I'm looking for a Wizard's Mantle for my RDM/BLM. According to multiple sources, it's a Rare (not EX) level 30 armor for the back slot which should be available on the AH.

However, after checking multiple times at the AH in Jeuno, I cannot even find this piece listed. It's not that I don't see one in stock to bid on, but the entry for this item doesn't even exist! Several of the other level 30 subjob-related mantles are there, but this one isn't listed (along with a couple others that should be, like the "Killer Mantle").

Has anyone secured this item for themselves before, or can anyone verify that it does exist in the AH or that it is actually EX after all? Also, does anyone have any idea what the drop rate for this item might be like on the BCNM30 - Dropping Like Flies? Any assistant would be greatly appreciated.
 
It is not ex but its never been put on AH so no list for it will ever be there

I think your best bet would be to do the BCNM yourself. I have no idea how hard it is, but I see theres 9 flies in it >.> But it also drops emperor hairpin. Maybe the drop rate just sucks because I'm sure people do the bcnm for hairpin ;x
 
Hold the phone on the "Captain Obvious" bit -- do you mean something will never appear listed on the AH if it's never been placed for auction? O_O I just assumed it would automatically be listed, albeit with a blank bid history, once the item was first introduced in the related update patch. But if that's the case, then I'm still surprised it hasn't appeared because of the popularity of the hairpin drop.

I can probably get a group to help me pull off the BCNM if I fund my own seals. Unfortunately, the most recommended option for pulling it off seems to involve at least half the party using their 2-hours, so repeats of this will be few and far between.

WAR/DRG body was not on the list till it was first put up around 7 months after it was able to be made
assalt armour thing lv 75 only 1 ever been on AH the guy put it on AH to show it exists
Also with some gear its not on like some HQ JSE etc is not on there as never been made etc
Some items are on there but have no price of sale as the server reset and all AH prices got wiped once.

Check windy AH, ALOT of things aren't listed.
 
And even if you try to put something on AH in windy that's not on the list it won't let you. I've tried >.>

The bcnm was added in the same update that added the PCC bcnm. I think everyone rushed to get a pcc and “Dropping Like Flies” took second booking.

I don’t think you have to have a specific set-up to win this… I just think it’s been done so few times they don’t know what else works.

I really wanted to try this out with an all bst set-up but interest was minimal so it fell threw. Like a chump I went in solo just to see if the flies were charm’able. (was a few months after the update) Definitely not charmable but the lesser flies hit like babies. It took longer than anticipated to die with 8 beating on me
 
Way too much time on my hands, and probably more information than you wanted, but here's what the other servers have asked for the mantle. Looks like not many do this bcnm across all servers.

Wizard's Mantle

Alexander: 10 mil only 1 sale
Caitsith: 150,00 only 2 sales
Carbucle: 4mil first sale. 2mil next two sales.
Fenrir: 100 - 200k total 10 sales
Hades: 30k one sale
Lackshmi: 300k one sale
Pande: usually 500 -600 k one sold at a mil. 6 total sales
Pheonix: 80 - 100k two sales
Ragnarok: 300-500k three sales
Ramuh: First sale 9mil second sale 1mil. Only two sales
Valfor: between 150 - 300k ten total sales

The rest of the servers had no listings. They could have all been muled though… or sold in other nations other than jeuno.
 
Wow, that's very informative! I guess it's more believable that it hasn't been sold, then.

I think part of the lacking appeal for the BCNM is the difficulty level without the PLD-SMN 2-hour setup. Against 9 enemies where Blizzaga and Sleepga aren't options and the flies are resistant to Horde Lullabye and apparantly Charm, the remaining options are few and far between.
 
Personally, looking at the options for *getting* such a thing, I'd just say screw it and wait until level 60 for that hMP +1 (regardless of sub), plus a few diddly other stats, cape from 10,000 Ilrusi Atoll assault points ("Invigorating Cape"). hMP is nice and all, but so is practicality about how attainable certain gear is.
 
Question! If it has neversold, so does not show on AH, why does the AH have items with "No Auction House History" ?
 
Something is listed on the AH forever, once it's been put up for sale. Something has *history*, if someone actually buys it. An item can be on the AH without history if it gets voluntarily taken down, or if it gets returned with no successful sales.

I've heard that Nightmare works. Haven't tested yet myself though.
