The Version Update Has Arrived! (11/19/2007)

Can you even get Lynx leather yet? All these fools buying highly marked up items are stupid.
 
Well I guess my SAM is going to take another hit from this expansion, 2 in a row hurt. I wonder just how much they removed on my 3 final Weapon Skills and obviously 1 Dex no longer equals 1 ACC and I would think the same goes for STR according to thier post on POL.

I sure hope I can at least keep up with the other melee now. But SE sometimes has a tendency to overkill a nerf as we all know lol. But hey maybe it wont be as bad as I think.
 
Has anyone actually quantified the re-re-readjustment to 2-handers yet?
 
1 str = 0.75 atk
same with dex presumably?

Lightbased sleep, 26 MP, 1,5 min duration, 30 sec recast without fast cast or haste. Cast time 3 sec.

So basically, the exact same as Sleep II, only 3 MP cheaper and light-based instead of dark-based.

It seems 1 Str = .75 Att

Osode gives you 7 att if I looked at it right on my friends character, so it seems to round down.

When I get this patch downloaded I'll test for myself.

Its not even really that big, if they streamlined their download or at least allowed multiple methods besides ingame it'd probably go a bit easier and faster. I know at least I can download 200 megs in like 10 min tops, but whenever FFXI updates it's always slow.. taking an hour about with 20 min left right now.

You know why? Because SE are fucking stupid. The only new thing is the item list, spell list, ability list etc. Its a total of 40 MB only. The reason its so huge, is because, as I said, SE are stupid, as you download the previous 2 patches at the same time.

As you can see by it not at all touching the previous 1008 files that's outside the ROM folders, and instead download them all again to put them in the ROM1 folder.

So not only do you waste time, you have a wasted 70 MB on your disc. You'll be glad to know that this patch only added a total of 8MB to the previously downloaded 74 MB, making it 82MB.

So we have 74 MB download of useless shit that we didn't have to download at all, then

8 MB of useful shit
15 MB worth of armor text file
6 MB of usable items text file
9 MB of weapon text files
600KB of spells
80KB of abilities
100KB of area names
And a few other, like adding NPC's to the zones, and a few message lines, which are about 10-16KB each.

Making it a total of 113 MB, whee~

I might be wrong, and the the previous 74MB were just copied over, but that still means 74MB that's just taking up space on your PC/PS2/PS3/Xbox/whatever...
 
Mine said Wednesday at noon it should be in and unloaded.
