The Ultimate in BRD fussiness.

I have to say i don't like Hanz one bit, but when it comes meriting im sorta a dick also. If i'm on cor it has to be with a brd and a rdm to maximize to xpga. All my other jobs though i can settle with mediocre setups.

Hanz is a American but his ethnicity is Japanese. As for all this seeking business this might be why he's one of the few bards i actually see around whitegate with a flag up for longer than an hour

I read the title as the ultimate in brd fussy-ness. :(

I remember Hanzo meleeing as Brd in Pts.

Quick question. . . how does dnc slow the stuff down? coz of lack of damage dealt?

I was thinking how well they do, can the Dnc with 2brds or brd/cor take care of the other melees?

Well if the damage is covered by the other DDs a dancer can pretty well replace a whm or rdm in a merit party if they know what they're doing.

The extra advantage this brings is that the support roles like brd and cor only have keep melee songs/rolls up on the party itself without having to worry about the need to keep any mage refreshed, TP is never in short supply and on a camp like birds you shouldn't really have to worry about any status debuffs.
This only makes the brd's and cor's jobs easier.
Aside from that a Dancer's main weapons are daggers which have a slight damage bonus on those anyway.

The only real downside I'd see in a setup like that is the lack of raise, however the corsair or a second bard subbing white mage can solve that problem.
Also if you don't pull more then you can keep asleep there should be absolutely no reason to die in a merit party anyway.

I guess that makes me a dick too, when I'm on COR I have the same requirements as well... if your asking me to PT as COR and don't have a BRD...Don't ask. If I wanted to pull for a cannon PT I would seek as BRD. When I'm on RDM or BRD my requirements go down a bit, I'll settle for at least a RDM + BRD PT + 4 melee. Preferably with Utsusemi. There are very few melee's I know that can NOT be an MP Sponge with /sam available, so I usually default to /nin or GTFO.

I've repped the red mage in the party and done quite well but I dont know if my Haste Samba, little bit of hitting damage, 1step/mob, and Cures are equal to a RDM's haste + Cures.

What is the % of haste that is given by Haste Samba? Because I was under the impression that RDMs were invited to cannons for the hastes + dia (and healing).

So far my experiences with DNC have given me the opinion that they're not really great DDs (not like a WAR, MNK, DRK), and I still wouldn't want to replace one with a RDM or BRD if I wanted to get the most out of my xp/hr.

According to lolwiki it's only 5%, and only on weapon's delay.
Compared to the rdm, whm or smn's haste which is 15% it's a huge lack, however one bard doing march compensates for that a little and the dancer doing damage over time themselves compensates for the lack of damage done due to the slower weapon delay.

However, not implying that they can be full replacements for those they can do the job if they know what they're doing without losing too much on the exp per hour ratio.

Some times I don't mind pulling, infact I insist on pulling when it comes to the bird camp. No back fire elegys or lullabys to worry about and light shot rarely misses with a godod agi setup/Apollos staff. I'll pull for other places but seems easier for a brd most of the time. As for Melee requirments yea /Nin please but when i comes to the bird camp Drg/Sam please .

why don't people like blu in merit? Not like we're gimped in doing damage or is it because of mp limitations?

I hear about war, nin, drg, drk doing damage etc. but when I ask blu I get a dunno or lulz

oh shit, that sig, lol

But on topic, I normally go with the first person who sends me the invite. Normally I end up paying for that, but I try to give everyone a chance. Now, if the person asks with an unreadable tell, chances are, I'll say no.

Back fire elegies should really have no issues for BRD, honestly. /whm resists it 9/10 times. And /nin you should have shadows up before you pull anyway. So you really shouldn't be getting hit my those elegies in the 1st place on BRD.

It's true its more the lullabys than anything else was just stating that corsair (in my perspective) is a better puller at bird camp.

Hey Khidir

The truth is that compared to the big hitters, BLU can't compare really. BLU is a great job in certain situations but as a DD in a merit party they will on average be way behind on damage %... If I'm in a merit pt with top notch war / nin / mnk / drg combinations I know a lot of dmg will be dealt. Personally I prefer NIN, WAR, WAR as the dd but that's my biased opinion^^
