How do you all think we stack up to other forums?

I was talking about this with my cousin. She says she has seen more interesting conversation in 1 thread here than she has at any other forum she's tried to join. I show her stuff from time to time, like lolpictures or the Religious threads from a while back, political threads, so on and so forth.

Other forums I have joined either have a small user base <100 or the users are ignorant hooting dick holes (Shinra Online). I can't find another forum that holds my interest or I would be posting there instead of here, as posting here makes me want to play a game I don't have time to play.

Now granted we have our hooting dick holes, but even some of those add interesting content at times. And if they don't they turn pink before too long. The mods have shit on lock down as far as keeping bots out and making sure inappropriate material isn't posted. They also aren't afraid to ban a motherfucker no matter how many green dots is under their name.

What does everyone else think?

I like this site, def more active than any of the other forums I visit. Good variety of stuff from RL to Off-topic to 360/PS3 forums, and the flameboard is usually win if there is some good posts (or at least to laugh and dumb shit people say). There are good members and bad members and the people who are cool/suck probably vary from person to person but you'll get that on any forums you goto. Mainly the amount of people and activity of this site is the thing i like the most, usually something new to read.

I enjoy it :P some interesting things, mostly fun to post around in a lot of places and say shit to get people to respond amusingly, tbh.. hehe.. that always gets fun conversations going.

I only visit one other forum, and it's totally different from this place. Small, exclusive member list (yes we're fuckheaded elitists), the ability to post pirated media and porn and whatever the hell else, and the like. It's mostly for talking about music, books, philosophy, and so on, but there's lots of fun idiocy. I like both places for their contrasts.

We have candy!

Yeah, i've shown posts here to other friends and they've all been interested. Especially during the Peregrine Days

The only other forums I have ever joined were CS-Nation and the Ubuntu Forums.

Ubuntu Forums is interesting because it gives a lot of insight into the world of Linux users, and trust me. They aren't all "MS SUCKS U NEED TO USE LINUX TO BE GOOD" sword-rattlers.

CS-Nation was a site devoted to Counter-Strike, so of course the bulk of threads were effectively "Which Gun is the best?", aside for the Off-Topic Forum, which in general is a lot like QCDN here. Although there were way more Europeans on CSNOTF than there are here; at least it felt that way to me.

uuuungh... I want my sundae.... *fart*

I have 3 forums that I frequent, and all 3 are about as different as night and day.

The smallest is a forum for moms in my area. It's mostly people I've met face to face, and is heavily moderated. No disrespect or cursing of any sort is allowed. Most of the topics are of the "OMG my kid did this!" sort. I mostly just go there for the playdates and stuff they organize because there's nothing that really sparks my interest intellectually.

QCDN falls in the middle. It's small enough that I can know and recognize people by their names/avatars, but large enough for there to be a fairly broad array of people from all different backgrounds and beliefs. There are a few "dick holes" here but we all know and recognize them. I probably post here the most out of the 3 sites.

The third place I go is freaking immense. It has a user base of something like 10,000 active posters from all over the world, so it's active 24/7. It has so many sub-forums in different topics that I have to pick and choose what I want to read; I've gotten into the habit of only going to the forums that interest me, and a lot of the time skimming over about 75% of the posts in a thread there. If I tried to read everything that's posted then I'd never do anything else in life. The upside is that the topics there are always interesting and well-written (non-content posters are banned), the downside is that with 10,000 posters it's a little impersonal and hard to really get to "know" anyone.

This is the only forum I've seriously posted in, although for a short time I was a member of a Gran Turismo forum in 2000,2001. It wasn't nearly as fun as this forum, I really LOL at you guys sometimes, which makes my coworkers go "WTF is he reading?"

I frequent 3 different forums on a regular basis, but I'm by far more active here than anywhere else.

This is pretty much what I was gonna say about qcdn's size - it's a good size. I know most of the community and what they're like as posters, but it's not so small that there's never enough good content. QCDN = the "just right" bowl of porridge.

This is similiar to the other forum I'm a member of, only the posters there generally stay in only a few places, so "getting to know" people there is alot easier. It's not quite as big either, only about 5,000 active posters. This forum trumps all others in shear volume of information made available by the posters however. The posters there are extremely fucking smart (for the most part) in their field of expertise too. The mods and admins do their job very well, especially for such a large site. All in all I really love this forum, by far the best I've found for getting information.

Qcdn is good in a different way, it's alot more fun I guess you could say. Sometimes shit here is just downright hilarious, sometimes it's fun because of all the e-drama that's so easily arroused. I'm also a big fan of the range of our subject matter. We discuss things from politics to porn to religion to video games, all very in-depth discussions. No matter what we're arguing about here, there's always a great passion for the subject, and this leads to sometimes very long and heated discussion, and I like that about this place.
I generally don't agree on anything with about 80% of qcdn, and that's one of the biggest reasons I come here. I enjoy a good argument. Sometimes when there's currently no controversy on qcdn I'll stir some up just for shits and giggles. Hell I can think of more than one occassion I've played devil's advocate just to get an argument going.

I consider qcdn my "forum home", and I wouldn't do that unless it was my favorite forum. With all the forums that are out there, I think that alone says something.

I've tried other places, but every other place was the "OMFG U FAG NOOB BITCH LOL UR DUM" kinda shit. That and the Shinra Online fiasco-type posters.

QCDN is entertaining, most of the time.

I like this place, it seems very active and friendly, thanks Tyrath for inviting me here =)

This place is active 20 out of 30 days in the month. Then its slow. So, when its active, and shits goin down either in RL or FB or Support forum, I like it. When its dead, I frequent Termpro.com (Car Audio) or AZHT.net (Arizona Honda Owners) forum.

But still, when its dead I can get in my PC+1s and all that.
