with Fuji
