The ultimate dancer gear setup

What is it?

Right now i'm running a ton of situational gear on my dnc trying to eke every last drop of usefulness out of the job because its INCREDIBLY fun to play, while at the same time incredibly undervalued. 10% melee haste and mainhealing ability that doesn't rely on mp, capable of eva tanking near thf, nin levels - tons of accuracy bonuses.. and still people treat it like a melee smn.

Right now I run:

Main: Ermine's Tail
offhand: BK+1 or joytoy

Head: anwig salade w/ str+4/acc+10/attk +5/wsacc +15 on WS
Walahra tuban on haste build
Etoile Tiara on Waltz
Dancer's Tiara on samba

Neck: Chiv chain - maybe i need Soil gorget?

Earring: Brutal / supanomimi (enchant w/ +2chr on waltz

Body: Mirke Wardecors (acc+10, dual wield +3)
or Raparee Harness for pure haste setup (rare - dunno if dw+3 beats it yet)
and Etoile Casaque (violent Flourish piece)
and Cobra Harness (self-sc WS piece)
and Dancer's Casaque (waltz)

Hands: Dusk Gloves (haste TP piece)
Cobra Unit mittens (ws piece)
Dancer's Bangles (step piece)
Etoile Bangles (fashion )

Ring: Ecphoria ring/ rajas ring (tp)
Ulthalems ring / Rajas ring (ws)

Back: Forager's

Belt: Potent Belt (TP)
Life belt +1eva (in case i need 2 accuracy)
Warwolf belt (WS)

Legs: Etoile Tights (haste/jig)
Cobra Subligar (WS)

Feet: Etoile toe shoes (step)
Dusk ledelsens (haste)
Cobra Leggings (ws)
Dancer's Soes (jig)

ammo: tiphia sting (tp)
Sonia's Plecum (waltz)
Sturm's Report (violent flourish)


besides sonic/speed/swift belt (working on swift belt atm)
and PCC...

Any suggestions?

enkidu hands / denali feet / diabolo's earring for ws when it comes to dagger ws id assume.

ive got both, wonder if etoile or denali would be more useful to ws than cobra now.. guess it comes down to that 1 extra tp I need for self darkness, but will check it out!

Azoth would be nice to main hand so you could sub Ermine. Love torque and enkidu feet probably would be nice too. Also +1 dusk gloves since you said ultimate

Personally I go dual daggers with capped dagger skill over a single dagger and joy sword offhand. Azoth is probably the best dagger for dancer. Dancer has B+ in dagger and D in sword.

I personally would go with enkidu hands/legs if you have enough acc, also a cuchulains mantle or af cape. Absolutly you should try and get a soil if you have no love torque.

Maybe look into Antares Harness or Enkidu's harness for WS/Evasion piece. And someone mentioned Enkidu's Mittens for WS as well, handy piece. I also use Enkidu's subligar for WS. Enkidu's stuff is pretty dandy for lots of things.

I have a SH+1 for evasion stuff, so would probably continue to ws in mirke.. just havent made an eva setup since im not usually tanking, and it kills my macro space =p

I meritted with this guy and i saw the lvls of damage dnc could get to.
I was pretty impressed. Even with the 25% peice damage bonus.
1-1.3 k DE / 1.5-1.65k with saber dance.
Melee hits for about 50-80.
capped merits and haste samba maxed with saber dance maxed.
Was hitting fast.
Think we had 1 brd casting speed and attck.
Pick up group but he outdamage all the DD's there. They were on the gimp side but still was funny.

im attempting to get an Ogre Jambiya with double attack +2 >< but so far not working out


personally i think azoth/o.jambiya would be a good combo, double attack is always welcome in my book

but i also have a variety of other offhand daggers

I checked with him and he has max haste samba and a couple points in saber dance (which i wouldnt do - its strictly recast) but otherwise normal merits.

jamb+1/gnadbhods/enkidu gloves is about the only big change from my setup - both of us looking forward to update gear though.

i personally think there is no super set up, but there are do and don'ts for dancer. it's personally how you play the job and what situations you find yourself most often in. i usually have my haste set on because a taru dnc with my dagger skill capped and merited to 270 i have no problem hitting. i'm usually main geared with exception of gear macros.
