Yes; i know when u see the title you prolly think all you need is assassins armlets and thf knife and you are good to go, but i was wondering what most thiefs use for end game gear or what would the best thing to get. My thief will be 75 soon and was wondering what would be best use for tp; weapon skills; etc. Discuss!

Gear that looks cool, since you'll be standing around until the last 5% of the mob's HP.

Except when you're closing Light so the Mages can MB.

DEX/AGI and ACC build for HNMs

Unless you have Mandau, in that case go all-out STR ftw? xD 60%_STR mod ftw!

Strictly endgame speaking, any shell who doesn't use a (good) THF or so for damage is unintelligent.

For most major HNMs and gods, you may want to stick to fairly large acc builds for TP gain, and just some pieces of hecatomb and such for WS (mainly DEX and attack will yield good results). Meat will improve your WS damage drastically on important stuff, but your acc may suffer if you lack merits/acc gear. Also, /war or /drk is your friend.

in addition to what nec said.

i run SA gear, TA gear and tp/haste gear along with solo setups...

haste is an invisable stat for thf imo though.. since dag are already very quick at tp gain.(so many ppl like it tho)

dex is still your best strat endgame for ws/sa dmg so remember to stack that for dancing edge or sb

Because you cant SA Wyrms from the front, may as well Boost Trick attack Damage thanks to assasin.

or you could SA Shark Bite fafnir. I'm sure your alliance would love you doing that.

aren't most THF WSs modified the most by DEX?
All endgame WS except mercy stroke are.

Even if you TAWS, point-for-point, DEX will benefit you more with SB.

i was mainly wondering what gear. Like for head i use opt hat and ws with voyagers sallet; neck i plan on using love torque and i have pcc also(not sure which is better); earring i have triumph earrings (maybe should get dex earrings?); rings i use rajas and acc + ring; body i use assault jerkin (would dragon harness be best overall or homan maybe?); hands right now i use the rse hume gloves (not sure what else to use here?); back i use amemet +1 also have commanders cape(would foragers mantle be a better use here?); and any opinions on leg and feet gears? Also i was thinking to main harpe and sub stylet would this work; or something better off?

I'd imagine you'd want as much Neptunal gear as you can get for weapon skills, since that stuff's just sick with all the +str and +dex.

Pretty much turning into an Allakhazam "rate my gearz" thread here. If you have the money for Stylet and Harpe, I'd sell those and invest in a Blau. Commander's cape is crap compared to amemet +1, sell it. Dusk/war+1/heca are good situational hand pieces... can't go wrong with DH/homam body(or rapparee if you don't have homam body). Love torque would be prime for TP and WS.

I'll bet you 1 mil that you can SA a wyrm from the front.

Any takers?

And I'm sure you can cast Bind on a worm, same effect, no?

you can with hide provided you are not on the hate table already (ie, first strike or only done TA prior to the point of the SA+Hide).

Having Samurai sub will be very useful for fights that take more than say 20min. Typically it is too dangerous to have melee of any sort, but espeacially thf, TP off of mobs that require much more time than that to kill. For this reason, Acc gear isn't all that important for endgame fights when it comes to thf. Hitting for 1-10 damage per strike isn't worth the... what is it? 7TP we give in return. Even in fights that I am in for the whole duration... I typically only hit during SA or TA (SA never paired with WS, and only used when hate is stable...)

most of the equipment any job would want for endgame fights comes from endgame... so while there is some stuff you can buy, you will need to be participating to get most of what you would need.

Being an equipment whore, i have a full AGI set for TAs that are not paired with WS, a full dex set for SAs without WS, and a STR/ATK/DEX set for WS. Acc is ok for fights you can afford to TP on the mob for, but as i mentioned before it is generally preferable to obtain TP from an alternative source (local mobs/sleep pots/meditate), and even during those fights its often benificial to ballance acc with atk and str so you hit for more than 0-10 :(.

If you want a spesific list... I'll come up with one for you, just send me a PM =] But i think you should be able to get an idea based on what people have said by using somepages equipment search function ^^

Edit for an addition: There will never be a "best piece over all" as you asked (in reference to Homam body vs. D.Harness). It is important to maximize everything you do in any fight, but espeacially end game... and you cannot do that without having situational gear. To be fully equiped as a THF, you will have 3-8 pieices of equipment per slot (9 pieces for rings... but that is 2 slots '-'; ) Some of these pieces you will only rarely use (like steal + equipment [dynamis]), but you wwill still want them for some situations... others are staples (at least 3-4 per slot for functionality in fighting I'd say).

Which was my point :p if you have 100% TP or more, you can SA + TA + hide and do it on the tank. You can do this for however long you want, as long as you don't attack outside TA. If you do get a few hits in without TA up, all you have to do is /logout for a while and log back in again to be gone from the hate table of the wyrm.

People say Suzaku is immune to Bind, but I've bound him several times. Besides the point though ;p
