i think i assumed that you had it lved to about 60ish but was suprised that it wasnt up since you lv mage jobs

I've only leveled two jobs, I wouldn't call that a trend :x
Just for that, I'm taking RNG past 37.

Chapter:15:Neisan's Tiny Adventure and The Red Mage in training...

Hey guys its Khid again I've been pretty busy doing work and college(full time) so I havent had much time recently until now to talk,post,play,etc. As a result I'm not screwing around(as much<3) as I'd normally do, I've been lving my whm extensively and getting maat practice by fighting ruby, first a pic of Ryuujin(sp) sorry it took so long!

so there I was in qulun dome staring at the quadav red mage and his body guards...It's very possible and easy to solo ruby and NOT get aggro trouble, this is best accomplished with /blm. It technically CAN be done with other subs but /blm makes it so easy to the point of it being pure stupidity not to use it...

Steps

1. wait for the two non nm quadav to come together(they usually follow each other) then use an elemental aoe(not sleepga) on them and zone

2. If you did not get both with the first elemental aoe then use another on teh second non nm quadav. Note that it does not matter that it hits ruby or not just do NOT use diaga on any of the mobs to train them to zone.

3. Use sleepga on ruby quadav (eats shadows) and dispel him if you casted diaga on him then he will wake up once you dispel stoneskin unless you wait for the dia effect on him to wear off. You must do this fast because the other mobs(the ones you zoned to make depop) will reappear very quickly. Dispel to stoneskin at least then stick silence and then use an elemental nuke to wake it up.

4. Ruby should be moving twoards you now that he is silenced keep him near the tunnel entrance as much as possible and sleep II him

5. keep silence and sleep on and dispel rest of buffs then do the nuke>sleep>silence process and he's a bitch.

some notes about ruby

he has nm capabilities meaning he will build resistance to your spells over time I started noting this at 50% and under (was 67 at the time) when he would start resisting, so i swapped out of nuking to my af tabard and the rest stuck.

Silence must ALWAYS be up when you nuke as well as blink stoneskin and phalanx.

Ruby is able to 2hr at any given time it seems but usually does it around 70%ish of his life, just sleep it then silence and you should be good.

You dont need chainspell for him unless shit goes horribly wrong which isnt likely

I'd recommend 67 (non capped magic needed) to start soloing your tests, it is good practice for maat in a way but not neccessary

1 ruby down and next morn I log in to find a bst trying to farm snapshots off of it, of course I helped which also got meh killed (pet hit ruby after i slept it)

4th ruby quadav killed and no test drop /wrists....

elvaan maat RDM fight is one of hardest in game. prob only harder as garka.

i think i beat it 2nd try, i can try to give you tips if i can remember them-- i've helped a few people beat him.

then again, when i beat him a few years ago, there was alot less cool gear that there is now

I should be ok Neo, only problem I've had is really resist rates I just need to be at a higher lv or when I get some gil buy another crimson jelly and just nail him with Aero III or water III spam

seeking on whm...fun when you get off work and pt time is over for most of the server (around 9CST)

some of these pics got out of order as you can tell...I try not to delete pics when i'm ingame and doing stuff they get mixed with the other pics and it's a little annoying to go back and forth between them

yeah our pt was pretty bad in teh DD area and I was really that motivated to be done lving whm(nothing against the job it's just the lack of the right jobs at low lvs)
