Ok, so my jazz combo has its next gig at our alto player's uncle's birthday party.
He's really into latin jazz, and we're trying to get ahold of as many latin songs as we can for him.
So far : ( all we have is The Girl From Ipanema featuring me on flute for that.
I'm thinking I'm going to be playing more flute than anything else for this gig.
Anyway, can you think of anything else? Or any places I can get music for this?
I was also thnking about that song called either "Soul Bossa Nova" or "Lava Lounge." I think it's the song from austin powers, on flute.
Also seeing if I cant' find a heavy bossa version of Fly Me to the Moon. If you can find the standard version they used for Neon Genesis Evangelion, that'd do too, seeing as that's bossa as well.
I guess you can tell I'm really looking for bossa nova.
: ) Please, I'm posting petitions for songs like this on every forum I'm on. If anyone can help us, it'd be greatly appreciated. We need music with melody, bassline, and preferably chord symbols too. If we can't find too many songs, we might end up doing quite a few rotations of soloing on the ones we do have. Those chord notations will be greatly appreciated ^^
Thank you, in advance.
Oh, and the instrumentation for our combo is:
Piano
Accoustic-electric guitar with a jazz pedal.
Electric Bass ( i think made for jazz )
Standard Drumset, set up for jazz
Alto saxophone
And then me, on Tenor Sax (bari or alto if we need it too) Clarinet, and flute.
