The new X-Files movie is coming, so here's a thread.

I remember the TV series being something I would watch "when I had nothing better to do." I actually began to like it a bit after a while. Not exactly a huge fan, but I thought it was pretty cool.

They've been highly secretive about the movie's plot. All that's really known is that it takes place six years after the series finale. Mulder and Scully return for one final hurrah. If you can call it that...

It also will apparently not be focusing on the TV series' standard "mythology" (monsters of the week), and instead be more of a thriller. This could be good or bad, in my opinion. If you ask me, though, X-Files is rarely a letdown.

It should be something worth seeing, for sure.

Linkage.

I want to believe....that this will be a good movie.

The series was good until the 4th season, then it just plummeted. Also, the sad excuse for a movie "X-Files: Fight the Future" left a bitter taste in many an X-Philes' mouth. I honestly felt they should have stuck with the 'monster of the week'.

Hmm, I liked the last X-Files movie. But then, that movie came out when X-Files was still fairly popular and the series was decent.

I loved X-Files, used to watch it all the time, but I kinda stopped watching it when they pretty much took Mulder off of the main character list and replaced him with that dude from Terminator 2. >_> Forgot his name and I definately didn't know his character's name.

I'll probably go and see this for old times sake, but I feel like this movie is several years too late in the making.

This movie will be like TITANIC, it will sink fast. I hope it's a good one, but I think it's like 10 years too late.

I am still a huge X-file fan, my woman has become one also. I have each season on DVD, sadly even the bad ones... I enjoyed the first movie, it was not great but meh take what ya get lol. This one may be odd... The way the last 2-3 seasons just turned into BS love story crap i wouldnt be suprised if the movie did the same thing... I believe i even was reading they are hyping some make out scene from Scully and Mulder... Sounds like season 8-9 all over again... Please no thanks...

I agree.. after a point the X-Files went down hill.. it ones one of those series that is completely awesome but went on way too long because of ratings when it should have ended on a high note :| I do hope it'll be a good movie though :3

Some of the Mystery Science Theater 3000 folks are set to riff on the first movie over at Rifftrax in the next few days. Let their mockery wash over you and make you feel better about it.

I <3 MST3K :D needs more to come out on DVD!

I haven't seen the X-Files movie since uh...99 maybe. I'm not sure if I could stomach the horror, as much as I love MST3K.
