I know this isnt technically a big deal but I still had fun doing it.
This morning I set out to pop my lantern I got last night. Since I wasn't going to be on thf for the byakko fights I decided to go pop it in the morning.
I got my mule to grab a set of the 4 main bolts and setn them over.
I discovered sozu was definetly an evasive bastard and swapped to my acc setup for exp mobs thanks to his evasion vs my bolts(snipers for the raac). Sozzie used PD much earlier than expected and I kited/slept him for a bit wiating on it to wear.
I Used a str+ and haste setup to start since I reasoned acc and atk shold be capped vs an ep mob. Considering I still had a bison steak active from sky earlier I knew the Atk would be capped.
Somewhere along that fight I accidentaly hit PD and hoped it wouldn't bite me in the ass as I was saving that for when I got throat slashed.
Eventually near the final part Sozzie use the dreaded throat slash which I still can't react to or get the trick to avioding it down yet fast enough leaving me with 34 hp and no shadows. I quickly put ni up and tried to bloody bolt some life back.
Since that wasnt going too fast as far as hp regen went(he's a good thf. go figure) I decided to just use the TP I'd been storing up for the killshot. Tonbery and almost everything loves to bring out thier worst tp moves near the end and with tonberry ones being much worse I decided to zerg the final bit of life out of it ahead of time. . I popped feint and used an acid bolt before using Dancing Edge to take the rest of its life to get... A tonberry coat! Oh and a Knife dropped too...
After that I noticed there wasn't a bunch of lv 50 ninjas and samurai all rank 1 from sandy ect in a massive alliance in necrophlillia land aka Blackmagik's playground.
I did the usual junk where I asked random people stopping through to give me any papyrus if it drops since noone that can help me tends to be online when I'm on the mule. I'd like to thank those that helped out and tried to get my bard a papyrus despite not knowing me at all or knowing it was me.

Now all my brd has to do is go do assaults for some earrings plus ome af and i'm set till lv 60+
I also went 3/3 on the Oz coffer key at random on my thf the day of the update.... of course my brd was the one that needed it so SE must have made papyrus drop to makeup for that.

GO DO YOUR OWN IF YOU WANT BETTER PROOF SINCE I"VE NOT SIFTED THROUGH ALL MY PARSES FOR ANY RESULTS WITHOUT THE KNIFE YET MAKING THIS ALL FROM MEMORY FROM DOING A SHITLOAD OF FARMING AND USING THE PARSES AS REFERENCES FOR KNOWING WHEN IM JUST HAVING A SHITTY TIME FARMING AND SHOULD LEAVE.
Yeah the caps lock was annoying buy I'm making sure People don't forget this is nothing more than heresay until I have a hard copy to compare it to.
I also did a short parse on my thf knife which just finished now that in got my little stack.
tested on a monster that has the following drop rates for me when I farmed on th2. I farmed these ALOT before the knife and parsed drop rate out of curiousity on them before so these numbers are from memory but somewhat accurate. All farmin sessions were based on obtaining a stack of item C before leaving unless I got really bored or sky/dynamis started so they were all reasonably long.
Item A:
dropped 50% of the time. the highest variance at the end of a farming session was 0.4% They have a habit of dropping exactly 50% of the time and not changing much so the wild result from the test you see later is quite strange.
Item B:
dropped 10-15% of the time with 15% being the most common
Item C:
Dropped 6-20% of the time. the 20% was an extremly lucky streak which resulted in me stopping farming earlier than usual for a much smaller sample of data and as such will be discounted . The most common rate was 10% so it will be considered 6-12% with 10% being it's normal rate.
With the knife I killed monster X 51 times
With the knife I got:
Item A: 24 drops. 47.06% drop rate meaning the item drop rate actually decreased in this case.
Item B: 8 drops 15.69%
Slight increase in drop rate although I'd like to double check the drop rate without thf knife later.
Item C:
5 drops for 9.80 %
Notes: Dvsparse was broken by the lastest update so I needed to redownload mid farming resulting in a smaller sample or monsters.
Item C tends to drop at 75% of the rate that Item B drops. ( Always endup with 1-1 3/4+ stacks of item B once a full stack of item C is completed in general but rarely 2 stacks or)
the last few fight had crappy drop rates and thf knife HAD made a difference before the last 10-15 fights.
This is as far as im concerned a preliminary test and I'll try to get anyone else that farms what I farm without a thf knife that has th2 to parse so I can get a bigger sample range as I continue to farm. Unless I really dont need any money I'll take my placebo over nothing for farmin.
