TheFlock vs. Jormy

Awwwwwwwwwwwww! Why couldn't we have done that when I played!!! :(

Congrats guys. I've always wanted to kill him.

Grats guys, what was the break down of number of people and # of smns vs # of BST? And for the fight did you just leave the smns in and rotate BSTs as their pets died?

Around 30 people. Rotated SMN based on MP and rotated BST based on Call Beast recast. It was fairly smooth for having no central hate holder.

one other BIG thing i missed mainly b/c of RL issues, but damn good job shell.

ok... never thought I'd say this... but I'm envious of a BST

good job guys

Congrats guys knew you could do it. I had fun on vacation though! <3 my cousins!

That's really somethin. Another cool victory for The Flock to add to many. Congratulations guys.

I missed it too, I wasn't feeling too well so I logged off early to sleep =(

And surprising it only took like 15 minutes longer than a Kirin.

All I can say is great job. I hoope your next post shows theflock pawning another hnm. Keep us posted.

This was my first run with TheFlock, first attempt at Jormy and it was an extremely fun fight! Personal thanks to Honcho for being so cool and Jaye for joining in; it was great fun and I'm glad I could be a part of it

Wow, definitely surprised, in a good way.

Great job folks!

Made a video for the fight. For the most part the fight went really smooth. The video has some of our bad moments. One when he got turned around the wrong way and clips of the spike flails. One we almost wiped but were able to get back up and going.

Basically, 2 parties of 11 BST +1 SMN or BST, whichever was available and one party of 1 BRD and 5 SMN's, rotating SMN's in and out of that party as mp dictated. Having a BRD was great more for the quick substitutions and party invites than anything else. We also rotated the other 2 parties as call beast timer was needed. We are all pretty new to wyrms, we knew what we didn't want to do and I think we all learned alot during the fight and really got in a groove for it about 75% in. I think I had the highest death count with 6 deaths total, mostly because moving in to bloodpact was brutal on my frail SMN body, lol.

It was a great job and a ridiculous amount of fun, extremely proud of everyone that came out.

Thats f'ing awesome. Last time I had a chance to try this dragon was a long time ago when I was in NH. Not an easy thing to take down. Very good job guys. Guess I gotta get my lazy ass out to take SMN to 75, lol.

Very nice accomplishment from a good group of peeps. Congrats and keep up the good times.

Peace,
Shmed

impressive win! congratulations.

it would be even more impressive with less SMN, since 6-8 SMN makes damage pretty efficient and quick.

how long did the kill take? :D

well, you have to understand, alot of us have no wyrm experience at all, most of us didn't even know what avatar to use until about 3/4 of the way into the fight. The SMN's were awesome DD and really helped to speed thing along, especially with a natural drought of charmable pets in the vicinity. When we had both SMN and BST's with natural pets at the start, we probably peeled off the first 25% of hp in about 8-10 minutes. No doubt without the SMN spike damage it would take a long long time to kill him considering the multiple blood weapons and all, but I certainly wouldn't rule out that it is possible.

The fight, all told, took an hour and 15 minutes. Not breaking any records by any means and I know alot of people are probably like "big deal", but I think for alot of people who get discouraged with the endgame scenario for BST or a little bitter from being used and abused as SMN might get a kick out of this. We really feel Tiamat would be a easier wyrm for our shell, but the huge competition over him has us fairly weary to throw our hats into the arena. The prospect of losing claim at a low percent or having viable pets slaughtered I think makes it a situation best for us to avoid for now. I think we will continue to cut our teeth on lonely old Jormy for the time being until his big bad uncle Vrtra calls us out.

We also had our platoon of 4 White Mages in the 2nd alliance, one THF TH4 whore that spent most of the fight AFK (kidding, Demon!), and one mascot BST53. (Uh, me.) The WHMs were essential to getting some of those suicidal SMNs up and running again.

Was a lot of fun, and I'm glad someone as noob as me got to be a part of it.
