Yes i know THF steal from maat to win the BC usually..............but I want to solo Maat and not just steal

I'm 66 atm and im trying to cap Markmanship, and Evasion I'm planing on bringing some useful potions ( i need soem suggestions ) using bloody bolts , using Scorp Harness , and hopefully ill get OPT hat soon I only have one eye >_> i'll use all the AGI gear i can get ( 2 AGI = 1 EVA :D)
and since im taru we have pretty nice AGI and im not going to try till im 70

Of coarse...........everyone who i told / asked about told me thf have no chance in hell :roll:
any "Helpful" suggestions ? thx

Onions did this, talk to him about it, he said it wasn't really so hard.

Evasion Torque (Peacock Charm Macroed in for Dancing Edge only) Opo-Opo Necklace (At Start)
Elusive Earring
Elusive Earring

Scorpion Harness +1
Rogue's Armlets
Celerity Ring x2 (Scorpion Rings x2 used at start to lower hit stats.)

Amemet Mantle +1
Survival Belt (Life Belt Macroed in for Dancing edge only)
Rogue's Culotte
Marine F Boots

Items: (Used = [x] unused = [_] )
[x] Vile Elixir +1
[x] Hi-Potion x 12
[_] Hi-Potion x 6
[_] Icarus Wing
[x] Squid Sushi +1
[_] Persikos au Lait
[x] Sleeping Potions x 4

1) Went in, put on my Opo-Opo Necklace, crossbow, and dagger, and drank 4 Sleeping Potions to get 100 TP, then put on my armor.

2) Ran in, got behind him, and Dancing Edged his ass. I was gonna use my Icarus wing here but I thought the 'Medicated' Status would prevent me form using my Vile Elixir +1. It does not...

3) Fought a little bit, got my ass handed to me for a while. Drank potions, stayed calm, got to about 150HP and drank the Vile Elixir +1(Activation time is SUPER FAST) and got to full health again.(Roughly)

4) He uses a Hand-to-Hand Weapon Skill at some point. I returned the sentiment with a dancing edge, was going to use my Icarus wing and hit him again but:

5) at about 50-60% health, he used Perfect dodge. I camped out and pelted him with Bloody Bolts. Out of the 15 or so bolts that went flying one hit for a draw of about 72HP.

6) Right when I got 100 TP again, he gave up on me, when he was at about 25% health.

Do's and Don'ts:
Don't use X-Potions!!! You can practically use 3 Hi-Potions in the time it takes you to use 1 X-Potion. (300 HP, or 150 HP)
Don't panic.
Don't worry about Bloody Bolts, even with awesome Ranged Accuracy gear, you won't be hitting enough to do damage, and you will be wasting those slots that could be used for evasion gear. Besides... Hi-Potions are quicker than Bloody Bolts... And the time would be better spent on swinging your dagger.
When he uses Perfect Dodge, you can still use Ranged attacks.
Don't bring your Sniper rings, -20 Defense will hurt you a lot.

Get Neked, and wear a Pair or Scorpion Rings*(Accuracy-7, Ranged Accuracy +7)
Hop in,
Put on all your Armor
Sleep your way to 100 TP,
Charge SA,
Hit him with a Dancing Edge,
Pound your Icarus Wing Macro,
Hit him with Dancing Edge Again.

Attack until you are orange health.
Use the Vile Elixir,
Keep yourself in the white untill he uses his Weaponskill.
Relax and drink Hi-Potions till he gives up.

It's just a Potion Drinking Contest...

*There is a rumor, that seems to be pretty accurate, that Maat's Stats are based on your stats entering the fight. So if you going in with 2 Scorpion rings would basically give him a -14 Accuracy Handycap, also, you go in at 66, Maat is going in at 66 too.

And...
One of the funniest things I have seen in this game:

Maat readies Asuran Fists.
Maat uses Asuran Fists but misses Phraust.

Bring more potions than you think you need, Pack em into every crevace of your being.

I forgot to mention: I forgot to steal, and I forgot to use Perfect Dodge...
 
i got lucky and stole on my second time around. The first time that i went in i stole then melee fought him to half health without any potions or anything.

so im guessing it should not be too hard biggy. just listen to what Phraust said and everything be easy haha
 
I went in at 68 with all the evasion gear I could afford. He still hit me with over 80 percent accuracy, so if I were to try to solo him again, I might go straight defense like I do when farming. He was hitting me for about 110 each time, so all my plans of soloing went out the window the first time. He got me red, activated my steal latents, and that was that.
 
Peregine, Did you talk to Maat Neked and go into the fight Neked?
Cause for my first time me I didn't believe the "Go in with lower stats" Theory, and went in with +47 accuracy and a bit of attack and got my ass handed to me, garnished with my pride, and a side order of wtf.

The last two times I went in, it was like watching two blind drunks fight in a parking lot.
 
So about how much HP does Maat have?
 
I wish i had PC version and fraps the 3rd time i went in.

Stole. died. reraised. Waited on steal.

At this point i walked up to him 2hr and tried steal. I Failed and he Asurans me 7 time missing the 1st 6 and killing me on the 7th when dodge wore. I was hilarious did nothing but spam Asuran ^^
 
TYVM for that guide Phraust ill need to save some more gil to finish buying equip but i think its worth it, thx for the responses ^^
 
Thread Hi-jacking!! :twisted:

I'm sure I've seen a vid of a BRD dying against Maat, reraising and watching him go to his doom with the Poison Song version 5.0. Does anyone know of this "strategy" for G5 BRD?
 
You might want to bring some sleep bolts with, and use those. Sleep Maat, then move behind him and SA

If you try this, though, make sure you don't use any Poison-type abilities on him (so no Wasp Sting or Viper Bite).
 
Can I ask what steal does for you in this fight? You all seem to hold it in a pretty high regard.

I went in full strength. There might be truth to him matching you levelwise and statwise, but I've never heard that before. He missed quite a bit after I went yellow, but that again may have been due to the latents activating on my gear. I was wearing every rogue's specialty piece I could think of. Unfortunately I hit for 20-something every time. He hit for 100-something. Before I stole I only got him down to 75 percent or so with no use of potions or any of my items I had planned on using >.<

I have heard that he's insanely hard to sleep though.
 
It's damn easy. I did it at 70. I just wore my SH, Snipers, Dodge earrings, Hoplites, blah, blah, my EVA was capped at 70, nothing special. Started out (after opo TP) SA solo, then DE > Icarus > DE for SC. Then built TP with dagger, i might have used bolts i cant remember been a while) when i got to yellow i used 2 hour and potions but by the time my 2 hour wore i had enough to DE again and that finished him off.

Oh and I went in naked.

Actually i think the record is like 10 seconds lmao...guy ran in went behind maat and use steal. lucky bastard lol.
