Other linkshells may or may not have certain botters, but they never openly admit it to the rest of the shell. Usually these linkshells tend to take action if someone openly goes parading about it. PP on the other hand used to ask its members to bot.

I agree with that difference between PP and other shells. Pers know that Zoolander (and Chronicles?) bots/botted though, and he's still there. I don't get how/why that makes me a "fucking idiot" though.

I'm not trying to defend PP, or even criticise Pers really. Botting is disgusting on any level. Doing it less but still doing it doesn't make it "ok". And I find it ultimately hypocritical when HNM shells have disagreements over things like this.

PP has had many names, Lacuna Nodus is one of them. You are now in Lacuna Nodus correct?

I was, yeah. I left them today for a mix of reasons. Is that relevant? I'm not exactly defending them here.

Think it's more one of those things you don't have much place to bitch about when you supported them by joining them if I'm going down the same thought process.

Since you left them, it is not relevant. It would just seem contradictory to me if you were saying "Botting is wrong on any level" and then remain in a shell that you strongly believe bots. In that way, you wouldn't be defending them in words, but you would obviously be de facto supporting them - and be performatively contradicting.

I'm really not bitching, nor trying to.

I'm calling both Ata (Lacuna's leader) a hypocrite for posting it, and Crumpet (member of Pers) a hypocrite for commenting as if Pers doesn't use bots too.
 
Why is it the same crap that happened in the first thread is happening again here...theres tons of people on that list and the only name that comes up is mine.

Ill say now what I said then, and its only even more so since its been two and a half years since I made this decision instead of a year: Obviously there were repercussions of this and there was a lot of discussion behind closed doors. I lost my leadership position within perse (to me that was a fairly big deal considering I had been one since it was created) and there was obviously some discussion about whether I should stay or go. Tyrath pretty much got it right with what he said.

Honestly, I'm fucking done apologizing for a decision I made 2.5 years ago when I was a significantly different person. I've moved on, and so has most people. I really can't believe the same god damn discussion is going on AGAIN and it AGAIN pretty much only involves me from this stupid list.

At the risk of offending some of LacunaNodus here, that was one of the main reasons i left. I'd rather not go into that on a public board now though.

You knew it going into the shell. So to be honest still pretty contradictory, or hypocritical to say "Botting is disgusting on any level." But.. I'm going to join a shell who openly encourages it anyways.

Surprised you're even posting after saying that you didn't want to talk to me in-game. I'm not going to explain myself to you again, nor do I need your quirky childish exaggerations here either.
 
You're right, I did ask you to stop talking to me in game. Same as I'd do to anyone throwing obscenities around like you were, if you can't speak to me civilly then don't. I didn't ask you to explain yourself to me, nor do I want you to. I am however allowed to express my opinion on it.
 
I've never had a problem with you ingame before, Dia, but Kairi has a point. You knew what they were about before joining, and joined anyway. You're right, you don't have to explain yourself to anyone, but i think it might help your reputation a little if you at least tried.

Its hellova lot harder to keep a good reputation then it is to keep a bad one. Its not like he's going to suddenly never get invited to merit parties just because he don't explain himself.

If he cared so much about his reputation he wouldn't have joined a LS known to encourage botting.

And it goes hand in hand. If you have a bad reputation more people will dislike you. Good reputation and a lot of people will like you. It isn't one and the same, but it does go hand in hand.
 
Fuck friends in a MMO. Who needs other people in a MMO. MMO's are meant for solo play. Fucking newbs.
 
I never said friends aren't good. What I said is that you don't need everyone on the server to be your friend to get stuff done in an MMO.
