Its not simply 1%. IT all depends on what drop you're after.
If you're after somethign that drops 50% of the time, it won't suddely start dropping 51% of the time. The difference will be quite more noticable then that. If you're after somethign that drops 1% of the time, it won't start dropping 2% of the time, as that would be a 100% increase of its initial drop rate.
I'd rather say it increases drop rate by X% of its initial drop rate. Say its a 0.1 modifier (10%). If it drops 50% of the time, it will now drop 55% of the time (50x1.1). If if initially drops 1% of the time, it will now still drop roughly 1% of the time since the initial drop rate is so low.
Saying the difference is 1% is, in my oppinion, rather cloudy, as you can clearly notice the drop rate of more common items like, say, Wild Onion, is much larger then 1%.
I know it's not +1% TO the drop rate. I never stated that. I've always been of mind that people can figure out that it's an additional +1% OF the drop rate. If they can't figure out percents of a percent, they shouldn't be out of middle school.
If it were +1% to the rate, I wouldn't deem the knife completely worthless. As it stands, for the sake of arguement, assume Ridill has a 5% chance of appearing. 5.05% isn't going to make a difference.
