so i was in this 25-27 pt with this Rank one Taru Red mage. I must say he was a complete n00b that had no clue what he was doing. But thats not what made me laugh. What made me laugh was the fact that he had incredible gear. He had full Barons gear, a mist silk cape and some other really high quality gear. Everyone in the pt started to get suspicious of him, well really not suspicious since he obviously appeared as a gil buyer. I asked him something like "Hey, dude, whats your farming secret dude? XD where do you get your gil? i love your armor." To which he replied...."Oh man, im a really good farmer, i farm silk thread in Windurst. Im really skilled."

Now what the hell lol. I dont know the exact price of his gear, but i think it is in the hundreds of thousands (Million? idk). I doubt anyone cares about this, but i thought it was so damn funny "I farm Silk threads". idk. If youve partied with this kid, state your opinion...or something. Or tell me to Stf up.
 
I partied with him on my samurai in Valkurm Dunes. We told him he had to be main healer. His cure 1 at level 17 healed for 25. I told him to shut up a few times, and he threatened to kick me from his PT with the powerleveler. So I left the PT, started my own, and and we were getting Chain 5's instead of Chain 2's and then stopping.

I might have a screen shot somewhere of his ignorance.
 
It isn't beyond the realm of possibility.

I mean a stack of silk went for 10k last i check...might go for even more now. So your only looking at 10 stacks and then you have 100k+. Besides which they are lvl 4-5 mobs and he could also have killed the low lvl crawler NM that drops a 50k item i think.

Yes he probably is a gilbuyer, but it makes more sense than "i farm teh rabbits!".

Whoa... I wish silk was still 10k ><

Silk thread stack are about 25k avg nowadays. The Mist Silk Cape dropped by Spiny Spipi is about 80k I believe.

If he had full Baron's Gear and Mist Silk Cape... that's about 750k or so(maint time so don't have access to AH >_>) plus Silk Cape(another 80k)... so let's say he had about 900k in gear.

Honestly, I doubt he got all that money from farming silk threads. On a friend's 67thf(TH2) in Rolanberry(much higher drop rate than Saruta) I only got about 1-1.5 stack/hour... but I have pretty back lucky so other people may get more. So he'd have to farm 40+ hours for that gear, most likey much more if he's doing it in Saruta with no TH2 and less Crawlers around.

Not completely undoable.... but definitely suspicious.
 
The most you can realistically make farming silk, with TH1, is 25k, maybe more probably less.

I did buy my sniper from farming silk, and a couple other things, and it only took a week or two. Not sure how many hours, but quite a few.

I plan on getting most of my gear from farming these low lvl mobs, that have decent drops. It is easy, and costs nothing to do. It might take longer than camping NMs, and doing BCNMs, but it might not...

He could just be someone who decided that he won't party without having the best gear possible, and completely forgot to learn anything about his job, possibly becuase he thinks his gear will compensate for his lack of skill.

Then again, he might very well be a gill buyer. :lol:

Im not "Complaining" I just thought it was really funny and kinda worth pointing out. I could care less what gear he had on. In fact, im glad he had the gear on, cause he was in my party lol.

But another funny thing he said, after i accused him of buying gil was,
"Dude george, look at you you have a full stack of rolanberry pies, those are very expensive pies, you must be a gil buyer."

In Bubu I can make 200k in about 6 hours.
 
You are completely right, this guy is the biggest idiot whm I think I have ever party'd with.

I was with him in the dunes not long ago leveling dark knight. I join the party, we are killing pugs. I show up as the other 5 members had just finished killing a pull and the tank and other people are short on hp. I stand there and watch this guy use cure 1 literally about 20 times to cure everyone back up (tank was at least 200+ from max hp). So I ask, 'you ever use cure 2?' He says 'only when I need to.'

He goes on to explain that he is 'conserving mp' between fights by using cure 1, I mention that he could cure 2 and then rest, then having more time to recover mp but he is too stubborn.

So after a short time and a couple slow kills, one of our blm leaves. Now this guy obviously is creating a lot of downtime with his strategy and the only job looking is a bard, so I think perfect lets get the bard he can help with peaon and extra healing not to mention att/acc bonus. I suggest we grab the bard and the guy says 'no I hate bards.' > um why? > I refuse to pt with a bard before level 25.

Anyway a few of us sent tells to the bard to come anyway, and we basically forced him into inviting the bard, mostly because not a single other person was looking for pt. You can guess what happens, we get a few aqua ball AoE attacks from pugs. Bard uses peaon 1 + peaon 2, yet Theannilihator (i was subtly ripping his name the whole time) insists on cure 1-ing everyone their last sliver of hp to full even with 2x peaon running and when he had practically no mp. If you can't tell this guy was pissing me off.

Then to top it off he says, i gotta go afk 1 min - soooooo after about 10-15 minutes of killing tough crabs we start trying to reform the pt. Takes forever and we finally get reformed with me leading, and the guy comes back, by now it had been 20+ minutes. Unfortunately the other whm looking was afk, so i took him back and he immediately demands leader back, i simply say sorry nope.

A melee leaves the party and he jumps in saying we need blm, there are and have been none anywhere close to our level anywhere in the world for over half an hour (i had been looking). Anyway, only job looking is drg so i invite him. Guy gets pissed saying all drgs suck and he never wants to pt with them. At this point I am just laughing at the guy, anyway eventually the guy abruptly leaves saying only 'sorry got to go' > disband. I was so stoked, we got a good whm and started chaining great.

Sorry for the long-ass story, don't really know where I was going with it except that, yes i agree this guy sucks and was probly the most idiotic person I have ever pt'd with.
 
Well while i'm not saying he was good at least he didnt insist on only using cure II because it heals more HP...that i think is my biggest pet peev in the dunes.

Anyway...to sumarise he is a gil seller, bad at his job and generally kinda of an ass. Got it.
