Post here what the most depressing thing ( in the game ) that ever happend to you. I saw that some guy threw away a PCC. Post pics if u have them too.
 
Nothing ever has happened that is depressing in FFXI for me. It is a video game and I couldn't possibly imagine it being depressing... I wouldn't be paying monthly for something that is supposed to entertain me if it made me annoyed in anyway, shape or form.
 
Watching ESP disband. Amount of work I as well as many others put in every single day to keep it alive and successful is worth more than any PCC or item. Alot of good memories in that shell, went from dominating our own lil HNM Bune to killing Kirin when it wasnt that common. Good times, good people^^
 
Watching a haubergan of mine full fail.

That or when I got in an argument with some friends cause I was stressed beyond belief with school and lashed out, and wrongly so.

Really think it was the latter.

I once lashed out at someone in my LS, one thing built up to the next. But I took it way too far and said some really nasty things and likewise was said to me. I'm still not completely over my own actions from about a year ago.
 
I take back my original post in this thread.... seeing people actually depressed over a video game is very depressing to humanity as a whole.

Who said we were actually depressed....big difference between something being depressing and actually being depressed.

You're a tool, anything somone invests this much time into is going to have some level of emotional impact. It'd be like making a sculpture for a year and accidently knocking it over - while sculpting is almost always a hobby (like gaming) you've invested a lot of time into it and you're going to on some level get upset. Nevermind the fact that this isn't an inanimate peice of clay you're dealing with, but instead real human beings.

I don't understand why people focus on so much negativity over a game.

Theres always something, talk about gilsellers, or someone who sucks at their job, or someone who pissed you off, or something SE did wrong, or someone who sold/stole/borrowed your account, or all the he said she said highschool bullcrap that goes on over nothing.

WTF? I have great fun with FFXI, never once have a given a shit about any of the above. Just talking about the fact that this stuff goes on is depressing in and of itself.

The only thing I see to blame is the huge amount of seriousness that is taken over the game... stop already its "entertainment" not life.

You must spend a lot of your time in the flameboard if you think there is a lot of negativity floating around this game. Visit the link above and you will find an abundance of things that make this game a lot of fun. Is there bound to be some negativity when dealing with other people? Yeah. Especially when you've been chatting with them for well over 2 years now...yeah. Do I find really anything in this game overly upsetting, nope! Do the people who play this game sometimes upset me, hell yeah.

Just like when someone does something to help you out or something nice in the game you get a little excited/happy, why's it different when someone does something negative to you? Anything anyone works hard at has the potential to either a) make you smile or b) upset you.

And yes something depressing and actually being depressed are two totally different ball games. The fact that about 90% of the people in calgary can't drive is depressing - however this does not make me depressed.

I never said there isn't good things that happen. I'm not sure why you feel you have to defend this point... are you just trying to make more negativity?
