Incoming nerf to souleater. Since SE nerfs us every time we kill AV without using their magic strategy.

They're selling the sash and the mars ring.

Fucking greedy idiots

Buys more Kclubs to kill more AVs

Apathy just took him down also

Also that 1st shell from earlier tonight killed it again when 2 hours were up HAHA pwned

Now... whats interesting about this video is the fact that the red bands actually do appear on his arm during the fight which i understood was him getting "locked" to where he is no longer able to use 2hrs. I dont know if this is just too obvious or what but i have an interesting question... has anyone ever tried the idea that noone in the alliance can have their 2hr up during the fight and that is how it is locked... I mean that could explain why in the video they all tend to use their 2hrs at the same time, because they tried to keep them all together so it would only do stuff every 2hrs when their 2hrs reset. So maybe the video isnt really saying save your 2hrs so that you can counteract AV's but it is actually saying burn your 2hrs whenever you notice that they are up.

Now in this fight because they were going for a kraken dark zerg it is very possible that everyone in that alliance had burned their 2hr which would account for the lock.

Interesting. I wonder how a standard "zerg" strategy from buffed melees (no Kclub) alla Dynamis Lord/kirin would work, if combined with a bunch of mages "zerging" like a 2-3 rdm chainspelling blizzard. Reports say AMII will do 2% for 600ish. Another report says nuking the element of the day reduces its DEF and extends the interval between 2H to 2 minutes.

The "bands" are him entering Bracers mode, where he has even more chances to kill the face off you. They locked him the same way you can lock BV2, killing him too fast so he locks himself up talking shit at each HP%

Awesome... AV went from god to chump.

Awesome... AV went from god to chump.

He didn't even have his 2+ years of long fights like Kirin.:spiteful: Just 2 hrs of unbeatable-ness

I still don't think thats the way he was supposed to be beaten.... but good on them and the rest of FFXI for finally doing it!

So, no GM popping up and saying congrats? Or how about the other GM who wouuld say "You didnt do it right QQ jail!!!!!!"

Fucking awesome drops... W'ant.

This time they weren't using a glitch, or some strange game mechanic against him, they just beat him down before he could even think. If the dev's do something about this type of kill, then they obviously don't want us to actually kill him.

I applaud the kills but I dont agree with the method... If this method continues like this, I can see SE putting AV back the way he was. But this is SE and you never know, they just may leave him that vulnerable.

I can see the headline now:
"MMO Developer Announces Return of 18 Hour Death Monster"

They should give him a move similar to that of Odin, if you don't /kneel to him (or /heal) at the right moment it's an instant KO, maybe even make him use it multiple times at different HP%, that way this would still work, but involve slightly more strategy than auto-attack. To be honest how many LSes across all servers are capable of killing him this way anyway if the majority of people playing this game want a shot at him they still need to find his "weakness".

You can count on one hand the number of linkshells in the entire game who can pull off this kind of kill. Right now, this is the only way to kill him, period, especially with him depopping 2 hours after JoL is popped.

We've now proved he can in fact die, now we just need to figure out other ways to do it, so that the rest of us can have some items too.
