Do not bother using Gravity on Maat, he will resist pretty much 100% of the time XD(you should rely more on Sleep2 than Bind on Maat, i forgot which but he outright resist 100% on either bind or gravity during my fight) . :Edit:

When you go in, IMMEDIATELY RUN to maat do not waste time, once you see him Sleep him... The longer you wait to sleep him, the more buff he's gonna put on him.

Put on Blink, Stoneskin, Refresh then Dispel. Nuke or Rest when needed... Then Sleep2 again, rest for bit, recheck buff/renew buff, nuke, Sleep2 rinse repeat.

If you have Meds, at around 50% Maat, go Chainspell then Nuke nuke (sleep him if he use Nuke etcetc) As long you have max skill in enfeeble and elemental .. you should be fine.. if not, go skill those 2 up...

Oh and in my opinion, Pro and Shell is useless with Maat RDM, why? Well, the point is you don't want to let him touch you at all in the first place :p... At least he didn't touch me once when i fight him, apart from getting blinded by his Blind.. >:D

One more thing, if you want some practice, try to look for people that is doing Bastok Mission9-1, that NM is pretty fun for RDM to solo, and pretty good for RDM to practice (and ego boost)

what about making it quick and just sleep dispel and CS nuke and sleep when you're low on mp then use meds and finish him?

i need at least bind for that
 
What Kirl said, including the fact that Sleep I was probably not a good option. It would be nice if it landed since Sleep II overwrites, but not likely. Protect and Shell - why? You don't exactly have a lot of mp to waste, and if even you did, I still wouldn't recommend it. Bind is random, Gravity doesn't help much at all unless you went on windsday for stronger Aero III which you wouldn't since you don't even HAVE the spell... You could CS Nuke, but you don't have the top one, and you'll obviously have to cast more to play 'catch up'. Might work against you.

what if i didnt and just went all out and he pops asuran off on me while he's meleeing me? i wouldnt survive

Well, pick one or the other, you're burning al ot of mp on both. As Dowzer said, he shouldn't be that close... If Maat is awake meleeing you for X amount of time, something is wrong. And if a certain crafter would bust out a Pluto, a problem you wouldn't see.

I missed that lschat, my character might have just been left online when I went to work (I also afk ALOT). But I'm very interested in the pic^^
 
yeah I did, usually anything fairly exciting I take pics of^^

i have 2-3 besiegeds in there as well

Khidir you trying some good ole' fashioned Gravity and Bind?
Those 2 come in handy for when you're trying to run away from him to cast something from a safe distance.


I didnt see you casting those 2 spells >.>;;

Paralyze will be nice if it sticks but it's not all that necessary.

I didnt have much time with sleep duration (the few that landed) on maat, granted I should have done that first as soon as I slept him...instead of healing myself

I forgot which spell he resists totally, either Gravity or Bind (i think Gravity the fact that i have wind merit and he still resist 2 times, after that i stop using it and stick to Bind and Sleep2). I prefer Sleep2 than Sleep1... why? I think Sleep2 has less resist chance than 1 from my personal experience.

As Neisan pointed out, if Maat is smacking you for a long time, something is wrong >.<... Maat only touched me with his Blind spell once in my fight.

You really need to cap your elemental skill before attempting Maat btw (i noticed you are still gaining elemental skill when soloing Ruby quadav) ... and gear up Int, enfeeble and maybe elemental gears for him too :p
