Movie The Secret of Kells

[Reya]

I heard a lot of great things about this independent hand drawn movie through a few online sources including Rotten Tomatoes which scored it at a perfect 100! It won best animated movie in 2009 in Europe and is being released in the US this month. I watched it last night and I have to say I was left breathless! Between the animation and the music, it was really a great artistic take on the creation of the Book of Kells and its completion in Ireland sometime between the 6th and 9th century. The characters and environments made it seem, at least to me, that I was looking at a stained glass window or cover of a prayer book, much like the book itself. The movie is only a little over an hour long. Big thumbs up from me

Looks interesting, while that animation is very artistic in nature I'm not sure I'd enjoy it because of that. Though if I ever get the chance, I'll check it out.
