So, reading today's press release about it, these two paragraphs sold it for me.

Shivering Isles features more than 30 hours of new gameplay and allows you to explore an entirely new plane of Oblivion – the realm of Sheogorath, the Daedric Prince of Madness. Shivering Isles adds to the existing world of Oblivion so you can continue playing with your existing save game/character, or create an all new character just to explore the new content.

Within the Realm of Sheogorath, players can explore the two extreme sides of the god’s madness – the sublimely creative and the completely psychotic. Something is happening to the Shivering Isles and Sheogorath himself looks to you to be his champion and defend his realm and its inhabitants from destruction. Do you have the strength to survive his trials, tame a realm fraught with paranoia and despair, and wear the mantle of a God?

Sheogorath? Fucking awesome. AWESOME. The best Daedric shrine quest in the game gets expanded.

I can't wait for tomorrow.

Tomorrow? I just picked my copy up 20 minutes ago.

Haven't cracked it yet though... hella stoked.

Wow.. I really wish I had oblivion :\ my computer needs an upgrade bad.

Did y'all have any problems with quests from the original game after installing this expansion?

I went back to try to finish the thf guild quests and I can't seem to get my next quest after having installed the expansion. It is stuck at the fence $700 then go wait in the Imperial City to be contacted. I've waited in the dang city since forever and a day and nothing. :(

I haven't tried any of them actually. I made a new character, bombed through the SI quests and dungeons, and that's it. I only went back to Cyrodiil for a couple spells and items that you can't get in SI.

However there are codes and tags you can enter in via the console (if you're on PC) that will allow you to manually set which stage of a quest you're at. I can't provide more details than that, never tried it myself, but I would not be surprised if the Oblivion forums or the UESPWiki page had some more info on it.
