So... I'm home for a nice long spring break right now. It's awesome being home, and seeing all my friends... chillin and whatnot. So I figured today would be yet another day of driving around and hanging out. Well, I was fucking wrong...

7am: I have not woken up before 10 all vacation... and my dad comes in this morning and wakes me up. First thing I hear..

"Um... Nick, someone broke into your car."

Needless to say that woke my ass up real quick. I sit straight up in bed and ask if they took anything, knowing damn well what would be gone.

"Well, they ripped out your stereo."

Fuck.

So, now because of some low-life fucktard, I am without tunes for driving. I was so happy when I got that stereo last November for my birthday. Finally, I could cruise around and have decent sound in my car. Now I am without music.

Not only that, the fucking assholes ripped half my dash apart in the proccess. So the heater controls are now hanging down by the center console, and I'm surprised the guage cluster is still in tact. And, I have to drive back to school this Sunday. I have little enough money as it is, without having to replace a dashboard and a stereo. Hopefully, I'll be able to find some junkyard Saab I can take the dashboard out of... but as for a stereo... thats gonna take a while to get back.

So to all petty thieves in the world(I'm sure there aren't any on these boards)

FUCK YOU!

That blows, man.

My car was broken into 2 Chrsitmas Eve's ago (yeah...Merry F'ing CHRISTMAS)...and I was going HOME for Christmas, so I had to put plastic and duct tape over the broken window and hope that someone didn't try it again while I was gone. :( Then I had nightmares about people breaking into my house for the next few months. ><

Anyway - that is awful :( /comfort

People are so stupid! I'm glad my car is a piece of shit that no one would ever want it. But has a $400 stereo. :o

Either way sorry for your loss guys.

I concer, except my car has a ratty old tape player on it, I doubt the whole thing is worth $400, except for the fact that it only has 75k miles...

another reason I'm glad I don't have a car >< sorry Sanoske T.T

I hear ya San. Happened to me last Thanksgiving Break. Luckily I always left my car unlocked (not anymore) so they didnt have to break in. I was really sad though cause they stole about $1000 worth of cd's from my roomate that were in there. Still havent had the money to get it fixed, but you really learn to appreciate the views along the way while having to radio to listen to... Yeah i know that doesnt help.

Fae

We have an old, blue F-150 pick-up, which we call "Ol' Blue", which was my first vehicle. Christmas of 03 i got a cd player for it. Soon enough i get my grandpa's 96 Mazda B3000; nice pick-up, there were only 59k miles on it. After a while, i got tired of listening to the radio and decide im gonna take the CD player outta Ol' Blue. Well, just like you San, over Spring Break i go fishing and my dumbass cousin leaves the door to it unlocked. The CD player was ripped from the dash. Luckly they didn't take the pick-up, I had left the keys in the ignition. well, that's my story...

Sorry to hear that. If I can make a sugestion on your next car radio, get one with a detachable face plate. And take it with you when you leave car!! Unlike my cousin who leaves it on all the time and had his radio stolen twice. No face plate left on = useless radio for a theif.

when i was in high school, i had a part time job at a radio shack franchise. one day, i'm staring out the back door (yeah, i work hard) and i see these two guys ride by on bikes. first thing that catches me is that they're riding bikes when it's at least 100 degrees outside and they're at least my age or older. they're staring in the back door pretty hardcore, so being the trusting person i am, i walk out back and check my car.

turns out one of them tried (yes, tried) to break my window with a brick, but had given up and managed to squeeze their arm down the slightly cracked windows - i live in texas, it gets hot - to hit the locks. cracking the windows on hot days is something i no longer do.

anyway, back to the story. i realize that they've jacked my cds and the face plate to my stereo (what the hell? they took the face plate only). i like to think i'm a pretty level-headed guy, so of course i take off on foot down the alleyway without saying a word to anyone.

i stop at a fire station next door, where a couple of guys were hanging around out back. i give them the description of the two 'gentlemen' and explain what happened, but they say they haven't seen them ride by. just then, i see the two cross the end of the alley a few blocks away. i dig my phone, wallet, keys, all that out of my pockets, say 'hold this!' and ran as fast as i could with boots on - no, not cowboy boots - with the knife i tend to carry around for 'box cutting' in my hand yelling something like 'COME BACK HERE, ASSHOLES!'

so about three blocks later they outdistance me, and as i realize that they're gone, the firefighter i left my stuff with pulls up, says he called the cops, and we go off in the general direction i saw them in last. finally i see them, and we tear down another alley. i get out of the truck when they hop a fence, but by the time i get stopped after having bailed out of a truck going at least 20mph down an unpaved road, i've lost them.

the cops, as was expected in that hole-in-the-ground town, were next to useless. as far as i'm aware, there was never any sort of investigation. just sort of a 'damn, that sucks' and off they go.

ever since then, i've gotten pretty paranoid about making sure everything stays locked. but yeah, i feel your pain man.

It did have a detachable faceplate... I just never really felt the need to bring it inside at night. I mean, it's my own friggin driveway. I don't live in a big city, however I do live right next to one... but I never really had any problems.

The police said that no other houses/cars in the area were hit, so chances are it was someone who knew me, or knew I had the stereo. Now... I know none of my friends would do this(obviously), and anyone I know who would... wouldn't know me well enough to know that I had the stereo. My suspicion is that it was my sketchy neighbor. We've had trouble with him and his dad before... plus, he just got out of drug rehab or prison or something, again... so he obviously has problems. By bet is on him or one of his equally sketchy friends.

But what can I do about it? Nothing... /sigh

Oy that's not so bad. My car got broken into and they made away with 2 studio speakers, a 10" sub and completely destroyed my CD Player. I had gotten the CD player 3 days before for my birthday.

That's not the bad part though...I had idiots break into my car. They used a crow bar to pry the door frame out - completely bending the window out at a 45 degree angle destroying it. They then took the crowbar and tried to pry my brand new Panasonic CD player out of my dash, destroying it and the dash in the process. Why the hell did I have to have idiots break in instead of your common theif?

You can easily get into my car using a coat hanger while doing NO damage to the frame. I ended up losing my car for about a month while they fixed it...bill was $2,500 with about $1,500 of that going into buying me a new door/console.

Not saying it totally doesn't suck ass that that happened but just trying to make you feel better with a "it could of been worse" situation...

/nod Sanoske.. they should all die..

Back in the day, when I was into the whole import racing scene, I just got back from a pretty big drag racing event. I "thought" my neighborhood was pretty damn safe.. I mean damn.. it was the NW burbs of chicago where all the cops are freakin bored all the time and pull you over for stupid shit like neon lights on your license plate frame. Anyways, it was a nice summer night.. and I crashed in my living room coz I was so tired...only to awake to the constant ding donging at 3AM. The cops decided to pay me a visit. I got up sluggishly and they told me that my car was broken into. At first I thought one of the other cars got jacked since it was in my driveway, but nope.. they jacked my 98 Integra. The lowlife scum broke the driver side window.. stole my A-pillar cluster (boost guage, fuel pressure guage), guage cluster assembly, face off my stereo(which is kinda dumb since you need to have the body for it to work ), drag slicks, oversized Tachometer, S-AFC fuel computer, radar detector.... pretty much everything that could be taken off by a hefty tug. Insurance pretty much covered everything since I had all the receipts but the hassle of ordering all the parts again was what sucked.

A couple months later.. went to another show and and noticed that one of the show cars had similar parts to what was on my car. What convinced me that the stuff in the car was mine was the fact that he had drag slicks in his trunk (painted a different color of course). I took a key to it and scratched the paint to reveal the color underneath. Yup.. they were my slicks coz the underlying color was the exact custom color I had painted them previously. I confronted the owner about his stuff and was ready to beat him down but he pleaded and explained to me that he bought it off some dude at a shop that closed down a month prior. He stated that the price was too good so he had to jump on it. He offered to take everything off but I just told him to hold onto it since I already got all my stuff back (actually better stuff since all the new stuff came out  ) He also offered to help me identify who stole my stuff which was pretty cool. I ended up taking best Acura Integra that day so I wasn't completely pissed.

I hope some fortune comes out of this for you as it did for me and I hope you find out who did that to you Sanoske. /comfort

Alright... someone is going to die.

Found out today my car doesnt have theft insurance... because since I'm 18, it's too expensive.

Besides that, I got a new set of speakers I bought off eBay for my PC. They arrive last night... minus a Audio Plug Cable for Speaker <-> PC.... no biggie. So I go out and buy that today. Get home, plug it in.... nothing. So my friggin speakers are no good.

This just isnt my week. Alright, sorry.. I'm done.

/complain off

I'm sorry to hear about this Sanoske. I don't know what to say, really.

You should do what I do: Put fake stickers on one or a couple of your windows that clearly say "This vehicle is armed with such-and-such alarm, if you break into it, your testicles will be removed and put into your eye sockets, and your eyes into your scrotum, etc". (Actually, the sticker doesn't say the second part, but you get the point.) :D

Or....you could slap an NRA bumper sticker or a picture of Hillary Clinton on your car, but I neglected to do either.

Best wishes to you and your car!
