So yeah, I've fought Regular Khim and, not so bad with elegy and slow... And stunning fulmination....

So WTF am I supposed to do against tyger? Wiki has little info to counteract this gigantic problem (At least from the way it sounds , its gonna suck) Summoner still best DD on it? Mostly mage damage? Stun only fulm (kinda obvious) straight tank with pld/nin X.. probably 3ish?

I know slow/elegy just doesn't work, is he slower?

Any info would really help, since my LS is about to have 5+ pops and I don't want to waste a single one for my people. Thank you.

He doesn't attack as fast as the regular khim nor does he double or triple attack as often, smns are good too, melee should only go in for ws's, and blms should MB and stun.

We used a pld/nin and a nin/drk tank which worked fine with SATAs.

Another thing is the Tanks should be positioned in this small little cliff and then the mages and melee should stand on the bigger hill above another cliff so they don't get hit by AoE's.

nin/drk tanks? one of the main sources of hate for nin/drk is stun. does this version not gain stun resistance or were they just spammming everything else that they could?

Wiki says that it gains resistance but I saw no sign of that, our Nin/drk stunned effectively throughout the fight and he stunned more then just fulmination.

Nin/drk uses stun for hate yes, but it cycles through multiple spells.

I had one stun resisted so far in all the times we've fought him. After the resist, I didn't have another resist the rest of the battle. So I'm going to go with any resisted stuns are just a side effect of Tyger's natural resistance to lightning.

Can't really count out increasing resist rate from that.

If its resist rate increases it doesn't mean it'll resist everytime after that. Just will have a slightly higher chance of resisting.

Since the real khimaira starts to resist, and even the ZNM cerb does, I'm inclined to believe the ZNM khim does too.

thanks for the replies! Sounds like it will suck but not so badly lol.

I took Olrox's original post to mean that stunning fulmination would become a huge problem the longer the fight dragged on since he mentioned his info was from wiki:

Wiki said:
It does build a resistance to stun. After recovering from a partial wipe our first try, we zombied it until unweakened and had BLMs stunning only Fulmination in pairs. Stun resist rate was close to 100%. This resistance may be due to either time, amount of stuns cast, or allowing it to regen to 100%.

I can accept not discounting any resist rate, but I would not say it's something you need to worry about unless you have to zombie it, let it regen to 100%, and drag the fight on past two hours.

Oh don't get us wrong, this fight can definitely suck, especially if your mages aren't waiting to fire off their macros. A mispositioned tyger along with letting a fulmination get through could easily cause some problems. Just make sure you use the terrain to your advantage so the mages and non-engaged melee can stay away from a rouge fulmination.

Yea, the stun resists didn't seem to be a problem on this one. I think it was an actual resist.

Best advice I can give deals with if things go crazy. Don't panic if your tanks wipe...you'll want to drop the tank party first from your alliance, then drop the remaining members from their respective parties. Once this is done, you can zombie it fairly easily. Unlike the normal HNMs, this one can't be stolen, so you can take your time.

Idk if this was said but im 95% sure even if stun gets resisted it will produce the same hate, i tanked hydra nin/drk and had plenty hate landing maybe 10%of the stuns.

All hail pld tanks!!!!!! nin/drk is ok but it's kinda risky lol, i remember one time i was nin/drk at ouryu and we kited it around the bush... Well, as we all know, bind is a good enmity tool.. not great, but it's deffinetly in the spell rotation, and i made it flail lol... i wasn't aloud to cast bind after that -_-;

I mean seriously, how often does bind stick on high lvl mobs with a sj spell <.<

Ninja edit!; i havent been on game in a while... and havent gotten the chance to see/fight any of these new higher tier ZNMs, just the armed gears once i think and that wasn't too bad. Is it fun? ;o In a degree of difficulty how do they compare to the normal version NM?

Tinnin is pretty easy as it starts out at 50% when you pop it. It starts with one head, and then grows the 2 extra during the fight, giving it 25% health regen for each head. If you have the right setup its easier than the normal hydra HNM. Tyger is definitely easier than the normal Khimaira HNM and Sarameya I'd go out on a limb and say is just as hard as Cerberus. Its nothing like wtfpwnage but out of the three tier 4's, its definitely the more difficult.

ZNMs are definitely fun and a fresh change of pace. Like it was pointed out earlier in the thread, when you do Tier 4's, the "battlefield" or more appropriately put, the "private island" locks down and no one else can get inside while your pop is up. You can safely recover if anything bad happens and you don't have to worry about theft.

Oh, i really like that idea. The private island, thats full of win! Normal hydra is a wimp anyways ;p, we used to do it with 6 for monies. We only claimed/killed khim once and we didn't wipe or anything for our first try so i guss it wasn't too bad! Cerb sounds like fun though, i'd like to try my new fire resist set eventually on that. Recently upgraded it significantly, i think i'm at like +168 without buffs? seems right but i can't log on to check lol.

I know that already. I was referring to the fulmation when i was mentioning stun resistance. making it resistant to the most important spell for staying alive would have just been retarded so i had to ask if the wiki was wrong and it didnt develop resistance.

Yeah. Jamal and I had it fine as PLD/NIN & NIN/DRK. Every one of his WS's in stunnable, although I'd recommend only stunning Fulm as you say, unless you have a surplus of stunners.

PLD/NIN and NIN/DRK is just a great combo though.

You could probably do the ZNM Hydra Tinnin with 6 as well.

Also do the bards need elemental seal to land elegy on Tyger?

from what i understand its 100% immune even with ele seal.
