The Old Republic

I prefer subscription fees to this microtransaction bullshit. Even if it means I'd spend no money at all to play the game, it breaks the balance. If I'm playing a game as much as a MMO, I'm willing to pay 12 bucks a month to keep it balanced.

It's definitely starting to look fun. Lets just hope it has enough content to keep people interested. Don't won't another Conan on our hands.

waaaaaaahhhh I can't view it at work :(

*edit* I found it!! STINE SIGN ME UP.

what does microtransactions mean?

It means the company running the game will run a system where you can pay real money for certain items or weapons that give you a useful bonus or are just in general better than something you could normally get in the game. Items like exp boosts, hp boosts/shields, mp boosts, special mounts. You name it. With a microtransaction system, you can pay real money for whatever special items they offer through the system they are creating.

It's a pretty popular feature of free to play games. It's also how F2P games make a killing off of people. I've played a few free mmo's with this system.. it really is catchy and ends up usually being the only way to gain an advantage over other players.

Uh, nothing there. Must have gotten taken down?

Apparently got taken down with lightning speed, lol.

Well seems Beta testing has started, I didn't get picked for this round. Did any of you who signed up get picked?

Did not get picked. =|

Well Pre-orders opened today, still no release date. Pre-ordering does have a benefit of early access though. I went ahead and ordered the Collectors Edition seeing as I'm super excited.

About how much is the CE cost? And do you happen to know what extra stuff it will have?

Edit: I checked it out. CE is $150.00 but comes with a lot of shit, plus 7 in-game items.
