The virtue of Absolute Virtue

Two-Hour Scenes

English Version

Lightningsday 6:50 Soul Voice
Notes: 1 PLD 2hours before Soul Voice. 15 others 2hours follow. Why?

Lightningsday 5:07 Chainspell
Notes: The DRK and SAM run in and engage AV (Assuming TP burn considering its a bit foolish to run in if it spams meteor)

Iceday 12:10, Call Wyvern
Notes: Only one wyvern pops and is kited away, this is also shown during the Astral flow that only one wyvern appears and is kited away by the rdm.

French Version

Lightningsday 8:55 Astral Flow
Notes: Look in the background and you'll see someone kiting a wynav around the bend right before this is used.

Iceday 16:14, 100 Fists
Notes: Their DD move in on this 2hr, They however do not 2hr. (possibly to burn what TP they have while waiting)

Lightningsday 5:07 Chainspell

German Version

Lightningsday 8:55 Astral Flow
Notes: If you look throughout the entire scene, you can't find either the DRK with the Relic Scythe or the SAM anywhere. Why?... are they weakened or are they fighting Wynavs to the kited area? This seems impossible since the video displays the DRK and SAM running in during Hundred Fists and Chain spell.

Iceday 14:42, Soul Voice

Iceday 16:55, Meikyo Shisui

Japanese Version

Iceday 16:55, Meikyo Shisui

Lightningsday 13:55 Astral Flow
Notes: No Wynav sighted, doesn't mean it wasn't kited out of the area. Also the DRK and SAM are engaged during the Astral Flow. This gives me concern because the Wynav isnt there and since it has gone out of view once before... its curious as to what happens to it. (Kill party who isn't shown, most likely)

Iceday 14:42, Soul Voice

Notes: This as Courtney says the same scene I don't doubt any of it but I had to review this when the the JP 2hours didnt line up with the video. Its minor but I still revied it.

Critical notes:
This clip and the time line Courtney provides seems accurate and if so, why crop it so bad and not leave it in its original form? Conclusion to that is SE wants the language barier broken just as they do in the game and they want everyone working on the videos and putting the puzzle back together.

The day change between ice and thunder to show regen purposes, it just strikes me odd that they weren't concerned about this or showing it because they already revealed that secret.

Only one wyvern is spawned at a time. Was showing JoL and killing the pets proving the rumor that if you kill enough, AV will only spawn one at a time.

Where fuck does the Wyvern go when its summoned, yes around the corner but it never shows its face again except when a new one is spawned.

Still building, just putting out what I've seen from all four videos.

Oh and if you have a link to where Sage Sundi has said this is meant to be an 18 hour fight, I'd be very interested in seeing it. I've never seen that reported.

Give me a second on that. that post was in the PW Round III post... and thats probably buried now.

the link will be in this post when found.

Also, Wikia also mentions this.

Wynavs are run away from the main group, because they tend to explode...

I can't see the video where I am at the moment, but AV normally summons 3 (6 at low HP) and holding the 3 doesn't stop it from summoning more (some popping off camera?). They're likely to be taken away to be killed safely.

Exact orders of chat logs aren't necessarily accurate, the order of close together events gets mixed due to either lag, or the game sending data to the client in packets rather than continuously.

The French and German videos show the wyvern being kited away by a taru, possibly the same taru seen at the end of NA version, then AV uses Astral Flow.

Here's a pic... its blurry but if you look you can see the wyvern and taru in the back.

I know they explode, but i'm not sure if they die and depop or they head back to AV if they actually kill the kiter. (BG posts make it seem like they survive after they Mijin).

They walk back to AV if the kiter dies. They follow the kiter at flee speed though, so they're a bitch to try to hold (and they keep getting summoned).

(oh and that link doesn't work for me)

wynavs cast aga3 iirc lol. The reason you see only one wynav, I think, is that it lost aggro and came back.

Just a note about the "XXX is readied."
"AV uses XXX."

This does occour in game. But it is used for weapon skills.
It's implimented to help us skillchain.
Now with the theory that you need to skillchain 2 hours. It seems feasable. The code is already there, they just need to include 2 hours into it.
All 2 hours are matched. That is one theory. Another would be to pair 2 hours.
AV uses 2 hours together, although which pairs of all 14 i do not know.
Chainspell and manafont is one of those. But how close together does AV use these?
The timespan may be to use ours inbetween him using his 2nd twin 2 hour.
Also this includes the referance to sin - virtue (Yawn).
manafont dark/chainspell light.

...

explain only one Wynav in the NA video as well then?

Yes this rdm spams Diaga (for multiple wyverns) in it but what is wierd is you don't you "X wyvern gains the effect of dia" or whatever it spouts out.

A short Derail and i'll bring this back into swing and connect with AV

As most of you know, a Tropical storm was over the state I live in and... although its just wind and rain going really fast... the aftermath with all the power outages made me realise something I was tought in college.

My store received numerous power failures and within seconds of each other. My house, while at work, lost power in a flickering manner (some things went off, others back on but not completely.) The bank I went to for my deposit, Had this same problem. They lost power and only half of their computers only were on or their connection to the local server was down and the main counters could not connect.

Any tech or for that matter anyone with the know how of your computer devices will figure out this problem... others will just have a confused look on their head and go "well wtf... its getting power, I have power, but its not working?!"

Another example is if you drop a phone with a memory card in it while your playing music and the music stops... you check your music folder the songs are there but they wont play... why?

The answer is simple. You've booted or a device has been turned on improperly and the device must be reset. Stop, relax, and be patient. Turn the device off that appears to be malfunctioning and let it cool down for a minute. For phones with memory cards, you turn the phone off, pull the card out and properly put the card back in place. Turn the device back on and you'll realise nothing was wrong, its working normal again.

This happened to my store, this happened in my house, this didnt happen at the bank because I called them fucking idiots for making me go through drive through with 5,000 hard cash in my car...

So why did I bring this up? Simple... What SE gave us was 4 videos filled with impartial scenes of the same linkshell fighting the same AV. This looks like shit and nothing matches what theyre doing with what players say can and can't be done.

So... let's sit back and focus what needs to be done.

1) Take what or if any puzzle you think you have, no matter how close you think you are to solving this and take it apart.

2) Go smoke a bowl or what other addicting habbit you may have and do it to cool off.

Go do that now and rest your brain and while you do that I'll put a new post up.

Keep in mind the vid is in pieces, so what SE released is the key parts that we should focus on. Another thing to keep in mind is why did SE break the video into parts (asides from the fact that the fight took a fair amount of time). Think about the actions that are going on right when the video fades back in as well. At one point in the vid, a PLD uses Invincible right before AV uses Soul Voice, isnt it strange that in this case AV DIDNT "ready" his 2hr but instead "used" it right away and yet later on he "readied" Chainspell and THEN used it?

Ok, welcome back!

Are we all ready to turn this back on? (Testing 1,2,3 testing)
Ok good.

3) Put the video back together starting with JoL and place everything in the proper time line as it was meant to be. This video spans 3 days and they fall back to back, don't assume as I did that the video equated to multiples of the same day. You don't need to know all languages of what is being done here.

This video is roughly 3-4 hours long depending the length of time it took them to kill JoL and spawn AV.

While JoL is being fought, SE shows the players killing the pets JoL spawns.

Whats to be noted here that can be seen easily?

Kill all three spawns of his pet, they don't need to be simultanious but they need to be killed. Not hold 2 and kill 1. Kill all 3.

Even after they 9 spawns of each mob is killed... continue killing the sharks.

Also there are melee on JoL and a SMN using Bloodpacts in the back with leviathan.

Once you've killed the pets, make your BLM assist in killing JoL and take your time with him dont speed through and don't worry about who dies.

What can't be seen so easily or passed up because its JoL and not AV so why bother watching it?

Noone... noone is 2houring. Ya I know its not the focus but if you think real hard you can see this. Why is noone 2houring? Is it because if you do 2hr AV will have no mercy on you for being a selfish fool and become more aggressive? Who knows...

The SMN only appears to summon Leviathan. (possibly for Spinning Dive)

JoL dies... AV pops

AV Iceday 12:10, Call Wyvern
player 2hrs used: blm, pld, smn, drg (call wyvern), rdm, brd, blm

The only note worth soley pulling out of this 2hr is the DRG JA Call wyvern. And it appears only one Wynav spawns. This can't be solidly proven because it cuts out as the rdm runs by with the wyvern and only one can be seen here.

AV Iceday 14:42, Soul Voice
player 2hrs used: blm, smn, blm, drg, brd, brd, sam, whm, blm, drk, blm, rdm

The DD are on AV, no JAs are being shown.

AV Iceday 16:14, 100 Fists
player 2hrs used: blm, brd, blm, brd, smn, rdm

The SAM dies and the DRK is still on AV, still no JAs

AV Iceday 16:55, Meikyo Shisui
player 2hrs used: blm, brd, blm, sam, drg, brd, smn, rdm, drk, brd

The SAM, although weakened appears to still be fighting AV along with the DRK.

The scene placed in the beginning of each video with the day change goes here.

AV Lightningsday 5:07 Chainspell
player 2hrs used: blm, brd, rdm, brd

A RDM dies near the end of the french scene. The DRK and SAM run back in to engage, possibly because they were weak?

A PLD 2hrs before AV
AV Lightningsday 6:50 Soul Voice
player 2hrs used: blm, whm, whm, blm, sam, drg, whm, smn, blm, blm, brd, drk, rdm, brd, brd

The number of jobs that follow after AVs 2hr is 15, I just find it an odd coincidence, nothing special probably
Players you don't normally see are shown when the camera begins to rotate.

AV Lightningsday 8:55 Astral Flow
player 2hrs used: blm, blm, blm, brd, rdm, brd, blm, drg, smn, whm, rdm, drk

This clip shows one wyvern in the back being kited and possibly killed to an unknown destination. It more solidifies the possibility of AV being able to spawn only one wyvern at a time.

AV Lightningsday 13:55 Astral Flow
player 2hrs used: pld, blm, smn, brd, drg, blm, blm, pld, blm, rdm, brd, rdm

The SAM and DRK are once more seen dealing damage to AV, still no use in JAs or WSs

A clip of AV is shown being defeated with no time and a bunch of players clapping their hands or waving or doing nothing at all.

Whats to take note?
Why the DRG who was there in party standing still for so long and then all of a sudden engaging, and without his wyvern.

The DRK and SAM are still engaged but this time they are performing Weaponskills (Possibly to end whatever hp it has left before it pulls a Benediction out)

Ending notes:

Those who 2houred most of the time, practically did nothing during their two-hours.
Chainspells and Manafonts with no spells to follow,
Benedictions that healed for little or no health lost.
Soul voices with no songs. SAM 2hr without spamming Weapon skills.
Call wyvern while he DRG was never never engaged.
Astral flow while carby was out and never moved either.
PLD 2hrs during or usually on the event a Bind was thrown on.

The only 2hr that would appear to provide any benefit to the player is Blood weapon, but idk what all triggers it either for it to be very effective or beneficial to the job.

When the 100 fists went off, The are only mage 2hrs going off.

Its one that is hard to see and one I can not confirm but it seems that absolutely ~noone~ and I mean noone changes their equipment during the video. If someone wants to prove this or anything else wrong they can be my guest.

4) Now that the video is together as a whole. it is now time to analyze what they did to accomplish this goal.

5)Hypothesize and report what you think the trigger is.

I wrote down almost every step with notes I really hope this helps solve the puzzle

The timeline for each language is chopped up deliberately so that players have to work together to figure it out. This is SE and all they know how to do is challenging puzzles that have simple answers to them. This video is just apart of that.

The time line is accurate, the differences in actual time on the game is chopped up because players frapping the fight have to move, reposition and reshoot the angle.

Right right, but my thought is that it was also pieced together this way deliberately as well to give hints as to what needs to be done to solve the puzzle that is AV no?

Each video has a piece of the secrets involved... read what i just posted above and maybe you can see a connection... everything up there is what I was able to put in place.

That, however, is not my conclusion, they are just steps to help you where you need to be at, and I thank courtney for steering me in the right direction. I will admit I was looking at AV wrong, but now I am building a new theory

Mind sending me a PM with that theory? You have me and a couple of other FFXI players here at my job discussing this avidly now LOL.

Mind sending me a PM with that theory? You have me and a couple of other FFXI players here at my job discussing this avidly now LOL.

I am sorry, but I will not post or provide my thoery until I have worked it out. Also it will be posted on this thread for all to view. I find it only fair.

Understandable ^^

My theory is that you need enough people to have a continuous stream of people running from their home point to AV solo-attacking it (without its regen on) and home-pointing once they die.

Make sure everyone has a capped buffer, you might want to have people with multiple jobs that they can switch to once their main gets below about lvl 72.

Open the fight with an alliance of 18 dragoons.
As the dragoons die, so will their wyverns, and so will one of the wynavs. Just replace the drgs with the normal pt setup as you go. AV will spawn a total of 18 wynavs before stopping.
The only reason there's one in the video is to throw you off.
