The virtue of Absolute Virtue

No, you're right, you cant lock the 2-hours because the Dev team sure looked like a bunch of idiots wasting valuable 2hours on a lolSoulVoice right?

He still uses his 2hours but once you mimic his 2hr, its locked. This doesn't sttop AV from spamming WS after WS after WS like he seems to do, so he is still a pain in the ass.

Actually if anything Soul voice seems like a safe 2 hour to go all out on because while he's soul voicing he'd more then likely be singing songs on himself or enfeeble songs. While in this state he wont be chainspell manafonting comets and meteors all around

Understandable, but that isn't exactly what happened. the valueble 2hours lost and saw no need for them were ones like Benediction... 3-4 of those went off healing for 0s or low hp amounts, it wasnt worth it for WHM to blow their 2hours

The only thing I can offer for wasting bene is he is an Aern type mob and alot of their tp skills have silence petrify plague poison and para it might had been aimed to erase some of that, probably not but still a good chance

Explain how everyone else used their 2hours at the same time the WHMs did, not being a smartass there but none in the scene seemed to be vague ill for that many Benedictions going off, WHM still have Divine Viel if they really needed to remove a stat. via all members in party.

They were hoping for Benediction is how i see it but got screwed over with soul voice... or the WHM had an itching with the the macro-finger

Also dare I add this a known shell's last attempt about 2-3 weeks ago was while his 2 hour's were not "lockable" they were readied slower becoming stunable but under what signaling it is still unknown

The Initial 15 two-hours can't be locked. No matter what you do or how you try to do it, they won't lock. And if you stun it, they can still be used. Also adding that again this is still speculation.

It has to be done one-by-one, job matching job.

The Dev team had alot of key jobs that involved 2houring in the beginning, SAM, DRK, WHM, RDM, BRD, BLM, PLD (Although no NIN 2-houred)

I also counted 15 2hours going off i may have missed 1 or 2 but it can still be a sign.

still be used but giving ample time to gtfo range

If you go back to the Bluegartr discussion, you'll see that matching 2hrs to attempt to lock AVs 2hrs was one of the first things that the SE video seemed to be suggesting to people. When it was tried, however, matching 2 hours had no effect on either which 2hr AV uses afterwards, or how often AV uses a 2hr. One of the main LSs posted a series of videos of their attempts (with transcribed chat logs), and no weakening locking or slowing of 2hours occurred.

Oh, and in the SE videos, the events can't be 2 hours apart. They were either done around the same time, or were at least 8 hours apart simply because all of the action shown occurred within two adjacent gamedays (on most of the videos, the diffefent languages all had slightly different versions).

If you have the link i would like to see it please, this AV video happened back months ago and im not gonna filter through all of the forums based upon AV.

I understand that this was assumed months ago when it was released but i still believe the 2hours are the key, there are many thoeries to it.

AV uses 2hr (Benediction)
you now have 5 seconds to use 3 two-hours and one must be correct.

PLD (2hr)
BLM (2hr)
RDM (2hr)
~Failed
WHM (2hr)

AV uses 2hr (Benediction)
you now have 5 seconds to use 3 two-hours and one must be correct.

PLD (2hr)
BLM (2hr)
WHM (2hr) 6seconds after 2hr
~Failed

AV uses 2hr (Benediction)
you now have 5 seconds to use 3 two-hours and one must be correct.

PLD (2hr)
BLM (2hr)
WHM (2hr)
~Success

Benediction locked

It could explain why WHM and/or everyone else spammed their 2hr on 1st scene. And Why the RDM the 3rd job to go off during 2nd scene.

and i know theyre more then 2hrs apart, the only one you cant determine is the 1st zoom, it looks like thundersday but could be wind to ice or water to wind. But I already specified the timeline of these scenes didnt really matter in the video.

I seriously believe youre onto something. I mean it really makes sense. I dont think locking AV's 2hrs would make him THAT much easier, he is still the uber-NM of the game, but it makes his defeat a lot more feasible.

It has to be done through search, BG forums moved and the old links no longer work, so it'll take me a few.

Also, it isn't really clear what you're saying. When you say 3 2hrs, are you saying three must be used (no more, no less)? And specifically what are you referring to when you say "locked"?

(actually, if you have the approx date the SE video came out, it may help narrow it down too)

I mean like you have 3 tires to get it correct... in all honesty it could be slightly more then 3 but i believe 3 because of the video and chainspell.

Its a way of making players gamble against themselves and decide to not only them but their fellow players if they should or should not 2hr.

and when i mean locked i mean AV can nolonger use that specific two-hour.

I am sure there are linkshells who have tried and tried to match AVs 2hrs, but you have tto think like SE. Pin the players against themselves and AV and now you have a true bar fight.

Most importantly. Between the 3 scenes where they zoom in on all the 2hours. Only the Chainspell one sticks out with the lesser of the importance.

Doesnt matter what language it was in im sure that the RDM was still the 3rd 2hr to go off within a time limit. AV readying it couldve just been a NA glitch.

What I would like is a solid comparison between the AV video, and the one linkshells have recorded (through videos, pics dont help) And I would love you very much if you could find that for me court... god I hope Iso doesn't see that :halo:

To clearify the 3 2hours, i mean like within a wall of 2hours It better match AV's 2hr within the 1st 3 tries otherwise you failed and just blew yours and prob rest of the alliances 2hours

Ok (just making sure I was understanding what you were saying), then it's shown multiple times in those videos that using the matching 2hr straight after AV doesn't stop AV using that 2 hour again. We tried that as well, with no success. If that were the case AV wouldn't be as much of a problem, as its really only about 4 of the 2hrs that cause the major problems

Through all of the videos, Demo actually had no effect on AVs 2hrs at all. They occurred at regular intervals (from the time the previous 2hr wears off) all through the fights, with maybe 2 exceptions in all of their videos (which seems to be missed messages due to maybe lag).

I was trying to be a little kind earlier in this thread but it really just hits a nerve for me because I had to read through the entire BG thread when it was new.

Over the course of more than one full month, every single frame, every single second, every possible outcome from that video has been thoroughly analyzed hundreds of times over. Every possibility has been divulged by the most insightful of minds and the highest level of players on this game. It's been attempted, re-attempted, and attempted again.

Unless you are somehow so incredibly wise that you have found something that somehow, over one thousand people, over hundreds of hours of analysis, over the course of 2 months now, have missed, what you are saying is not new. it is not original, and it is not the solution to killing AV.

You're not magically on to something. If you want to, go read through the entire AV thread: http://www.bluegartrls.com/forum/showthread.php?t=47943&highlight=Absolute+Virtue

In this thread you will find the analysis results of every test ever done on AV, and every theory explained by the NA and EU FFXI community.

At the very least, read through it before coming on anywhere and saying you've magically found the cure to the cancer that is killing FFXI, AV.

So would it pretty much be up to chance as to whether or not the correct 2hr was guessed? Seems kinda random dont ya think?

If it annoys you so much to read this thread because you already read another one, then why do you keep reading this one and posting? So yeah, maybe a lot of people already did their research and posted it. So what? Some of us havent been playing that long to know this first of all, second, discussing it, as wrong as it may be according to you, is a lot more fun than sitting there staring blankly at a screen full of posts from some time ago.

Come on man, dont rain on our parade, just let us discuss it and if in the end it all turns out to be moot, so what? It was fun! :woot:

Edit: Sorry for the double post >_<

I never said i was the savior of a defeat to an "unbeatable" monster. I'm pointing out my notes to members of qcdn and maybe to see some of their input. Not "Not another fucking AV thread... Let me go post in it and say how i am disgusted that one exists" seriously I have no problems with you and I want none with you now. If you don't like this thread or what I or anyone else has to say in this thread, theres the door and don't let it smack you on the ass on the way out because clearly you have chosen to make yourself unwelcome in this thread.

And thankyou for the thread, once i am done looking through courtnies then i'll go onto that one, until then, i'll keep posting my findings on this NM and any other experience i can gain when and if i fight AV.

I don't see how its fun discussing the biggest bottleneck in the game to date, something that makes people quit over just how ridiculous it is. It's just depressing, realizing that you waited so long for results from SE just to find that the results they actually give are incredibly vague and possibly not even an answer at all.
