*This RP is for anyone who'd like to join in. If you dont' RP, don't post. Have fun with this too, it's supposed to be a bit lighthearted!*
Mornings were always particularly rough for Excim. His eyes would squint in the early morning light, and the sounds... oh the sounds. The streets of Jeuno were always so busy in the early morning hours, normally not heard so much in the residential district. But anybody who knew Excim, knew that he rarely spent a morning in his own home. The owner of the Merry Minstrel Mead House, Jeunos premier watering hole, befriended his best customer quite some time ago, and even let him stay in the spare room above the bar when he was too intoxicated to stagger home. This morning was in no way any different from the countless nights Excim had stayed there, and he grimaced as the early rising merchants and adventurers mulled about seemingly just inches from outside his window. He clutched the pillow tightly, then wrapped it around his head and abruptly rolled onto his side.
A loud knock on the door roused him yet again. Bleary eyed, Ex peered out the window to the sun, now shining brightly into his room as if to spite him. He groaned in his disapproval, and wrapped the pillow around his hed tighter. Again, a knock came from the door downstairs, considerably louder than before.
"Go away! No one is here!" Ex yelled, without even opening his eyes. His grip on the pillow tensed. It's too damn early, it's gotta be... what... 10:00 in the morning? And on Lightsday no less... Ex thought to himself. And again, the knock on the door got louder, and again louder still until he finally couldn't take it. He let out a long sigh, and released the pillow from his death grip and headed for the stairs. You have got to be kidding me Grabbing the flimsy wooden railing, he slid his hand down it's cool, smooth surface, feeling every little familiar bump and knot on his side step way down the short, steep staircase. He entered the dark room of the mead house bar, passed the stage and slowly walked to the front door, dressed only in his leather jerkin and a pair of cloth pants he borrowed from his friend, the owner. The knocking on the door still persisted, and Excim was getting increasingly annoyed as he approached the door. With one hand he reached for the lock on the door to open it, and with the other he rubbed the short lived sleep from his eyes and massaged his forehead. The door creaked open in rebellion, and in the bright light he focused on a silhouette.
"What in Altana's name could anybody possibly want in the early hour of 10:00 on Lightsday?! What matter of speaking could possibly be so important for you to wake me?!" His words were livid, even though he had yet to find out who, exactly, he had been speaking to so sternly. "Speak up now, or let me go back to bed."
Excim's eyes began to focus on the silhouetted stranger....
*please, continue on!*
